"It is not necessary to paint a man with a gun," declared Picasso. "An apple can be just as revolutionary."
Good morning good people!
If this is a long holiday for you, please enjoy. My online calendar doesn't post holidays and my o2 saturation is so low, i'm often in the fog, it seems, as i learned of the holiday yesterday just in time to say "oh damn," i'm traveling to home in the afternoon on freeways and will hit the cities at rush hour and everyone escaping the heat is going the same way.
Another challenging week for me; needing a little peace from this tightrope with balance fading.
"C'est la vie!" Birds chirping floats in window this morning, babies in perennial nest as light grey, low clouds cover the sun; could be morning fog breaking up or gathering for rain, don't know, joints foretelling little and doesn't matter, it's a home day; exhausted, i've much to do in tiding up and preparing to dog-sit for 11 days beginning tomorrow. I pack everything but the sink of course and the heavy oxygen machine along with food and the meds and laundry and computer and working documents and shoulder sling, and treats; don't forget the apples.
Speaking of apples, the news, full of rotten ones can't escape their lies or i should query if it matters; is the new backroom saying in journalism "Lies sell?" Appears so, sadly. To hell with the outside drama today, just felt a cool breeze and a new to me Kona coffee waits as all do for this time to travel through.
Hoping you all a splendid day and conversation!

Great news, though curiously redundant, since the
Constitution already says that. I think it is half showmanship and half a legitimate attempt to reclaim their prerogative that they have let slip away as they have permitted multiple presidents to abuse various wild interpretations of the Constitution plus other laws and doctrines in order to abrogate war making power to themselves. Assuming the Senate goes along, will this president sign it? If he does will he adhere to it? Will any successor?
That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --
Congress has prostrated itself at Netanyahu’s feet so often,
I would have thought that the danger was actually the other way — that Congress would try to compel war against Iran (for example, through economic sanctions, covert ops, naval blockades etc., measures tantamount to war) — in an attempt to countermand the executive’s constitutional powers over foreign policy short of formally declaring war.
Oh, that too, for sure. They'll wage covert and economic war
and try to provoke one, and even try to provoke Trump into going for it, but they want to force him to ask permission.

So as long as he doesn't declare it a "war"
he can bomb them into the ground. Any loophole will work. This also assumes Trump gives a ff about Congress at all. He could just declare Congress null and void or himself above the law.
We are not traveling this weekend. They had film on the news of the traffic jam on I75 heading north. OMG when you have 200+ miles to cover and it is stop and go, it is more than I can handle.

May peace live, eyo, good for Maurice and critters; they did
something not malicious or with the rich in mind. Thanks for sharing the article and especially for Happy Trails, big smile here:
And cheers for the joker. Have a good one!
Peace and Love to you too, sky cowboy.
Nice post!
Hey Smiley7, sounds like a full load you've got, good luck
with it. Thanks for the OT, the tunes and the art. Just how bad, if I may ask, is the O2 issue? You live so intensely in the now that one tends to forget your past.

Oxygen saturation is not good, bad, actually, el.
Big drop of late, the past two months. This morning pluseometer reading at rest is 82, normal is 95-100, most folks around 98. In short, i'm losing gas exchange capability in the lungs, the decline had been steady until recently. Monthly trial drug tests were Wednesday and the technicians doing different tests asked if i was seeing the Doc afterwards; she was away and called Thursday, but i missed the call. Not good news to report, my friend, straight up.
Thanks for asking.
Oh, hell... don't even know what to say...
Just - keep breathing! Even miracle improvements have happened before.
Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.
A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.
Good morning, all. Farmers' market today, my week to cook
starts tomorrow while I'm just starting a new regimen as to many things. It is going to be interesting enough that I may need to, briefly, retreat into the not so ancient practice of boogieism;
Off to go figure out how to get organized, not a major part of my skillset.![Wink](https://caucus99percent.com/sites/all/modules/smiley/packs/kolobok/wink.gif)

Curious to hear the new direction,
fellow cook. But only if you feel like divulging and have the time.
Always interested in hearing tips from folks who enjoy cooking and respect the whole process.

Well, I used to be pretty much eat what I want with a big focus
on lots of fiber and protein and, I was a salt junkie. I still need to chase fiber, but, severely cut salt, fats, oils, cholesterol and also cut overall caloric intake and maybe cut carbs a little. The main thins is move move and move more often (when at home), plus more exercise. I am not a person who can exercise for the sake of exercising except for my back exercises, so that means to find productive ways to fiddle and muck about for a chunk out of each hour. Beyond cooking and shopping and gardening, that is.

Canned Heat so much better than canned food, el. Cheers for
that and good fortune with new enterprises and organization. Looking back, i did manage complex operations involving lots of employees in a few and in the theatre all those cues; but, in personal life, i've never matriculated to anything that would resemble a regimen.
So much to do with Mom and Granny's estate hanging out with, counting them now, several laws firms charging high prices and providing no matching answers, a convoluted mess and right-wing-religious greedy asshats, extended relatives, behaving in 'Trumptian' fashion; that managing the stress is now a year-long concern; no doubt it plays into my general health in nefarious ways. Oops i'm dwelling on negatives, but wanted to share or update a little to driving factors in everything.
Cooked some new red potatoes and fresh corn from down south a ways together late last night, my first taste of summer food, yummy.
Well, the rain has arrived; maybe more naps are in order,![Smile](https://caucus99percent.com/sites/all/modules/smiley/packs/kolobok/smile.gif)
Enjoy your market day, el!
Memorial Day Weekend,
sunny and 74º. The lawn mowed. Time for a hotdog and cold beer! Tomorrow is a day for local rock'n'roll bands at a local park. And a beer or two. A great way to kick off summer! Have a good weekend one and all!

I'm moving the tomatoes along...
It's past time to put them into the ground, but a bunny has taken up residence in the fenced garden and has eluded capture, so I have to wrap chicken wire around the lower part of each tomato cage. Normally no big deal but I want to can this year and I have about 35 plants.
If I'd known the little bastard was there I'd've planted some alfalfa for him as a basis for negotiations.

Good to see you, Emmet. Groundhogs and deer used to
play havoc on our garden; groundhogs especially love snow peas, deer sleeping in the corn. They ignored big dogs.
Long ago on the farm as a boy, i had rabbit boxes with a simple trap, very effective, but grandma and me preferred the taste of squirrel. Had to burn out the boxes if i caught a possum or racoon.
Thirty-five plants should produce a bounty and nothing compares to the taste and smell of a freshly picked tomato.
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
I just got a chance to stop in.
It was a long day of work for me but I wanted to wish you well. Hope you get a hold of that Doc soon to try some remedy to bring those O2 sat's up a bit. Those are concerning #'s that I would imagine zap your strength and energy. Wish I could lend a hand. All I 'got' is to encourage you to pace yourself and don't let the crazy relatives derail you.
Keep us posted here smiley if you can, but more importantly take good care of yourself.
Hi smiley
Thank you for Picasso’s Las Meninas (Film Noir?), and for Geoffrey Castle’s violin.
The music is somber, but equally heart-stirring. May fresh air continue to fill you.
From a different direction …

Thanks, Smiley.
You have a great weekend too.
Our son just arrived with six more tomato plants, all bursting with rude health and twice as tall as mine. Project Bunny Rabbit begins tomorrow!
