Gimme Some Truth from the Pacific Film Archive https://archive.org/details/cbpf_000100

It says iStream only but I downloaded it for the Lennon song at the start. Love those 1970s documentary productions, that was a good one I think, 5 of 5 Savios. CTs galore. California wtf, and omg the end!? Yeah, no.

Also from Optic Nerve, Jerry Brown Talks to Whales Parts 1 and 2: https://archive.org/details/cbpf_000082

On the scene documentation of California Governor Jerry Brown's visit to the Gray Whale Listening Station, an experimental installation along California's north coast, designed by Ant Farm, 1977.

Oh man I got triggered watching those, kick my guts. I swear at the end of part 2 you can hear a local pol agitating to stop the fish farm where I eventually live/worked. Lots of politics and money to prevent growth, same as it ever was. Same old Jerry too, if you ask me. No spoilers.

The Optic Nerve crew are awesome reminders -- can't stop the signal, thanks goodness for alternative media! I really enjoyed the early audio/video gear, and the sneaky puns made me lol. Power to all people. Now. Right on.

peace

A chilly start to what is expected to be a cold week in Dixie. At least they took out the single digit forecasts ...replaced with teens and below. I already turned on the little heater in the well house. I hope all of you are warm and snug in your respective homes.

Have a wonderful new years eve. I like having the night off - having retired from the band. They are playing in Birmingham tonight. I used to get home about 2 or 3 AM, but tonight I'll probably be asleep by 9 and greet 2018 tomorrow morning. All the best to all of you!

Thanks for all of the great dates and tunes this year. It's fun sharing. Had to laugh at this headline found somewhere in the tubes this morning: 2018...It's not new and it's not happy.

Make the best of what's left!

and thanks for your many 'numbers-centered OTs'--which are always very interesting. Reading them has sparked (for me) considerable more interest in two of my own 2017 calendars, which were gifts last Christmas.

In celebration of the coming year, here's a smaller version of a New Year's gif that I posted earlier (before I realized I could reduce its size),

Cheers! Drinks

[Not sure why there's such a huge gap in the gif--sorry, folks.]

"Purity test"??
I've come to flag that phrase, like many others, as a tool of neoliberalism in order to shut down intelligent conversation. When someone disagrees with you, their issues are not lesser than yours. The lines that they draw are not inferior to yours. They are not being "pure" when they honor those lines. Rather, they are acting with principle.
