Assume the travel ban is correct
As with the previous order, people from Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Syria and Libya will face a 90-day suspension of visa processing. But Iraq will be removed from the list of countries affected. The inclusion of Iraq in the original order had prompted concerns from the national security community because of the country’s role in fighting terrorism alongside US forces.
Some senior members of ISIS
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi - Iraq-leader
Tarad Muhammad al-Jarba - Saudi Arabia
Faysal Ahmad Bin 'Ali al-Zahrani- Saudi Arabia
Ayad al-Jumaili-Iraq
Waleed Jassem al-Alwan-Iraq
Turki al-Binali- Born Bahrain now stateless
9-11 attackers
15 from Saudi Arabia
2 from the UAE
1 from Egypt
1 from the Lebanon
But after sifting through databases, media reports, court documents, and other sources, Alex Nowrasteh, an immigration expert at the libertarian Cato Institute, has arrived at a striking finding: Nationals of the seven countries singled out by Trump have killed zero people in terrorist attacks on U.S. soil between 1975 and 2015.
Zero.
Six Iranians, six Sudanese, two Somalis, two Iraqis, and one Yemeni have been convicted of attempting or executing terrorist attacks on U.S. soil during that time period, according to Nowrasteh’s research. (Nowrasteh focused on plots against the U.S. homeland, which presumably Trump cares most about, rather than other terrorism-related offenses, like supporting a foreign terrorist group or trying to join a jihadist organization overseas.) Zero Libyans and zero Syrians have been convicted of doing the same. “Foreign-born terrorism is a hazard,” Nowrasteh argues, “but it is manageable given the huge economic benefits of immigration and the small costs of terrorism.
Assuming Trumps is right in a mad world that travel should be banned from certain countries, then he has erred on the choice of country to ban travel from.
Isis consists mainly of Iraqis and Syrians however it also seems pretty global
My only conclusion is that terrorists come from a pretty global source, picking some countries and ignoring others seems to be a pretty futile exercise.
Then again we have forgotten the actual reasons for terrorism, wilfully and deliberately.
They must stay over there, so we can bomb them some more and keep this whole War on Terror well fed. Think profit.
Now where is that extra $54 billion for our already grossly obese MIC?
On with the xenophobia show Hair Trump - hatred fuels hatred.

A continuation..
The US continues to play Whack-A-Mole with Muslim countries and the Arab street.
I want a Pony!
A pretty apt similie.
I wonder why we call the Arab populace the Arab street.
Its Origins are none too nice
http://lclab.berkeley.edu/papers/arab-street-published.pdf
I somehow sensed it implied
looking down on Arabs is some way. "He was a person of the streets" just sounds at least faintly disreputable.
The little people.
I want a Pony!
That does not really answer my question.
I did not ask what you mean by the term "Arab street."
I asked why we use that term to refer to the Arab populace.
Every country and region has people who are not the government or demagogues, plutocrats, etc, but just people like me. However, we do not say "the US street" or "the North American street" or "the European Street" or "the Asian street." Why do we use "street" only to describe people in Arab countries?
Pondering
Clearly I need to adjust my thinking.
I want a Pony!
Things we hear over and over can come to seem correct.
Could it be that many Arabs

Sweden has a unique solution to local terrorists.
They have re-instituted conscription to stop the Russian threat.

A bunch of the Saudi 9-11 attackers came in through a "VISA express" program that gave Saudis fast track visas to come into the US. The program was suspended for a while, but then re-started. But I guess money talks. So it is not just that the Saudis are not on the list, they have a special program to allow them easy and quick access into America.
I remember the Poles who loyally supported Bush and the Iraq invasion were slapped in the face by Bush by refusing to make tourist visas readily available to them. This became a very sore point in Poland after being one of thee most vocal supporters of the invasion.
The administration of visas is color coded--with green being the operative color which opens the doors.
I'm sure
there are many countries in the world that would like to ban us terrorist amerikans from visiting their countries.
Unfortunately, that would likely get them bombed.
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
Indeed and many are still pissed off with our help in
Trump claims he used Obama's list of 7 countries, compiled
with the benefit(?) of eight years in office. So far, I've not heard anyone on the right or the alleged left contradict that. Trump dropped Iraq, so now it's six countries.
Also, I am not sure if "travel ban" is accurate. I know it's the term that media use, but I'm not sure it's accurate.
Beacaue 7 have bipartisan accord. probably
Other than "normal" air traffic movement, immigration is hard
and why would a Yemenite who got bombed out of their town or village flee into the arms of the attackers? Other than no one wants women and children from war-wracked countries?
I wish for just a second that Americans (not the Government)would consider where they might try to exit TO if their city was bombed as were others here. Dare to drive cross-country? That's a start. But with what, into also freaked-out people? They won't want you unless you have friendly relatives. And then maybe.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
People from US bombed countries want to come here
because they figure it is the only safe country where they can hope to not get bombed again?

I think we would be safer if we put a travel ban on
lightening. Actually, make it lightening while traveling in a blue car with studded tires and a decal that says "Trump 2020".
Terrorists are global
The 9/11 masterminds met in Malaysia and those who carried out the plot were trained in Afghanistan and in the USA. Their allegiance is to the Caliphate, that place that they are striving to build and maintain on earth while they await the apocalypse.
