Government hiding secret energy programs
OK, there's a conspiracy theory I've heard since I was young. Some guy invented a new carburetor that gave cars 300mpg or someone else invented a tesla-based machine that produced free energy and the government suppressed it. Up until now, I've pretty much laughed at these CT's. The few I researched were readily apparent as hoaxes.
So there I was just now researching... you guessed it.... energy from nothing. Except this time it doesn't appear to be a hoax. Kind of like perpetual motion machines are no longer a hoax. This is what quantum engineering does for you. It's early days and the this site is pretty sketchy itself, but some of what it's talking about I already knew to be true. I need to read more but I suspect that a Casimir based vacuum energy "pump" is at least theoretically feasible if it hasn't already been built.
So first, the run-up. Please note that this is early days on my looking into this and it isn't the first time I've ran across splashy media products and labs from India. Consider this all in the "maybe" category for now. As I was writing this I couldn't help but think of the "zero point energy module" from the TV series, "Stargate Atlantis". Happily, the scientists also seem to call it zero point energy so score one for science fiction!

“Space is actually not empty and it’s full of energy…The energy in space is not trivial there’s a lot of it and we can actually calculate how much energy there is in that space and that reality might actually come out of it. Everything we see is actually emerging from that space.”
-- Nassim Haramein -- TEDx talk
OK, we've know that for a while. But you add in something called the Casimir effect and you get...
“Relatively recent proposals have been made in the literature for extracting energy and heat from electromagnetic zero-point radiation via the use of the Casimir force. The basic thermodynamics involved in these proposals is analyzed and clarified here, with the conclusion that yes, in principle, these proposals are correct.”
-- “Extracting Energy and Heat from the Vacuum” in Physical Review by Daniel C. Cole
OK neat. We're actually building zero point modules straight out of Stargate and, allegedly, they work. Then I ran across this.
The inventions Secrecy Act
Passed in 1951, this act allows the US government to bury any patents it thinks might jeopardize national security. As one might expect, most of the things on the list are tightly tied to military technologies. What you might not expect unless you're as cynical as me is the guidelines about energy.
“The 1971 list indicates that patents for solar photovoltaic generators were subject to review and possible restriction if the photovoltaics were more than 20% efficient. Energy conversion systems were likewise subject to review and possible restriction if they offered conversion efficiencies in ‘excess of 70-80%.'”
You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see where they are going there. Those sorts of technologies are a significant threat to the global elite challenging the petrodollar directly. I'll just leave you with this little tidbit.
“There are technologies presently being repressed, that are real and could replace the present fossil fuel usage with appropriate investment in research necessary to bring them online… There are scientists ready to testify at a Senate hearing on the realities of these issues.”
-- Theodor C. Loder, III, Professor Emeritus at the Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans and Space at the University of New Hampshire
If that is true, then that casts an entirely new light on global warming. Suddenly this went from a problem that the US government was doing nothing about to a problem it is directly responsible for planning and creating.

Corporate Does That... Why Should Government Be Any Different?
Seriously, we've got corporate governance for corporate benefit and profit.
The Food Pyramid and a host of health stuff coming from the FDA were pushing economic benefits, not health benefits.
Most regulatory capture that has gone down since the Powell Memo has the same MO.
Why wouldn't the government participate in this conservation of corporate profits?
On the side:
Maybe we need to rename some of those institutions, or create some shadow regulatory body monikers that get to the heart of the matter:
Corporate Profit Conservation Administration (CPCA), and similar ideas, and then tie them to the pols or institutions that are captured by corporate and serving corporate interests at the expense of human beings.

So very true...
I completely agree. What makes this new for me is the factual evidence base. It's one thing to suspect that the government is suppressing technologies which would be beneficial to the public if released. It's quite another to know it for a fact including the exact mechanism under which it is done and credible experts to testify to the suppressed technology.

Proof is Always an Intellectual Challenge...
I remember Snowden's revelations pouring over me and screwing up my thinking for a while, and Chris Hedges often confirms much of what I think to be the truth.
I was just mentioning that it "shouldn't" be a surprise.
I had the same thing happen with a meme that popped up on FB today:
Remember when the REpublicans refused to believe in Tobacco and cancer to help their corporate pals? Global warming is kind of like that...
At least that was the gist of it.
A lot of times those straws that break the camel's back can be pretty tough to deal with.

I even remember when those Republicans were called “Democrats”
and the argument was, like, “Yes, of course the’re Southern bigots, but they’re a necessary part of FDR’s coalition and it’s just being realistic to let them run Congress, the country, and the party — they all sit at the top of the seniority ranking — because that’s just the way things are in our American system if you want to get anything done.”
And wars
Think of the wars that wouldn't have a fossil fuel excuse to even take place.
I have an idea for fueling an automobile, that a mechanic said is impossible, but what he couldn't understand is that it completely does away with the combustion engine. I actually took some classes in hopes of creating my idea, but life happened. However, having seen Who Killed the Electric Car, I realized my dream of giving away the specs, like open-source, could never happen on American soil. I even dreamed up a plan to get a nobel prize winner (a young metalurgist in Europe) and possibly an eccentric billionaire known for doing things others said couldn't be done, on board. All of it has given me hours and hours of great daydreams.
It doesn't surprise me that our government has its boot on the throats of inventors, but it does disgust me.
It needs to be open source . . .
Definitely the FLOSS model. And it needs to be underground enough to not be noticed. Is that possible?
As a teacher, I loved Sourceforge. Just went there and found about anything I needed.
We need an energy and food resilience sourceforge. IMHO.

2 things that would scare the shit out of our government
1. Unlimited free energy - no more petrowars, no more big oil/energy lobby money
2. Personal protective shields - police couldn't club peaceful protesters and kill unarmed suspects anymore
I think all those theories
I think all those theories WERE false myths - attractive because the motive made sense - but for the first time we have an administration who WOULD do that, given the chance.
You're a bit off on your timeline
The rules for suppressing green energy alternatives were from 1971. Nobody, not Democrat or Republican, has seen fit to change that since then. There is nothing new with Trump.
In fact, Trump really doesn't differ from any previous administrations in anything other than style and the fact that so far, Trump hasn't fully signed on to WW3 with Russia.

No one has been able to convince me that a ...
... car battery cannot be recharged from the motion of the wheels. Especially given the ever improving windmill technology that extracts more energy from the motion.
Don't know if I said that correctly and also don't have the source at instant recall. Current day windmills produce more energy because they are taller and have longer blades . . . but also because the magnet system producing electricity is more efficient.
You real science guys can explain this better.
The excuse given me was that in a car it would create drag. Does it have to? I don't think that the magnet system in a windmill that creates electricity creates drag.
A layman's view.

Here... let me convince you
If, in fact, you were able to power a car based on the motion of it's wheels then you'd have a perpetual motion machine which, as we all know, is not possible. OK, maybe it is possible but it requires a fair amount of quantum-woo to get it to work. For something working within the newtonian framework then it simply cannot be done.
Could you reclaim lesser amounts of energy? Sure and electric cars do it all the time. You could also lighten the electric load with a solar rooftop, etc. Would a windmill create a ton of drag and overall reduce energy efficiency? You bet.

Let me elaborate further on the windmill drag
Let us assume a still day so the only "wind" hitting the windmill is caused by the motion of the car. In fact, you might as well see it the other way around... the car's motion is what is spinning the windmill... the air is still. So in order to be a net positive, the windmill would need to be more than 100% efficient. Needless to say, windmills are substantially less than 100% efficient.
However much less than 100% the windmill is, that is the amount of energy lost in this scheme. There simply ain't no such thing as easy money

I suspect even the 4 dimensional crystal has a ton of quantum strings attached although such things fascinate me. It's engineering at a whole new level of reality and it opens the door for things like FTL travel and other "impossible" (under the old rules) things.

What about magnets?
You know, the ones that make the bullet trains go. And yes, I know they have a track and the train reacting to each other, but why can't they be used to propel anything with wheels? You need something to break or allow the reaction between the opposite ends of the magnets, within the vehicle, not a magnetic road.
I've been told it's impossible, but I'm not convinced. Might be my ignorance, but I don't like impossible.
No Need for Surpressed Technologies
That may or may not be a thing - seems plausible and consistent with other behaviors these psychopaths engage in - but that's not the point. Even without any surpressed miracle technologies, the global climate change thing was still actively planned and brought into being. Scientists have been clear on this since the 70s. The military has been planning around it for decades. Even the oil companies made internal videos about it. No one in power simply allowed to happen - our government actively aided the destruction through military action to preserve oil supplies and pipelines, subsidies, depletion allowances, removing regulation, and a million other ways. So secret ZPM or not, the fuckers are just as complicit.
