So now Bernie is a Russian agent too!

The things you learn on the interwebs.
Hillary fans continue to have bizarre emotional meltdowns all these months later, as a writer for The Nation discovered.

On Thursday afternoon, Senator Bernie Sanders voted against legislation to put new sanctions on both Russia and Iran. He voted for a Russia-only sanctions bill, but opposed the final bill’s inclusion of new sanctions on Iran because, like John Kerry, he feared it would endanger the 2015 nuclear deal.
I tweeted out a screengrab of Sanders’ statement saying as much, and noted that he was one of only two senators to vote no. Then I went about my business. When I checked Twitter an hour later, all hell had broken loose.
So how did people jump to this conclusion that Bernie Sanders, by opposing Democrats, must ipso facto be working at the behest of Russia? It wasn’t entirely organic. And it points to how fake news can infect some of our brethren on the left.
Blame starts with the people with megaphones that peddle this nonsense. Eric Garland, who became a Twitter celebrity with his bizarre “game theory” thread, has explicitly tied Sanders to Russia in his threads. So has Melissa McEwan on her Shakesville blog. “Bernie Sanders, who has visited Russia, has not been, to my knowledge, suspected of being vulnerable by Russian kompromat cultivated on his visits, unlike Donald Trump. But, as I said above, if I intend to say something, I will state it plainly, and here I am plainly stating that I do believe these connections warrant more scrutiny,” she wrote. The Palmer Report, which churns out Russia-related fake news by the pixel load, wrote a post in April: “Bernie Sanders must disclose what he knows about his campaign adviser Tad Devine and Russia.” And of course, uber-grifter Louise Mensch has joined the conspiracy theorists.

The "if you don't hate Russia you are a Russian agent" hysteria has become absolutely pathological for Democrats.
One day in the future these people will look back and be embarrassed, like seeing old pictures of yourself with a mullet.

The attack and smear Bernie campaign starts far, far above the level of tweets.
The NY Times, for example, has been busy smearing Bernie this week.
Of course the source of this campaign is predictable.

On the simplest level, for Sanders to have defied the anti-Russia hysteria constantly pushed by the Democratic party is tantamount to treason. How dare he take a cautious, de-escalating stance on such a major issue! Mainline Democrats are already eager to blame Sanders for everything else, so why not turn this small political action into a major snafu?
One of the biggest critics of Sanders’ vote was Peter Daou, the definition of a centrist extremist if there ever was one. Daou served as an adviser for Clinton in 2008 and is known online for his extreme loyalty to the Democratic establishment. As such, he was eager to tear Sanders for standing against the party line.

As Shaun King pointed out this week, real progressives like Bernie aren't welcome in today's Democratic Party.

push for more Russian sanctions. That fuck-wit's dementia is getting worse by the day. I think he suffers from flashbacks to the time he vacationed at the Hanoi Hilton.

Degenerate Grandpa John McCain Can't Stop Fantasizing About Russian Hackers

"The truth is, Russia has no more attacked American democracy than did the North Vietnamese at the Bay of Tonkin or the Spaniards on the Battleship Maine in 1898.

More importantly, no one else in the world thinks Russia is a serious threat – except the bureaucrats of NATO who make a living concocting such threats."
...
The American people are being brought to ruin by three institutions that are mortal threats to liberty and prosperity.

To wit, the Federal Reserve, the military/industrial/surveillance complex and a sinecured Congress that is burying unborn generations in debt – even as it sanctimoniously presumes that it is doing god’s work by servicing the beltway racketeers who keep it perpetually in office.

On the latter score, it is worth reminding once again. An incumbent House member standing for reelection has a smaller chance of losing his seat than did a Politburo member during the heyday of the postwar Soviet Union.

So it is no wonder that the Congress is filled by Warfare State lifers like Senator John McCain. This senile old fool appears to believe that he is some kind of latter day proconsul of the American Empire – who struts around Washington spreading bellicose lies and flagrant exaggerations about Washington’s self-created enemies.

So doing, McCain helps to keep the Imperial City in thrall to the defense contractors and military and intelligence bureaucracies that he champions out of sheer will to power and ornery bloodlust.

Russian propaganda has been swallowed whole by too many people. It doesn't matter how many times it has been debunked, people are still believing that Russia interfered with the election, changed votes by hacking into the voting machines, annexed Crimea and the many other lies that TPTB wants them to.

Everyone of these assertions are blatant lies, of course. Russia is in Syria at the behest of its constitutionally established government; it is the CIA and its stooges among the Persian Gulf states which provides arms and billions to the head-chopping jihadist radicals, who are the real aggressors in what is now a desolate land of ruin and refugees.

Likewise, it was Washington’s aggression – via funding and political support – in February 2014 that led to a coup on the streets of Kiev and the overthrow of its honestly elected President. The latter made the "mistake" of spurning NATO and the EU in favor of a more palatable economic deal with Moscow – its historic suzerain.

Of course after they overthrow the government they need someone to make sure the next president sticks to their plan, so they funded the same Nazi scourge that they fought against in WWII.
(this seems to be a pattern. Create Al Qaida to fight against the Russians then after abandoning them when it's done, they attack us in Iraq, and now we are arming and funding them again to help us overthrow Assad. Gee, what could go wrong?)

Moreover, it was the virulent anti-Russian neo-Nazi putsch – handpicked by the US Ambassador to Ukraine – that led to insurrection against the Kiev regime in the historically Russian-speaking Donbas and Crimea regions; and then to the 90% referendum vote of the latter to rejoin Russia, which it had been an integral part of for more than 160 years after 1783.

The reason why TPTB are pushing the propaganda so hard is because of two reasons.
They want a war with Russia and have to have an excuse for it. This war has been planned for over a year and NATO has been putting troops in the countries that surround Russia, including missile defense shields in case they throw a few nukes into Russia and want to block Russia from using theirs.

Trump committed the unspeakable sin of suggesting that rapprochement with the Russians and Putin makes more sense than the path to war and fiscal bankruptcy that is underway today. Therefore he has to either get on board or he has to be removed from office.

The spy agencies have been lying to us since they were created, but for some reason people are trusting them on this.

People's critical thinking skills have been eroded because Hillary didn't win the election and they need to hold on to any reason for that, and Russian interference with the election fits the bill. Even though Bernie did vote to put sanctions on Russia but then voted against it when the bill included Iran. SMDH!

@snoopydawg 2600 and 7400 nuclear warheads. I wonder if our missile shields can get them all, on a few minutes' notice?

Predicting targets is a complex equation, but just as an example, if you make a list of the largest 200 metro areas in the US, the five smallest places on the list would be Charleston WV, Tyler TX, Prescott AZ, Chico CA, and Macon GA. Any place larger than those would be definitely included. Also include every dam, power plant and military base, of course.

I always believed that if Hillary won the election, she would have purged the party of any leftists to prevent any more insurgencies. I think this is why she picked Kaine rather than a Hispanic or African American VP as he feared they could upstage her within the party and a threat to the Clintonistas.

But looks like the purge is still on and succeeding. The current power structure of the DNC does not have anybody who supported Sanders during the primaries. Neither does Congressional leadership. All the Obama/Clinton rich donors and left over organizational lackies are still in place.

And in the media you get people like Jennifer Palmieri, who seems to get access to major media anytime she wants, trying to de-legitimatize left policy positions such as $15/hr min. wage. NYTimes links Sander "bernie bros" to the shooter in DC, and on and on.

At this point, the left in the democratic party has no organization power at all. The only power is the popularity of its policies as articulated by Sanders. And that seems to be the last and probably most difficult to purge.

For the longest time, Bernie and supporters were not intertwined with "Russia-gate" accusations until really just recently. The first I saw was in Huffington in an article that basically accused Sander supporters of falling for Russian fake news. The article was a total smear of garbage journalism. BTW one of the writers of the article has joined TYT and off all places The Intercept (Ryan Grim).

So yah, expect the club of Russiagate McCarthyism to be used on Bernie and his supporters.

@MrWebster and so is the Progressive Left. In other words, the only group that hasn't been implicated is Hillary supporters, yet Podesta himself has had financial dealings with Russia, specifically a venture capital fund associated with Putin himself.

We are truly all Russians now.

Except possibly John McCain.

@Sunspots But maybe, just maybe, she has such bloodlust for Putin and innocent Russians because ole Puty didn't play along after the Russians paid what was agreed upon, but she kept calling in "favors." I'd bet money she asked that Snowden be taken care of, and we know how bitter Her can be when Her doesn't get Her way. Wink

They were who the DNC allowed to look at their computers instead of letting the FBI look at them. The owner is a Russian, so put that in your pipe and smoke it.

LeakAwan Brothers Scandal Creates Fears About Scope Of Data Leak

One bombshell that has been all but ignored by the main stream media is that Imran Awan had access to Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s iPad password, meaning that the brothers also had direct access to the notorious DNC emails.

How is this investigation going and will the msm ever cover this story or the DNC lawsuits?

in DC. Yes they are staying so their younger daughter can finish school, but the other reasons are to make sure that the DP doesn't move to far to the left and to protect his legacy. Such as it is. I frankly don't see anything he should be proud of, unless it's the Lily Ledbetter bill Smile

(former Prez of CWA) are all involved with Tom Perez and Chuck Schumer in reorganizing the DNC. I have posted several pieces about this over the past couple months.

Also, Bernie is part of the Senate Dem Leadership--he's the 'Chair Of Outreach.'

Here's an excerpt about Perez demanding the resignations of the DNC staffers after his appointment.

Embattled DNC Asks All Staffers For Resignation Letters
by ALEX SEITZ-WALD

Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez has launched a major overhaul of the party's organization, which has been stung by recent crises — and the DNC has requested resignation letters from all current staffers. . . .

Sanders said Wednesday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that the DNC "absolutely" needed to be overhauled.

"Clearly, the Democratic Party needs a top-down overhaul," Sanders said. "And that top down overhaul means that instead of becoming dependent and being dependent on big money interests for campaign contributions, it has got to become a grassroots party." . . .

Perez has spent his first weeks on the job in “active listening mode,” hearing from Democrats in Washington and in small group meetings across the country before making any big moves. . . .

Earlier this month, Perez held a meeting to discuss the issue with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Sanders, both of whom supported Rep. Keith Ellison in the DNC chair race.

Schumer, pointing to Ellison and Sanders, told Perez, "If he's happy, and if he's happy, then I'm happy,” according to two sources.

Ellison's political director has also been helping to oversee staffing decisions in some key departments in the DNC, according to several sources.

Also, in spite of the Dem Party Charter not allowing for a Deputy Party Chair (according to this piece), both the DNC website and the DNC Wikipedia entry show Ellison as the 'Deputy Chair.'

Have a good one!

to cure this Russian Derangement Syndrome? I thought a little time would likely take care of it, but the usual suspects keep throwing out dribs and drabs of hints and innuendo, dragging this thing out as long as possible.

The way it's going, this may go on for years.
