Thanks! Just when you think McCain's fried his chips, he throws a strategic loop to yank everyone off balance - in voting to retain some over-priced health-care for some of the people who can afford to pay to actually use it, in order to continue further enriching the insurance industry and continue getting kick-backs, I suppose. Yup, better than nothing for some - but forcing those who can't afford to use it to spend grocery money on paying the insurance industry for it anyway...
Now we just need a book on Elementary Exorcism to chase the whole lot of destructive self-interests out of governance, everywhere... A civilized and sustainable society takes care of its own. Dickens must be rolling joints in his grave, trying to chill out and avoid thinking about this imposed nightmare which he did so much so very long ago to identify and re-frame as ugly and wrong within so many consciousnesses.
Empathy and consideration for others are not so much Christian qualities as survival requirements for human societies. And that's why the term 'humanity' has that meaning as well.
Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.
A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

As stated, he only "saved" Obamacare and probably only temporarily too. I like to think the public ridicule and criticism helped but I highly doubt that. I've read many times they never really wanted to repeal it but just fight over it and make it weaker if they could.
He'll be down for the next war vote though. And he's not a do-gooder, there is something in this for him and his alright. These people don't do anything out of any sense of duty to this country, only to themselves. And now he'll get some positive press out of this and people will once again believe in that maverick title. Just yuk.

The democrats were all smiles and hugs for John who heroically got out of his death bed to come to congress and vote against a bill that the democrats spent over a year on getting it passed.
For gawd's sake democrats, can you be less obvious of showing that congress is one happy family?

I didn't read how congresswoman Hirono was welcomed back the same way as McCain was.

Now people are saying that the Maverick is back. He hasn't been a maverick for decades if he ever was.
Mavericks don't break flying rules that cost people their lives. He should have been Courts Martialed for that stunt. Oh well, at least he didn't get to continue to bomb the Vietnamese since he got shot down.
He was never a war hero in my opinion. The war heroes are the ones who refused to go fight people who hadn't done anything wrong and were sent to prison for their actions.

McCaine is part of the Clinton gang.
He and Hillary were on the Armed Services Committee and worked together to benefit the MIC.
So he gets media hagiography while the Hawaiian is ignored. His Clinton connection is at least part of the reason for this blatant media bias.

Last time this type of thing happened, it was right after the invasion of Iraq, and the GOP challenged the Dems to vote on a bill that would have IMMEDIATELY demanded an end to the war.
