Time for my blather? I have been going on about escapism, and tuning out, but I fell off the wagon this week. Between being tired, sore and a rainy day, I got to catch some of the blow by blow verbal diarrhea. Munchkin (sp) says tax cuts or the stock market tanks.
The bullshit, and the stench is getting pretty bad. Along the lines of knowing what you signed up for, how about the emolument clause, and self enrichment? I would settle for STFU.
In fairly short order, I could feel my mood and outlook changing. I figure there is only one thing to do, funk it!
Really, funk it/them all!
Have a great weekend! The thread is OPEN. FTW

Good morning, Tim ~~~
I've had a tough week. A dear friend died of cancer this week. I knew it was coming, that he was not going to beat it, as he had told me. I knew it when he said it, but one always hopes. I feel so sad for his family, for the daughter who won't have her dad to walk her down the aisle, for the son who won't have his dad for advice, for his wife who goes into her golden years without her partner, for my friend who never got to retire and enjoy those golden years. Everyone has an expiration date. Some are harder to face than others. You and I faced this challenge. So, I'm speaking to the choir, which is why I'm dumping here. I hope it's okay with you.
My week, otherwise, was fine. We are mid-semester, so work is busy and humming along. My poetry class is progressing nicely. Thankfully, smiley7 lets me practice my hand at poetry on Saturday mornings in the OT, with encouragement.
Have a beautiful day and weekend, everyone.

Good Morning RA

Thanks, Tim.
My friend was 65 - similar to your father. Similar story. I appreciate you sharing that with me.
My thoughts on this, for whatever they are worth:
I am a believer in the powers of the Universe. When the time is right (because timing rules), the right person will be presented to you. You will know it, too. You will recognize that person in ways you cannot comprehend - right away. You knew it with Sue - the realization won't be any different. Trust in your inner being and you will be free to acknowledge it.
Peace to you, my friend.

What's Up?
How yinz guys been? It looks like things have slowed down @C99. I think the strategy of numbing crisis overload is causing people to check out. I purposefully avoid staying on top of the news. I figure, it is better to have a life, than live vicariously. Besides, I don't like what they are serving.
Last weekend was great. I met old riding buddies for the annual West Virginia weekend. We slept on Spruce Knob, Friday night and woke to:
A great spot for a wake and bake! We tend to ride for an hour or so, then stop for the break that refreshes. Goshen Pass was perfect for a refreshing break.
Our government is a farce. More corrupt than a banana republic. Between gerrymandering, Citizens United, authoritarianism, police run amok, militarism, lack of accountability, ... we are doomed. End the two party system! Purge the government! End life time judge appointments and ->

good morning Tim and all you others
Yes the corporate coup is complete. The common folks are grist for the 1% mill. It's difficult not to withdraw.
I feel fortunate to have bought our acreage years ago to develop our little homestead. I reckon we'll just hunker down and watch the collapse of the US empire as we are surrounded by increasing climate chaos.
I will continue speaking out and doing my best to educate others, but I've lost hope for political reform....it has been bought and sold, and deal is done.

I have had too many die young in my family . . . it sucks . . .
I feel for you all.
When you love many and you lose them, it is a triple whammy.
But the power of love for those in the here and now is still stronger . . .

GM all. Back home at my desktop with a pick-up and trailer
full of stuff ot unload, clean, stash in its appointed spots andall that. Drizzling weakly, coolish and all my pics still on the camera. Mountains of postal mail, e-mail and articles to read. Long lists of postponed projects and data stashes out of sync and incomplete.
Ahhh, this humdrum bullshit is the stuff of life. Messy, boring and tedious here and there, but real and participatory. World, national, state and most local news is, OTOH, surreal and non-participatory. The preferred choice is obvious.
Now all I need is a soundtrack, and, right on cue, there's trusty Tim, the funkopedia. Thanks mucho, compadre. Be good, have fun and indulge yourself. Seeking is not the way to find things, drift and you bump into them. Just everyday bumbling around is a miracle, you are what you is, that which is that, and actively seeking it is like riding a motorcycle in search of the motorcycle.
That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --

Love the pictures
of your trip. They're beautiful. Looks as if the leaves are changing. I can imagine the chill in the air.
We hope to do a short road trip before the year is up, spend a few evenings around the campfire then drink some cowboy coffee in the morning.
Enjoyed the Hendrix, here's one of his stellar precursors.

Hello Biker Tim!!
I'm late to the party-SOP. Your pictures are beautiful. Climate change hasn't totally wiped out autumn--yet.
Figured you'd enjoy this golden goodie from the Funkmeister:
