(When Louis Gohmert makes you look stupid); Rosenstein Testifies He Doesn’t Need to Read FISA Applications He Signs

I don’t know what to believe about this one. Is this Rosenstein’s way to dodge the question? is he this lazy and complacent? Is he a liar? This makes no sense to me. And if true it screams that Ros is unfit for any position of authority whatsoever.

But I will admit, I did let out a muffled guffaw when I read it.

When former judge Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) asked Rosenstein about the FISA warrant he signed, Rosenstein looked to FBI Director Wray for the answer – a move that disturbed Gohmert.

Rep. Gohmert: When you approve a FISA application, in your mind, does that mean you should read it and understand what’s part of it?

Rosenstein: “You should certainly understand what’s part of it, sir.”

Rep. Gohmert: “But, you’re parsing words. So, that doesn’t mean you need to read it, in your opinion – is that correct?”

Rosenstein: “It depends on the circumstances.”

Rep. Gohmert: “Well, telling you, being a former felony state judge, if I had somebody like you come before me and now it was revealed later that the guy that signed and approved an application for a warrant had not even read the application that would allow spying on somebody, I would look at everything he signed from then on with a jaundiced eye. And, I’m telling you, I was a little concerned.”

Wow. Russia Gate is making strange bedfellows. First I'm reading sites I never thought I would because they are the only ones covering it and now to find myself agreeing with Louis Gohmert boggles my mind.

I recently read that Holdey was Bill's attorney general and he helped get Marc Rich pardoned. Who is Marc Rich and what were the crimes he committed that Bill pardoned him for?

There is the infamous Marc Rich pardon. Marc Rich was an international fugitive who had duped our government out of loads of cash. President Clinton had pardoned this fugitive on the recommendation of Holder his Deputy Attorney General and for Clinton’s own corrupt reasons. At that time Rich was on the FBI’s 10 most wanted list, accused of racketeering, defrauding the United States Treasury out of tens of millions of dollars and trading with our Nations enemies including Iran. Rich had supplied Iran with funds Iran desperately needed while Khomeini’ embargoed regime kept American Diplomats prisoner and held them as hostages.

When an outraged Congress summoned Holder to explain his actions, Holder’s testimony was rambling and often incredible, saying he didn’t really know much about the Marc Rich case. He was consistent on the subject of his own ignorance about Marc Rich. Holder’s protestations of ignorance do not stand even shallow scrutiny. Holder knew Rich well. To be clear, before the pardon scandal convinced Holder it was in his best interest to profess ignorance about his knowledge of Rich, Holder was on record with media bragging about how his office was cracking down on Marc Rich’s financial crimes. So the question is why did Clinton tell Holder to set up a pardon for Rich? Since Rich’s whole life was a record of self-serving financial chicanery, my inclination would be to believe there was money involved. Remember Clinton was on his way out of the White House at that time and the news stories were saying he and Hillary were even stealing the White House china.

How many bank CEOs did Holder bother to charge for their role in the global economic crisis? Anyone? Not that I recall, but he sure made them pay for it by fining them a few millions on their billions they made in profits. Not one person or company that he charged for anything had to admit to wrongdoing which allowed them to do it again. And again ......

Oh yeah. Gina the torture queen is now the CIA director. Crime certainly does pay. For some people.

mouthpiece thinks ‘ a line should be drawn’. He’s never been one to think the peasants should have much say in the way governments treats them. Or if their government murders them.

Representing Chiquita, Holder brokered a deal for the banana giant to pay $25m over five years to the justice department. This arrangement was made after Chiquita admitted in 2003 to providing $1.7m over six years to the paramilitary group The United Self Defense Forces of Colombia. This group was listed as a terrorist organisation by the state department. Chiquita also allegedly provided a cache of surplus Nicaraguan army AK-47s through their own transport network. The payments continued unabated for months after Chiquita's admission.

The company claimed the payments were made to protect its workers, but it is unclear who was protected. Colombia's attorney general, Mario Iguaran, roundly rejects Chiquita's excuses. Iguaran believes the payments were made to secure the unimpeded production of bananas and to quell labour unrest. He claims that at least 4,000 people were killed by these paramilitaries. Hundreds of the victims were banana workers and labour organisers. Iguaran wishes to extradite the Chiquita executives responsible for approving the payments and a lawsuit is currently underway representing the families of 173 workers who were killed by the paramilitaries. Holder continues to represent Chiquita in the resulting civil case.

Holder's reaction to the $25m settlement is unacceptable:

If what you want to encourage is voluntary self-disclosure, what message does this send to other companies? Here's a company that voluntarily self-discloses in a national security context, where the company gets treated pretty harshly, [and] then on top of that, you go after individuals who made a really painful decision.

Eric ‘Chiquita Banana’ Holder is a real piece of human garbage. That statement shows what a soulless predator he is. Fast & Furious is some more of his handiwork.

We had the Cheney, Rumsfeld twins in and out for the republicans and the democrats have Comey, Mueller, Rosenstein and Holder for the democrats spending time between making lots of money for themselves and then screwing us little folks for their donors. I just didn't know how many people had played on the wheel.

Strozk was said to have taken the 5th a lot today and he laughed a lot during the hearings. If one isn't under oath, but still lies to congress is that a crime? Guess it doesn't matter either way because nothing ever happens to people who do lie.

The only thing that has been coming from the investigations and hearings is that we can see that it doesn't matter what people did or not they won't be held accountable for their actions in our lifetime unless it affects the donor class. But we know that they are as crooked as all get out!

The myth of Obama’s ‘disappearance’

If you believe recent media accounts, the former Democratic president has suddenly transcended the political fray. It’s as if a newly “Zen-like” Barack Obama is content to just write his memoir and let Donald Trump and Republicans write the next chapter of history.

In a cover story asking “Where is Barack Obama?” for example, New York magazine concluded that the 44th president has “virtually disappeared” from the political scene and is sitting idly by as his legacy is dismantled piece by piece. From an exclusive interview, the periodical concluded Obama was “modeling his political engagement out of office after George W. Bush’s” — that is, staying out of the rough-and-tumble of politics, maintaining distance from his former office and resigning himself to be an elder statesman fading into the sunset

Let me take a break here so I can tell you I actually read thar fawning, drooling, juvenile idol worshipping article. You have to read it for yourself to believe it.

Where Is Barack Obama?
http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2018/06/where-is-barack-obama.html

Now back to business...

From his sprawling DC office not far from the White House, where he oversees a full-time staff of 20, Obama has held regular meetings with Democratic lawmakers, as well as DNC chief Tom Perez, whom he personally helped install to run the Democratic Party. Obama has also met with his attorney general, Eric Holder, to craft a strategy to redraw congressional district maps in Democrats’ favor, according to Politico. Holder now runs the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, which Obama helped his old friend launch.

*

Republicans are so alarmed by Obama’s permanent presence and political interference they are raising money from donors based on these fears, warning in a recent fund-raising newsletter about “his scheme to interfere in the 2018 midterms,” according to a June 22 e-mail from House Majority Whip Steve Scalise.

In public, Obama has skillfully kept his distance from recent anti-Trump protests and politicking. But behind the scenes, he really may be coordinating the resistance — and acting as its organizer in chief.

Of course that weasel is still pulling the strings. What ‘legacy’ he has is at stake. Also, he’s participated in some really ‘unethical’ shenanigans trying to 1) get The Clinton Creature elected; and when that failed, 2) to cover her ass as well as his own, his entire administration, and the intelligence community in trying to delegitimize Trump’s presidency.

Interesting times indeed.

organization." Seems like he is still lying to people. And here is the pot calling the kettle black. Amazing hubris!

Most recently, OFA helped stage rallies across the country against the administration’s border policies, which it has decried as “cruel and inhumane.” OFA describes itself as a “nonpartisan grass-roots-driven organization,” but it clearly has a pro-Obama agenda. In fact, it’s run almost entirely by alums from Obama’s campaign and White House, including Jon Carson and Jim Messina, who co-chair the group, and Katie Hogan, who serves as its executive director, according to recent tax filings by the nonprofit.

OFA brings in between $6 million and $14 million in donations a year, and is funded in part by Democracy Alliance, which is connected to the radical group that dispatched agitators to march outside Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s Virginia town house, blaring an audiotape of crying immigrant children and chanting “No justice, no sleep!” The group, CREDO Action, also held signs calling Nielsen a “child snatcher” and shouted, “You’re a modern-day Nazi!’

Meanwhile the actual neo Nazis in Ukraine have gotten so violent that they are scaring the people who put them in power. More hubris. How many children did Obama's DHS and ICE see their parents ripped away from them and shipped back to their countries that they might have fled from because of Obama's foreign policies? Honduras and Libya are seeing massive and desperate flights because of the violence there.

Just when I thought he had done enough damage during his 8 years in office I find out that he isn't done. Massive sigh.

political mess we are wallowing in AND it shows that the DNC hasn’t changed at all. This kind of talk is NOT helpful. Perez is a real tool.

DNC chairman calls Obama ‘the real president of the United States’

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Tom Perez called former President Obama "the real president of the United States" this week.

Perez's remark came as he introduced Obama during a Democratic fundraiser in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Thursday, according to Politico.

*

"I'll be honest with you, if I have a regret during my presidency, it is that people were so focused on me and the battles we were having, particularly after we lost the House, that folks stopped paying attention up and down the ballot," Obama said.

*

Obama's critics have argued that Obama, as president, didn't pay enough attention to the Democratic Party and help pave the way for a successor that could have beaten President Trump during the election.

http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/394985-dnc-chairman-calls-obama-the...

Here’s the Politico article about this fraud’s speech:

Obama: ‘You are right to be concerned’

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Barack Obama’s message to Democrats: Stop dreaming of him.

Speaking at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser Thursday here in the lush backyard of two party megadonors, Obama warned of a country and world on the brink — “you are right to be concerned,” he told the crowd — but said they’d flub their chance to change that if they kept pining for a magical savior.

*

He almost accepted some of the blame for the state of the party, though he framed it less as the DNC atrophying from years of benign neglect while he was in the White House and being saddled with his reelection campaign debt and more as people making the mistake of falling too much in love with him.

*

But the tension between the desperation among many Democrats that Obama needs to lead the charge against Trump and the shift away that the former president and Democratic officials are pushing played out in Perez himself: He called Obama out onto the stage by saying, “Let’s give it up for the real president of the United States,” then 20 minutes later, downplayed what he called “political venture capitalists — they want to find the next Barack Obama” — who aren’t focused on the nuts and bolts of party building.

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/06/29/barack-obama-advice-to-democra...

They’re still trying to delegitimize Trump’s election. Trump is a disgusting liar, but no matter how much Perez and the DNC don’t want to admit it, he beat their girl and nothing anyone says can change that fact. And it’s causing serious problems on the left by continuing the fantasy that the election was ‘stolen’ from Her. That delusional thinking has sucked all the air out of the room. Serious problems that we DO need to be concentrating on are being neglected because of the Dims burning desire to fight this battle of keeping Trump tied up in ‘investigations’. They want them to continue more than they want to deal with the damage caused by Trump’s tax cuts, healthcare coverage, growing income disparity, eternal wars, etc.

If hey didn’t have so much to hide themselves they wouldn’t be so desperate to keep stirring up trouble.

Dumbass A, has one hell of a point about Dumbass B. Good Lord! Doesn't even read what he signs. A spying warrant, but doesn't bother to read it. Why am I reminded of Radar on M*A*S*H getting Henry to sign all sorts of papers? Except it was never for bad things. Who is Dumbass B's Radar? Or, maybe he's lying, like you suggested as a possibility. Bizarre!

Of all the lawyered-up claims I've read about in 5 decades of watching the Deep Doodoo State try to weasel out of their responsibility for crime, I Didn't Read The Warrant I Signed is the lowest, stupidest thing I've seen yet. Worse than Oliver North. And that's really saying something.
