The DNC Is Debt Ridden, Unpopular and Failing

This may make me a a petty, spiteful, cynical, and jaded old woman but all I can say is

Bwahahahahahahaha!!!!!

The DNC Is Debt Ridden, Unpopular and Failing

DNC Chair Tom Perez recently sent out a fundraising email to supporters claiming, “I know garbage when I see it,” citing that he once worked on a dump truck. It’s ironic that he referred to the GOP health care bill as a “flaming dumpster fire” because he has been presiding over the disaster that is the Democratic National Committee. The organization reported that May 2017 was its worst fundraising month since the Iraq War in 2003, and April 2017 was its worst fundraising month since 2009. In May, the DNC also reported that it has $1.9 million in debt. Despite the fact that former Secretary of Labor Tom Perez was recruited by Barack Obama to appease the party’s donors, lobbyists and PACs, even they have refused to prop up the failing brand.

Not approving of the strategies laid out at a retreat for donors in January 2017, billionaires Mark Pincus and Reid Hoffman started their own political organization, Win the Future. As donors are increasingly tired of seeing their investments go to waste, many have started their own funds or used their access to take over leadership positions themselves—such as Florida billionaire donor Stephen Bittel did to become the Florida Democratic Party chair earlier this year. Democratic billionaire J.B. Pritzker is running for governor of Illinois, and billionaire Tom Steyer is debating running for governor of California. Haim Saban and James Simons poured millions into Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, but they have yet to be listed by the FEC as DNC donors in 2017. Additionally, George Soros has only given $33,900 to the DNC in 2017, but he poured millions of dollars into the Democratic Party in 2016.
Democratic voters have so far refused to fill the fundraising void left by the party’s corporate and wealthy donors. Tom Perez is a painful reminder that the Democratic establishment has suppressed reforms that would prove to voters that the party is prioritizing their interests. Democratic leadership subverted pro-Sanders DNC chair candidate Congressman Keith Ellison’s candidacy, ignored demands to ban superdelegates, and failed to re-enact the ban on lobbyist and PAC donations that Debbie Wasserman Schultz lifted to enable Hillary Clinton to keep up with Sen. Bernie Sanders’ fundraising. Perez’s Unity Tour with Bernie Sanders backfired; he was met with boos at several of the tour’s stops and supporters showed up in favor of Sanders—not the DNC.

*

The DNC has failed to salvage its reputation after former Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned in disgrace for rigging the Democratic presidential primaries. The DNC needs a drastic overhaul to recoup its losses. The party needs to stop relying on Trump’s ineptitude and develop clear messaging of its own. Unfortunately, the current Democratic leadership isn’t capable of mitigating failure in this respect.

I admit, this brightened an otherwise dull day. It's funny how freaking stupid and one-dimensional on that bunch of whacks at the DNC are. Did they really think that publicly stating that they have the right to lie to Democrats, take their money under false pretenses, and decide who the candidates are to and if we don't like it tough shit would go over well? These fools couldn't even find it in their hearts to throw Dems a bone by appointing Ellison as head hack. They want, or maybe the word is NEED, to make sure that we don't get too big for our britches and start thinking that we should have any say in the platform of the 'party'. And now their shit is really flakey since the calls for Pelosi to resign began. An indication of how screwed up they are is Pelosi opened her yap and said::

‘I’m worth the trouble, quite frankly’: A defiant Nancy Pelosi dismisses her critics

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/news/powerpo...

When I read that story all I could think was "this won't end well." And of course like everything else, it's misogyny, not that since the Obama/Pelosi partnership began, Dems have suffered a net loss of 1,042 state and federal Democratic posts, including congressional and state legislative seats, governorships and the presidency. But then again, why should they care? They still get their perks and pay. They can still get their grift and pad their nests. And they work for the same people. They get theirs coming and going.

The Neo-liberals sleazed into power under Bill "I didn't inhale/didn't have sex" Clinton and hopefully die a horrid and painful death on the back of Slick's wife . Now that's KARMA.

Why doesn't Her just do a few more speeches and they can have that paid off in no time! Or why don't they just pass the hat amongst themselves? Maybe shake out the couch cushions at the DNC hideout? I mean, $1.9 million is mere pocket change to these folks.

$225,000.00 for 20 minutes so $1,900,000.00 should take just shy of 169 minutes of really hard "work".
If instead Bubba turns his efforts towards this($500.000.00/20 minutes from Russian Banks), well, by golly, that debt would be knocked out in less than half the time.

I mean, Bill, Obama, and Hillary could wipe away that debt in an hour total. Go give some high dollar speeches for democracy instead of for your personal gain already.

Although that probably smells like Socialism to them. You know, something Bernie or his Bros would do.

would that effectively mean that the DNC would have to declare bankruptcy or just disband? $200 million is not a hole they could dig themselves out of it.

@Dhyerwolf @Dhyerwolf Jared Beck, the plaintiffs' lawyer, has talked about what would happen if the DNC loses and the plaintiffs are awarded a huge sum of money. Undoubtedly the DNC would seek to have the award discharged in bankruptcy. Beck has speculated that the DNC might even try to file for bankruptcy pre-emptively (in advance of judgment being rendered). I'm not sure how much attention the DNC is paying to the lawsuit at this point, but this does raise some questions about the current scenario.

Keep in mind that Debbie Wasserman-Schultz is named individually as a defendant in the DNC fraud lawsuit, so she is potentially facing a large monetary judgment against her personally.

@Centaurea or did they create the appearance of debt in anticipation of losing the lawsuit and needing to declare bankruptcy? If they lose the lawsuit, they will scatter like rats fleeing a sinking ship and no doubt join the Republican party, where their hearts truly belong.

The whole thing is just a scam to them anyway.

Corporations do that a lot when being sued for death/damages they've knowingly committed, transfer money elsewhere so whatever damages they're assessed can't be paid out, especially when seriously pathological, such as would be Hillary's pet donors/campaign helpers from Monsanto. There was no mention of the DNC being broke prior to the failure of the DNC court-room claim of fraud being OK for private enterprises, was there? At least, I don't recall any. Just RUSSIANS!!!

Especially if Saben is withholding donations to the DNC. He made the threat that if Ellison became the head of the DNC, he would stop his donations to it.
This is one of the reasons why Obama got involved and made calls on Perez's behalf.

The DP has stated that they have no intention to change any of their actions and return to being the party that stood for the workers, unions and the other issues that they once stood for.
Both Clinton and then Obama worked hand in hand destroying what is left of the middle and lower classes.
Clinton set the stage for the global economic crisis and Obama let everyone who had a hand in it off.
This betrayal has seen the biggest transfer of wealth since 1928.
Clinton deregulated the banks and then Obama failed to prosecute their CEOs after they committed massive fraud.
How anyone can still support the DP is just mind boggling. Especially when Obama continued PNAC's goals in the Middle East and hundreds of millions people were killed and even more have been misplaced.

Hillary ran on continuing the wars in the Middle East and people who used to be against them were going to vote for her anyway. I can't understand that.

Pelosi's refusal to change anything in the DP shows how tone deaf she is. This includes Schumer and their merry neoliberals.

This article explains how Hillary's speeches to the financial institutions probably cost her the election.

How Hillary Clinton’s Goldman Sachs Speeches Cost Her the 2016 Election

If the democrats think that all they need to do is say they aren't Trump and think that will see people flock back to the party, they are stupider than I thought.

Did they really think that publicly stating that they have the right to lie to Democrats, take their money under false pretenses, and decide who the candidates are to and if we don't like it tough shit would go over well?

When the DNC's lawyer said those things at the hearing in April (on a preliminary motion in the DNC fraud lawsuit), I bet he never expected any of us to hear about it. How many times do the things lawyers say in preliminary hearings get disseminated to the public? Not often, unless it's a very high profile case that the news media thinks will be profitable for them to report on.

I don't believe the DNC and its law firm have spent a lot of time worrying about this lawsuit. I don't think they take it all that seriously. (They don't seem to take seriously much, if anything, of what We the People say.)

We know about what the DNC lawyer said because the plaintiffs' lawyers ordered a copy of the transcript and then made it available to the public online, at which time social media and independent media took over and the word spread. A lot of Dem establishment rank and file either still don't know about it or reject it as "fake news" because Rachel Maddow and WaPo don't report on it.

Heh. As soon as I saw Clinton say she inherited nothing from DNC at recode, I thought for sure she already stole the money and was simply covering in case the lawsuit goes forward. They already moved $$ around with creative accounting and consultant payments. If the class action gets dropped, suddenly yuge numbers of "voters" will fatten the coffers again with great faith or something. That's what I think. Maybe the mid terms will be funded purely with dark money, hahaha! Except Bernie is still outreaching for Ds isn't he?
