Texas Senate race. Calling all Texans.

What can you tell us about this Beto O'Rourke character?
He does have a pretty substantial issues page. No robust non-intervention statement like I would like to see, but at least a nod in that direction.
He seems to be something of what I think southerners call a rascal, as is GWB, which, politics not being beanbags, is not necessarily a bad thing.
Does he have any chance of winning?
Is this a runup effort preparatory to running for governor in some later election? Is he perhaps angling for a cabinet position in the next Dem administration?
Please, Texans. This enquiring mind wants to know.

Here in Flawer'Duh, we're stuck with Gwen Graham.
It'll probably come down to her and corporate/real estate cocksucker Adam Putnam. This, on top of Rick Scott running for Porky Dem Bill Nelson's senate seat. We're fucked no matter who we vote for.
Modern education is little more than toeing the line for the capitalist pigs.

My condolences.
Would you like to trade for Chuckie "They don't believe in the Torah" Schemer? Me being a Catholic, I don't believe in the Torah either. Neither do Buddhists, Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, followers of Confucius, members of other non-Zionist Christian denominations, and, of course, atheists and agnostics, or so I understand. Looks like old Schemer let the cat out of the bag about fashionable multiculturalism, which would seem to have been merely a slogan and a scam all along.

The Torah is the first five books of the Christian and Jewish
Bible.
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy.
I am afraid I had it confused with
commentary on the Old Testament after the Romans destroyed the temple.
If the word refers to what I thought was called the Pentateuch, is it not true that Moslems also consider the OT to be sacred scripture although (for them) inferior to the Koran? So, Schemer's statement not only makes no sense, it could also be considered an insult.

Capitalist appropriation.
What most people call 'multiculturalism' or worse, 'cultural marxism' is just those at the top of the capitalist shit heap turning anything and everything into objects of capitulation to capitalism itself.

Gwen Graham was my rep in the House (one term) and she was horrible. I swore I would never vote for her again. Bill Nelson versus Rick Scott??? No real difference IMO.
We in Florida are very screwed. I was hoping John Morgan would run for Governor just to shake things up.
Do I hear the sound of guillotines being constructed?

No big fan of central Florida conservative Bill Nelson
either. That said, this life-long Futurist will vote for him. Why? The guy has always tried to stand up for the environment. Maybe because of tourism $$, maybe cos he's a cracker, who knows? A tarantula spider is better than shite Scott. I want the indicted Medicare crook GONE. I don't know about you guys but I am sick of being embarrassed by where I live! Rec'd!!

Sorry to be replying so late.
Wiki and his own website probably contain as much information as any voter knows, but, of course, you could google and see what that yields. For me, the fact that he is a member of the New Democrat Coalition would be all I needed to know. ymmv
from the wikipedia article:
In my humble opinion this makes him suspect. Not condemned necessarily, but suspect.

Democrats were coerced to endorse Hillary. I began to suspect
that relatively early on. It was confirmed in a facebook post by a New Hampshire state senator who was serving as Sanders' NH campaign chair. He was one of the first Democratic endorsers of Sanders I'd heard of, so I (and others like me) went to his facebook page to say thanks. Some asked him questions, including whether Democrats were being coerced to endorse Hillary. When he posted answering the questions, he said they were. That he even had the courage to answer that question impressed me. And, of course, Sanders did win NH handily. (-:
For me, membership in the New Democrat Coalition is the tell.
One of my friends has
friends and family in TX and she's been following Beto a little. She received some petition or fundraising thing about him from TOP and immediately asked me if that means he's tainted. I also read the wiki as Henry suggested and let her know what I found there. He's better than Machine Gun Cruz in my opinion but he's probably not a real lefty either. As for TOP I think we all know they'll jump on a bandwagon for even a "progressive" Democrat if they feel that person might actually win. Or they can get money out of it.
Only a fool lets someone else tell him who his enemy is. Assata Shakur
I wish TOP had been looking for winners
back during the presidential primary.
Does your friend know anything about him besides the wiki information?
