I used to do bonsai and I'm still attacked to the different types of trees, just on a larger scale.
The cemetery has created a family plot area with a fountain, stream and bridges over it. They have planted a lot of little trees and I have been given permission to shape them.
Has anyone been to the Japanese gardens in Golden Gate park? Thebtrees there resemble bonsai trees.

it has been there for well over a century. His family owns the cemetery and he has been working there since he was a kid.
There aren't any flowers on it.
This is what the branches look like necked
There is an old chestnut tree too, but I'm having difficulty photographing it.
The seasonal changes it goes through is fun to watch. It flowers in the spring and then they grow into green pods and then in the fall it's loaded with chestnuts.
I would love to be able to develop a bonsai like this wisteria. It has to be many decades old to have a trunk like this.

The seasonal changes it goes through is fun to watch. It flowers in the spring and then they grow into green pods and then in the fall it's loaded with chestnuts.
I would love to be able to develop a bonsai like this wisteria. It has to be many decades old to have a trunk like this.

Have photos of some I would post, but can't access my external hard drive where I store them because my computer can no longer read them for some reason (anybody know something about this kind of stuff?).

Was there 10 years ago, while visiting with my cousin who loved there at the time, during a great trip at the end of a tour I just played, and had decided to bike the city. What a memorable day that was. Rode over the Golden Gate Br too. Lovely place, the Garden, Park and of course, city.

with bonsai. I was lucky enough to take a class that was taught by an elderly Japanese man who was a master in bonsai at a community college that had special classes that anyone could take.
The Japanese gardens are just incredible and we went there with the teacher who explained the process to us.
Bonsai means 'tree in a pot'. The reason why the Japanese started doing this was because there wasn't much land available for people to plant trees in their yards.
If anyone is interested in how many varieties there are, do a search for them and click on images.
I had over 130 trees at one time when I lived in California, but one year the temperature during the spring went up too quickly for the roots to handle the shock. Boy was I bummed.
I hope that I can have a small greenhouse and start doing this again. I still have a lot of my supplies.
As to your external hard drive problem, I had the same problem. One day it quit working for some reason. It may have made the clicking noises that tells us that there is a hard drive issue. I've read that if this happens then put it in the freezer and then take it to a computer shop.
I'm on my 3rd external drive and if it stops I might look into cloud storage.
Does anyone know a good low cost website? I've read that there are free ones, but I'm not that computer literate to understand how they work.

I've been on the road for a week driving from San Diego to Idaho and back to photograph the solar eclipse. It's been worth every minute and every penny to experience a once in a lifetime event.

I'm great at multi-tasking. I can waste time, be unproductive, and procrastinate all at the same time.
Although they were interesting, so photos were taken.
