DCCC publicly attacks and slanders progressive candidate

The Democratic establishment is the biggest obstacle to progressive causes.
That much you knew. However, the DCCC is usually subtle about how they stifle progress. It's unusual for them to simply act like an extension of the RNC.

In a statement on the DCCC website, the organization stated its case against Moser thusly: “Democratic voters need to hear that Laura Moser is not going to change Washington. She is a Washington insider, who begrudgingly moved to Houston to run for Congress.” The crux of its criticism is that Moser recently relocated to the district from Washington, DC; that her husband is on the payroll of the fundraising firm she uses, Revolution Messaging; and that she once wrote something really mean about living in a rural Texas town.

It’s an unusual attack for a few reasons. Moser, who grew up in Houston before moving away, has caught fire in the race largely because of her pedigree as a first-time activist—after the 2016 elections, she launched an organizing tool, Daily Action, to make it easier for activists to bug their members of Congress. She was featured on the cover of Time. It’s a little strange to start off the year of the first-time woman candidate by stating that a leading Resistance activist is “not going to change Washington,” just as it’s unusual to see a freelance writer—Moser has written for Slate and penned a series of young adult novels—described unironically as a “Washington insider” by virtue of having once lived in the same city as the DCCC.

Even the Howard Dean-founded Democracy for America shot back and called the DCCC “Republican-lite cheerleaders”.
Moser's real crime is that she supports single-payer health care, paid parental leave and campaign finance reform.

So who does the DCCC want?

To that end, national Democrats have tended to favor Lizzie Fletcher, a corporate lawyer running a more moderate campaign. EMILY’s List, which recruits and backs pro-choice women candidates, endorsed Fletcher last winter. But Fletcher has her own challenges—she was the only Democratic House candidate in the state that the AFL-CIO instructed its members specifically not to vote for, on account of her law firm’s role in a union-busting case.

Every time I see the Democratic establishment sh*tting on a progressive, EMILY's List is always involved.
The Intercept headline puts it into context:
DCCC Goes Nuclear, Slams Democratic Candidate As Corrupt For Same Behavior It Engages In Regularly

The dropping of the opposition research on Moser came after The Intercept published an article Thursday morning highlighting a rift in the race, with the pro-choice women’s group EMILY’s List backing Lizzie Pannill Fletcher against Moser. The DCCC and EMILY’s List often work hand in glove. Meanwhile, candidate Alex Triantaphyllis, a former Goldman Sachs analyst, has told people on the campaign trail he was recruited by the DCCC, according to local Indivisible leader Daniel Cohen.
Fletcher, a corporate lawyer with ties to a mega-donor steel magnate, worked for a firm that routinely represents employers. The firm recently defeated local janitorial workers in a labor law case by studying social media feeds to ensure the jury had a healthy number of Trump supporters, a tactic it later boasted about publicly. Fletcher said she didn’t work directly on the case. But the local AFL-CIO made a rare non-endorsement in the race, urging residents to vote for any candidate other than Fletcher, and pledging to do what it can to defeat her.

This is just flat-out disgusting.
Based on fundraising, Moser is competitive.

ooh her last name is "Lee" thank the g-ds there is no statue connecting her to that other Jackson nor that other Lee.

This why we don't have nice things.

Maybe Nancy will declare her an Icon? Worked well for John (Is my wife out of jail yet? or my progeny will take over my seat cause because and my district is asleep?) Conyers?

It's between her and Maxine, you decide.

Oh, and Hi Pluto, you're the best!

Good grief, she couldn't answer the question herself? I, I, I was doing all these things while I was talking on the phone. Not profoundly rude? Um, yeah you were. Not a dish in my mouth?
Geezus!
She filibustered the show. BTW, the robust pupic option wasn't even considered by Barry because he had already made a deal with the insurance company.

Speaking of John, Caitlin said that he wears his civil rights action on his sleeves while he works against his constituents. Heh!

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

A few days ago I made a somewhat inarticulate reference to this Programmed Sabotage that the Democratic Party has launched. It is actually directed at networks of activists who are helping real Left candidates in elections around the country. These networks (formed after the 2016 elections) are having quite a bit of success with "truth speaking" candidates. The effect on DCCC candidates is something like what happens when you pour water on the Wicked Witch of the West.

The over-riding Party Boss reaction, of course, is to aggressively destroy any potential non-duopoly presence that could be part of something like a third party. The DCCC has decided to abort them early in the gestation period. I think they will pull out al the stops (if we all just send them $5). Or failing that, they can fall back on the FBI to do the dirty work for them.

This is why the 2018 midterms could be a very serious disaster for the Democrats.

Demographically and statistically speaking, if the Democratic Establishment all went home tonight and stayed in bed until after the midterms, the Party would fare very well without lifting a finger. But somebody has to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory with their boorishness. We must leave it to Schumer and Pelosi to get the job done.

As I said in my prior comment, I have a "feeling" that Dem voters are still looking for Outsider candidates and Outsider truth rather than the Democratic Units fresh off the Party assembly line who go to Washington to betray them.

Meanwhile, in other news, it has come to the attention of the United Kingdom that the Brexit vote was manipulated by Russia via Twitter, and it is thus, illegitimate.

Has anybody tried giving the DCCC bosses a bath? Smile

It might be a good idea to carry a small spray bottle of water to public events ahead of elections. If you stay until dark, I understand it works on vampires, too.

Fill your squirt-gun with Lourdes water. If your politico dissolves at the first contact, you know what to do.....

"values". Maybe a word which plays better for a Texas public? I wouldn't know. Reading between the lines, one can posit she would not be a reliable vote for war or criminalizing BDS.

I thought her a bit tepid, actually. The tone of her "values" seems to me to be Wouldn't it be a good idea if we get together and talk about more and better mass transit. Maybe she is trying to get elected while staying alive. One can't help but recall a certain candidate for mayor of Chicago who, what a coincidence, died rather suddenly from a fast acting cancer just like the President of a certain South American nation. Hmmm.
