I haven't even got angry yet, they lost the Senate, House and SCOTUS all in one go.
They had already lost the House massively in 2010 and the
the Senate in (2014, was it? or 2012?). The lost the SCOTUS when Obama nominated Kagan and pro-choice Republican Garland--and couldn't even get Garland in. Actually, they lost the SCOTUS when Democrats allowed Thomas and one anti-choice Justice after another to get confimed. They wneed not continue losing the SCOTUS if Democratic Senators do their jobs as well as Republican Senator do theirs for their base, whether in the minority or the majority.
I would argue that they were there to win. The Senate
was favourable, I even think the House was if they had rejected hugging Wall St/Banks/Corporations and the elite to their dear little hearts. If they had had the guts to fight.

You did this when you failed miserably to hold any individual human miscreants responsible for the financial meltdowns and mortgage frauds and you perpetuated it when the DOJ interfered in the email and Clinton Foundation investigations. If a country doesn't have justice it has nothing and the life and welfare and liberty of every single individual is threatened. I honestly think this was a big driver of the rejection of the Democratic Party. You stand for nothing and you have no ethical or moral core.

...but only one of many. The whole leadership of the Democratic Party and their media allies need to be cleared out. I am probably in a minority at this site, but I think the abject failure of the current Democratic Party leadership offers an opportunity to wrest the Democratic party from the hands of Wall St. and their stooges. Not a great chance, mind you, but a much better chance than if Hillary Clinton had sneaked in, and probably a better chance than creating a third party or expanding the Green party so that it is electorally relevant.
