Taken on 07/09/17.
This full moon phase is called Thunder Moon because thunderstorms are so frequent during the month of July. It's also known as Full Buck Moon because it's the time of full growth of a bucks antlers.

I was fortunate to see and walk that lighthouse in 1991. Now all I can see is the boarded up window in one of your pics.
It's a shame that it will fall one day. The cost to repair it would feed many while the cost to replace it's nautical importance will be a tower of steel.
I chose food.
I didn't get out to shoot this week so here's some shots from a trip along the Ca. coast. from awhile back.

@janis b
too hot during the day for Abby.
The sunsets here been more red because of the fires here and in California. The jet stream brings the smoke up here.
Are you visiting your mom in Florida, or was your picture from another time?
I like the hand moon shots.mit adds an air of mystery to them. held
Yes, I'm visiting my mom and the photos were taken a day after the last full moon. If Abby were here she could cool off in the pool with me ; ).

I haven't ever seen the lake as low as it is now. It's hard to believe that in the winter of 1983 the lake was so high and there was so much more snow going to melt that pumps were built to pump water from the lake into the desert.
Now the joke is that the water is so low that the buffalo can walk away from Antelope island to the main land., could you take some pictures of the landscape for me?
Here are a few pictures of how the state dealt with the massive amounts of water coming out of the mountains.

We got up late but will be leaving soon. I thought there was more water in the lake than the last couple of years, but I could be wrong.
Hubby's family has told me about the flooding and turning State st. into a river. Thanks for the photos!

That's stunning, Pricknick!
You've painted a landscape of trees on the moon with your camera.
Hand-held Florida Moon ...
See you all and your photos later.

4th of July:
I call this 'Jug and Bowl', as it reflects the subject matter of the bowl and jug.

Your jug and bowl
also reflect the light so beautifully. I can practically feel its glossy smoothness.
Thanks Janis

I'm great at multi-tasking. I can waste time, be unproductive, and procrastinate all at the same time.
Beautiful and sad.

Thank you for pointing out the melancholic state

Absolutely stunning photos everyone
This was my sunset last night, and unfortunately I didn't bring my camera. Again.
This was fun to watch build and go away
The clouds that surrounded the bigger one were lit by the sun that was behind the cloud.
This was the sunset after that big cloud broke up.

Hello all.
The white-faced ibis have returned to Decker Lake!
Black-crowned night heron; not a lifer, but haven't seen one in years:
I count 26 killdeer (and one avocet) in this photo.
And some neat cloud formations:
Tomorrow we're going up to Farmington Bay to look for cattle egrets and a white ibis that's way out of his usual range. Wish me luck!
This shit is bananas.
I look forward to your photos of the bay
