Friday Night Photos

Just about to brave the cold and go out for a meal, so you're going to have to pass messages between yourselves..... should you want to.
Anyway, writing of the cold, here's sculpted snow on our roof:
Remains of the day...
The obligatory Fred shot (seen here sitting for his state portrait by Dick van Dyke):
Now, off to start the car.
Comments
Nice sculpture.
Till it falls on your head.
I still love to dig snow caves in the overdrifts.
So sad we don't see big ones very often anymore.
Nature will rule again someday.
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
Wow, how much snow did you get?
I remember when we had winters like that. It was 60 degrees here today.
Instead of pining over SP's beach pictures I'd post my own from Bodega bay. The waves were huge that day and they crashed loudly.
Just one of the sunny days.
Hi Snoopy!
Bodega Bay is the best. Beautiful waves. Wish you were here to share the beach.

Some photos from my two trips to the zoo in January.

Great shots Boriscleto
Love the ducks with the white on their heads. You must have a lot of patience to get these photos.

Priceless expressions.

Very nice snow bank
it reminds me of my life in Montréal, Québec.
The painting "14 Edges" below is weather related. The glow from the painting comes from the sun through my window hitting the edges of the painting. The edges were painted with that purpose in mind.

I love this, Marilyn
Please explain how you created this.
@snoopydawg
Thank you!
The Edges Series came from the debate painters have about their edges, should they be white or part of the painting. If the paintings sit on the canvas with white edges they are "images," if they wrap around the canvas they become "things." So I thought, what if the subject were the edges.
It's made with 4 pieces of cradled wood (birch), 1" and 2" deep, sanded.
One 18" x 14" is the base
Three 6" squares are glued onto the base (the centre one is higher than the other two) down the middle.
Then they are primed and painted using masking tape to control the edges. It's really fun choosing the colours. 3 colours of ecru on the base and 14 colours on the edges.
The reflections change during the day. The painting only glows when its near a window.
To thine own self be true.
Beautiful, Marilyn
And subtle. Does it change as the day passes?

I shot these at a Good Guys car show a few years back.
I'm great at multi-tasking. I can waste time, be unproductive, and procrastinate all at the same time.
SP - Those cars are decked out for a special occasion.
We always go to the old car, airplane and train museums where ever we are. And motorcycles. Great fun.

Isn't anywhere cats lay down their bed?
Top of the TV, your favorite chair, drawers or the bathroom sink were where my cats decided was her bed. Charlie is a beautiful cat. How old is s/h?
Where is the coy pond? There's a pond that the cemetery uses for irrigation and somehow coy found their way into it. It freezes up in winter and yet every spring they are still alive.
The bipole article is interesting. The Arctic lost half of its sea ice in 30 years. I'm betting that that does have something to do with the extreme weather. It has sure changed a lot since I was a kid that's for sure. Last year we got a lot of snow, this year we've only had one big storm with 8 inches at my house and it stayed cold for two weeks. 60 today and San Francisco is breaking records.
Charlie brings back good memories of
a black cat with the same name that belonged to roommates of mine years ago.
