What and Where Was the Explosion in Texas Last Night?
Last night, November 26, 2016, there were a series of explosions. The first four were WTF is that? type smaller explosions that scared our dogs. The last one, occurring just before 6 PM, was very loud and shook the house. We ran outside to look around, but could not see anything, so it was not close.
When the fertilizer plant blew up in West, Texas, we heard and felt that explosion as well. West is about 50 miles from here. We live halfway between Corsicana and Hillsboro, Texas. West is west of us, but the blast last night sounded like it came from the east.
Last night and this morning I have searched news sources on the Internet and have not found mention of it. Interestingly, the only news sources that popped up were MSM. When the explosion occurred in West, I was able to find local blogs and personal reports.
I haven't had the chance to ask anyone local about it yet.
Please write in the comments if you are able to find any information about an explosion in Northeast Texas at 6 PM on 11/26/2016.

Have you called your sheriff's office?

I didn't think about calling the sheriff . . .
They would know. Thanks!

You live near MCgregor?

McGregor is about 70 miles away
. . . probably too far away.
Did they have another explosion last night?

Then it was a nitrogen tank
exploding at Space X

Time of night is different (10:30 pm) than when essayist heard explosions, however.

Found nada
Unless someone died or this was an unplanned series of explosions, I doubt you will find anything, sadly. Are there any chemical or industrial plants near you? Quarries? Oil and gas drilling operations? Military bases or testing grounds?
I'm just speculating, but if these were planned events, then I'm sure the local officials were told about this. If unplanned, then unless emergency services were called and police or fire/EMT personnel showed up, the odds of learning what this was about are likely to remain a mystery.

Probably no one died . . .
I'm guessing a pipeline. There was pipeline explosion in the Texas Panhandle a couple of days ago. One in east Texas a few months ago.
We have 2 gas pipelines running through our property and a crude oil double pipeline running parallel a couple hundred feet away. It must have been some distance away. We live on a hill and went outside after the last one and didn't see anything.
It was at the scale I would have expected it to be front page news somewhere. Sort of creepy looking at local news . . . DFW, Waco, Corsicana, Tyler . . . all dumb meaningless shit.
Gas/oil company cover up stuff?

Can't count on the "news"?
Years ago we were awoken to phone calls from our out of state friends when our neighborhood was closed off and a veteran suffering from PTSD near July 4th was "suicided by cops". Nothing in the news about it for days.
Lately, in my working class burb, we've been hearing guns going off almost every night. No news. No cops. No nothing.
They just report on important things like the Kardashians and what's on TV.

You might try spotcrime.com.
It's a free service that sends daily emails with crime reports from a defined radius of your address. It's pretty comprehensive.
Interesting website!
Crimes were localized in certain areas. Some areas have lots of crime and others have no crime. Didn't see anything for our area.

Same here! I have zero-crime neighbors and no thefts
Local (to me) crime is all in the Hamlet of Varna NY. Yes, that is the official name. I vote there.

Holy cow!
Zero arrests or crimes reported within 15 miles of my road, but man do they make a lot of traffic related arrests on a road 15 miles away. Funny thing is, I've traveled that road well over 100 times and do not recall ever having seen a cop. Weird!
Also, a couple of arrests were for speeding. A bazillion years ago when I studied for my driver's license I remember considering the absurdity of the fact that the only traffic violation you could NOT be arrested for in the state of Texas was speeding. Guess that changed.
Still think it's stupid to arrest someone for a broken tail light, but it's what they do if they feel like it.
I still think the dispatcher at the sheriff's office
or city police office, if you have one, would give you info.

They probably know . . .
but I hate making phone calls (phobia almost). Had to go out of town this morning and will check with my neighbor who may have found out about it at church this morning.
I posted the question on Facebook and a local friend had not heard it. She suggested hunters at the huge ranch south of us. That might mean local boys were playing with dynamite out there in them woods last night. Yikes! Even worse!

Was it possibly tremors?
I have been trough several low-level quakes and two made booming noises (I swear). Have you checked USGS for tremor activity then?

Fun to visit the USGS site . . . thanks
Not one here, but Oklahoma had another one.
