If this be treason, make the most of it; another Obama fail
Treason:
Violation of the allegiance owed to one’s sovereign or state; betrayal of one’s country: the Constitution of of the United States (Article III, Section 3 declares, “Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying war against them or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.”
Any betraying, treachery, breach of faith, or betrayal of trust.Webster’s New Twentieth Century Dictionary Unabridged; Second Edition 1968
Assumption:
1. John Kerry represents the government of Barrack Hussein Obama
2. either John Kerry obeys his master or John Kerry is rogue.
Inferences: If John Kerry is obedient, he is spouting the party line
If John Kerry is a rogue, why hasn't spineless Obama fired him?
The logical conclusion, if such logic can be said to be applicable to the American dysfunctional political system, is that most likely Kerry is Obama's mouthpiece.
With this line of thinking, I was intrigued when surfing YouTube to find this: John Kerry's mistakenly revealing the truth of Obama's Syrian misadventure(s). (3 minute video)
Further research, yielded this article appearing in an unlikely location: the New York Times
You may find one of Kerry's quotes either humorous or maddening, perhaps both:
“The problem is the Russians don’t care about international law, and we do.”
But the Times, as may be expected by now, gutted a critical portion of the audio, leaked from a September, 2016 meeting between Kerry and approximately two dozen Syrians attending the United Nations meeting.
The following contains the leaked audio, the vocal quality of which is variable. Note some speakers are using Arabic, hence the need for a translator. Duration is 36:50. The key part is at about 26:00 but there are lesser bon mots at about 18:00 and 21:00.
I am unable to get the video to mount but this is the URL: Obama's policy in Syria
The nugget here is that Kerry says that Obama knew, prior to Russian intervention, that ISIL was growing stronger but wanted to wait until Assad was willing to talk to these "moderate" rebels, you know: ISIL, Al-Qaeda, Nusra front, etc.
Then Vladimir had finally had enough of Obama's dithering and acted strongly by directly entering the battle.
Whether or not "the red line in the sand" was a good idea or not, this is yet another case of Obama's many misjudgments about Syria (and Libya, and Afghanistan, etc.).
Obama, with Killary's connivance abetted arms shipments from Libya to these "moderate" terrorists and did so knowingly. A somewhat more indirect route to accomplish the arming of rebels was through military equipment sent to Saudi, Qatar, etc., which were known to be trans-shipped to Syria.
Let's get back to the Treason definition quoted above, but this time with added emphasis:
“Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying war against them or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.”
Why is this treason? Has Assad's Syrian government ever attacked the United States? NO.
Has ISIL ever attacked the United States? YES.
Has Al-Qaeda ever attacked the United States? YES.
Are we not allegedly at war with both Al-Qaeda and ISIL? YES. Does this then not make them our enemies? Most people would say YES.
Does directly and indirectly aiding our enemies constitute treason? If not, please enlighten me as to what acts would qualify.
In my opinion, part of Obama's shameful legacy will be treason. And a failed treason at that, in the same manner as Benedict Arnold's treason failed to produce his desired results.
Patrick Henry, Revolutionary firebrand said it best: If this be treason, make the most of it". Bumbling, fumbling, stumbling Obama could not even pull his own treason off!
Barack Obama, a president who will live in infamy.

More American projection.
The presence of Russian troops in Syria is in full accordance with International Law.
The presence of US troops in Syria is not.
Blaming the Russians for things we ourselves do seems to be an epidemic in Washington these days.
The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?

A truth of the nuclear age/climate change: we can no longer have endless war and survive on this planet. Oh sh*t.
Obama's first act(s) of treason
(be gentle, I'm a poorly studied historian) begins with the continued support for expanded NSA activities first (illegally) put into place by George the Lesser. Add to that, his severe treatment of whistle blowers where he extra-judicially denies their 1st amendment rights followed by extreme punishments, harassment of family members, generally ruining their lives.
All the while doing nicey nice (don't get me wrong they are imporant) throwing the left a bone or 10 by creating more federally protected areas. Which may not do much good as it seems corporate America seems to be able to sue their way around the restrictions.
Then, worst and most obvious of all -- TPP. Negotiated in secret, and if that wasn't enough it serves to usurp states rights, consumer rights, and indirectly drives down wages along with depriving suits in any form of court in law and equity.
Obama is a criminal on the same, if not worse level as Nixon or the Bushes or anyone else you care to mention.

There is also Guantanamo and the "torture a few folks" issue.
What happened to speedy trials and juries? What happened to self-incrimination?
What happened to the Bill of Rights?
If cruel and unusual punishment is not permitted what make them think cruel and unusual interrogation is permitted?
Since torture is useless for obtaining accurate information it is clearly a form of punishment without bothering with the details of a trial and conviction.
I had an essay on that very topic at least half written,
when I diverted to beginning one that I could tie to the holiday season. http://caucus99percent.com/content/sleights-santa-and-republic
I intend to finish the other piece at some point. I have so many drafts in progress and still more going round in my head--perfect example of adult ADD.
I wonder if folks will stop saying "folks"
so much after Obama leaves the White House. Even when I was a fan of his, I thought someone born and raised in Hawaii's saying "folks" was an affectation. Then, far too many folks for my taste followed suit, especially on MSNBC. I probably broke something vital rolling my eyes every time I heard it or saw it.. Actually, now that I think about it, I have not been hearing it as often as I did the first few years, which gives me hope for change.
And he kept torturing in black holes, though Amnesty International protested. And don't even think about Chelsea Manning.
One thing in which Democrats far surpass Republicans is holier than thou hypocrisy. Republicans say, hell, yes, we tortured and we'd do it again. Democrats say it's horrible and cannot stand, then do it secretly. But, both were responsible for torture.
BTW, Obama said "some folks."

For the sake of discussion,
not that I have any use for Obama or the clusterfuck we are aiding and abetting in Syria...is it treason when we aid and comfort our enemies in fighting somebody else? The US is helping Al Q and ISIS fight the Syrian gov't, not the US gov't so it is not treason.
Kerry's BS about US caring about int'l law is indeed snort inducing.
I think the issue is that we are aiding
al Quaida and ISIS, period. The fact that they are fighting Syria isn't really part of the accusation. Not only are they (AQ&IS) our enemies, there are laws specifically banning any aid to them.
"I’m a human being, first and foremost, and as such I’m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole.” —Malcolm X
And in a sane country
arming ISIS and AQ would be the very definition of treason. Hell, excusing Saudi "participation" in 9/11 should qualify as treason but not when its in American business interests, no matter how many Americans are killed. Those Americans are only peons in the grand scheme of things and are as expendable as the civilians we kill every day in the Middle East - just collateral damage, nothing to see here folks. And hey, what's a little blowback among "friends?"
