Lee Camp spoke about this project last week. About a month ago we discussed geoengineering briefly in a comment thread. I have no expertise in this area whatsoever, but some of the rest of you at c99 do. What are your thoughts?

leave it in the ground...
and transition off of fossil fuels...plain and simple.
There are several mitigating ideas...using iron spray in the oceans to promote more plankton growth...planting more trees to trap C...actual C sequestering factories pulling C out of the Atmosphere into a form to bury...mylar space mirrors. But first we need to stop extraction and get off the crack rock of fuel.

I think the banks are highly leveraged in the fracking fields and that's why there is the rush to get the pipelines flowing and trap us into perpetuating their industry.
My quick 2 cents.

There's no need to turn the United States into a desert.

I will look into it ...
to see if I can find anything that I can understand. At first glance it looks like a really stupid, "bandaid on a slit throat", "we can have our cake and eat it too", engineering approach. Too much engineering is about "how can we do a thing" and not so much about "should we do a thing".
The scale of the stratosphere, the rate of build up of CO2 and other things, and this is supposed to make a measurable difference. We shall see, I suppose.
This is like clouds in the sky drifting overhead. but higher up and not made of water but little reflecting particles ‽
@PriceRip Anything that would help

Permaculture & plant trees
The rest sounds like more ignorant meddling. They don't know enough about all the interconnecting effects of their crude changes.
It's like our approach to international relations, which is only brute force, and mainstream medicine's "managing" symptoms instead of dealing with root causes.
