Finding Hope in a Chant for Peace
[video:https://youtu.be/pfWFeb2lB0A]
I posted this yesterday and later took it down. Suddenly I had become very embarrassed. There are many professional musicians here. While I have been a fine musician at different stages of my life, but now I sing in the car mostly.
I just woke up to an apocalyptic dream (I am trying to get to Detroit with my dad and James Cromwell - go figure), and was able to get back to why I posted it in the first place.
I believe the hope for the future is inside each of us. It is not acted out in grand schemes. It is in the love and goodwill that we give to those around us. And it is in the prayers and loving intentions we will for those afar. Sometimes we might protest, or send money to a cause, but most of what any of us can really do is right here and now. Each moment of every day.
I sing this chant in the car as I drive by myself. There have been many melodies, but a minor key seems to speak to the seriousness of this time. It is not a declaration of some great ability to masterfully love everyone. It is a prayer of hope, humility, and good will for all humankind.

Smiley just wrote another deep, moving poem. Let the artists speak.

What we do....
matters more than what we say. Took me several years in the classroom to really grasp that and provide students with an opportunity to experiment and learn by doing instead of trying to teach kids by telling them what they ought to know.
I think nature helps us to live in the moment and appreciate world. Best of wishes to you. Here's the song they used in our little local march -

Excellent song - thanks - subscribed to her
True . . . saying "I love you" is bullshit without truly showing love and respect. School kids know if you love and respect them.
This chant is meant to be consciousness changing in the act of willing goodness for humankind . . . out of which will grow acts of love.
Make sense?

All I can say is...
more power to you!

I find hope in the belief that
'intelligence' will leak what they heard about Jesus to the government and they say Amen.
Uh, oh !

Yes!
That's the kind of leak we need.

We had this Jewish ex-carpenter who wanted to heal the sick, feed the hungry and educate the children - and they crucified him, rather than letting him lead - although he did return and from his current captivity preaches democracy to the masses...
Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.
A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.
So this happened . . .
Just got home from picking up my kid at school. On the way there, I was singing the chant . . . " I love the . . . people . . . " La di da di da. And I drove past a guy wanting a ride. I haven't picked up hitch hikers for years. I was a female alone, he was a dude. Stronger than me for sure. But I got past him and thought, "I am a hypocritical piece of shit if I don't go back and give that guy a ride." So I went back and got him. He looked like he was someone who had car trouble or something similar. As it turned out, Carlos was a farm worker who had been two days on the job, and his employers had left without paying him or giving him a ride back to town.
I guess we have learned to be afraid of people.

Music - any art - is a
Music - any art - is a vehicle of human expression and a sharing of human emotions and aspirations which touch us all, even where they don't apply to our specific situations but the human condition.
I can't play videos once my female roommate has gone to bed on the other side of a thin wall (the male roommate now on the other side of a different wall is slightly deaf and swears it doesn't bother him, but guys are usually like that, so dunno whether to believe him) so haven't heard it yet, but I would like to say that much as we may appreciate the works of professional musicians, music's a natural human outlet and need common to every society; we have to stop letting a lack of perfection restrict or inhibit us, simply because we're spoilt by studio production values.
Also the Parasite Class believes that humans are not needed for the arts, because machines can do those better... psychopaths are like that.
Sing and play your heart out, because you have one and the right to ease it with release.
Look at what the blues did to help people survive... and they will not take this away from us.
