Kos is now Supporting Bernie to Head DNC - Seriously

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. It's more absurdist theater at TOP. Here's the link (feel free not to check it out)"

We lick our wounds, we grieve, and then we fucking fight

It's a Bullshit, slimy, weasel-like thing to do, his sudden conversion the minute his favored candidate, the one who could not be criticized at his website without being censored or banned, lost to a realty TY show host with a record of business and personal failures a mile long. Which, of course, does not surprise. But this is who Markos Moulitsas is - a political hack and opportunist always on the make. A mercenary with no core beliefs and values other than one: to do whatever will benefit him and his. He was for Hillary when it looked like that might lead to more money and career advancement for himself. Now he's back to his old carnie ways, trying to fool us with another shell game into believing he is a progressive who cares for Sanders' agenda.

Many are hammering him for it, and rightly so, in the comments. However, the predictable bashing of Bernie supporters is going on. And of the media. Yes the media destroyed her campaign, not her own flaws and potentially illegal and definitely immoral actions. And racist young people. Don't forget them. And the dumb voters.

Oh, and not to be left out, also all of us at c99 because we have so much power to influence the election and throw it to Trump. Who knew we were kingmakers over here? Makes me giddy knowing that I, who called the election for Clinton publicly here and on You Tube, and all the rest of you, secretly ensured Trump's victory.

I left a few comments there because I couldn't help myself after I saw the Great Markos turn on a dime as soon as his meal ticket crapped the bed. Couldn't help myself. Mea Culpa.

We need him in the Senate.
Maybe Nina Turner at DNC. Wouldn't that be entertaining? She strikes me as a lady that doesn't take any shit. She could clean house like nobody else.
I did drop by TOP for 5 minutes early this morning and saw that. First visit in 8 months, and I see no reason to return.
Buy the ticket, take the ride. He bet the site on Clinton, and now I expect it will drift away. No great loss. The Internet is a big place.

I'm not from Ohio, but, I've read that at one time, teacher's unions had a problem with Nina for siding with ultra-fiscal conservative Republican Governor John Kasich, and the corporatist Dem mayor of Cleveland (Frank G. Jackson) to expand Charter Schools. Frankly, that gives me pause.

bitter, childish, nobodies, to deciders of elections. That's quite a feat for us here, isn't it?

I feel a deep sense of schadenfreude at their whining, especially since I'm batting 100 with my predictions this cycle. Okay, it was only 3 predictions: Trump would win the Republican primary, Sanders would win the Democratic primary (he would have if it wasn't for the fraud and cheating), and that Trump would beat Clinton, but it'd be close. I predicted all of that without needing to look at any polls, because I simply paid attention to the state of the nation. Wonder if that makes me a better guy to listen to than Nate Silver.

It caused me to nearly laugh my fiddly parts off. The comments section was great. Plenty of "I told you so" backlash. TOP should be entertaining for a couple of days.

Now. I can't wait for Trump to undergo prosecutions from various, mounting legal problems. He won't have enough time to fuck up the nation. That is my reasonable hope. I wonder if L. Lynch, AG extraordonaire, will submit her resignation or maybe start looking for special prosecutors? hmmmm.

This morning I started visiting all the neoliberal sites that had banned me: Daily Kos, Balloon Juice, Booman Tribune. There was a lot of brave talk about what the Dems should do next. You know, "get together", figure this out, blah blah blah. But I'm banned. They didn't listen to me this last year and went as far as not allowing me to give a different opinion. So my question is: If the neoliberals plan to fight their total defeat, who are they going to let into the tent?

Running the second-most distrusted, disliked candidate in the history of US polling strongly suggests that they have a lot of fences to mend. I voted Green for President, and from the Democratic Party's behavior I'm not sure I'd consider going back and working for the people who gave us this mess. Chuck Schumer and Wendy Wasserman will be there to oversee the counterattack. Anyone have much hope for the current Dems to somehow revive this stinking mess?

Together. I figured that was meant to entice all the BernieBros back to her side of the feeding trough, implying that we're all on the same team. Uh, no. Teammates don't do what Clinton & Co. did to Bernie Sanders and to his supporters. To us.

If we're Better Together, why were Clinton, Inc. and its minions across media so busy telling us to STFU and GTFO? Telling us, who needs you?

Guess "together" was limited to their way or the highway. (Very Bush-league, btw.) That it meant us falling in line docilely. Seen and not heard, because it's her turn and she's inevitable.

I hope that this election has made both Clintons radioactive, and that the country can finally be rid of that uniquely corrupt couple--and their benighted foundation. We shall see.

Iconic politics never works. Sanders may be able to point the way for the next wave of leftist, progressive politics in the US.

I have very little faith that the Democratic leadership is capable of firing itself. People like Chuck Schumer, Wasserman Schultz et al have continued to put up faux Dems for Congress. I see no way of separating them from the reins of power. Perhaps it would be best to start gathering up Dems on the left to an informal caucus and start there.

SNIPPET FROM GUARDIAN ARTICLE:

She was the Democratic candidate because it was her turn and because a Clinton victory would have moved every Democrat in Washington up a notch. Whether or not she would win was always a secondary matter, something that was taken for granted. Had winning been the party’s number one concern, several more suitable candidates were ready to go. There was Joe Biden, with his powerful plainspoken style, and there was Bernie Sanders, an inspiring and largely scandal-free figure. Each of them would probably have beaten Trump, but neither of them would really have served the interests of the party insiders.

And so Democratic leaders made Hillary their candidate even though they knew about her closeness to the banks, her fondness for war, and her unique vulnerability on the trade issue – each of which Trump exploited to the fullest. They chose Hillary even though they knew about her private email server. They chose her even though some of those who studied the Clinton Foundation suspected it was a sketchy proposition.

To try to put over such a nominee while screaming that the Republican is a rightwing monster is to court disbelief. If Trump is a fascist, as liberals often said, Democrats should have put in their strongest player to stop him, not a party hack they’d chosen because it was her turn. Choosing her indicated either that Democrats didn’t mean what they said about Trump’s riskiness, that their opportunism took precedence over the country’s well-being, or maybe both.

Clinton’s supporters among the media didn’t help much, either. It always struck me as strange that such an unpopular candidate enjoyed such robust and unanimous endorsements from the editorial and opinion pages of the nation’s papers, but it was the quality of the media’s enthusiasm that really harmed her. With the same arguments repeated over and over, two or three times a day, with nuance and contrary views all deleted, the act of opening the newspaper started to feel like tuning in to a Cold War propaganda station. Here’s what it consisted of:

And BTW, that may have been a body double for the concession speech. Which I have not seen, spending the morning traveling to more fertile pastures. Daughter gets $4K per donation, couple pay $6K per egg! Or $20K for a guaranteed baby (riiight). Very high-end, spa-like at the clinic, micro-living rooms for couples after main packed waiting room. I don't like Dean at all now, and when he ran I was all for Kucinich, but he did win back the house and the Senate in pretty quick time considering.

It could be said that Bush was so unpopular-- that helped. But, Dean changed things there. He changed them in what would be obvious ways, but they're obvious to us, not to the Clintons or the people a top the party both before and after him.

His big innovation was a 50 State Strategy, because apparently geography was not the DNC's strong suit till he got there. It shows just how elitist the neoliberal Wall St Dems are that they wanted to write off the deep south and eventually the rust belt they created and focus on keeping the country divided but close with the north east and the west coast. He was mocked for the 50 state strategy because the DLC or their remnants didn't think it would work and didn't want to waste the money, or they just liked the divisions as they were.

When he left though it was business as usual, and the party squandered the gift he gave them. If the Dems had passed card check and stood with warehouse workers instead of Amazon executives, maybe things would be different. But I've no love lost for a candidate who wouldn't allow "No DAPL" signs at her rallies. If you can't fight envirnonmental racism, what the hell will you fight for?

That's my version of events, I'm I'm sticking with it.

There is no justice. There can be no peace.

In 2012, Obama/Biden polled 332,000 in Milwaukee County
In 2016, Clinton/Kaine polled 289,000 in Milwaukee County

If we were to delve deeper into the district, and perhaps discover that the "missing" 43,000 votes were concentrated in the districts with the highest densities of african-americans, how then would DDO's narrative run? Whose racism is in play at that point? The African-Americans who can't be bothered to go and vote for the white lady from an upper-middle class Chicago suburb? The most compelling element of the narrative of race and politics in contemporary America is that a startling fraction of African Americans were not sufficiently motivated to vote, regardless of the apparent and overt hostility of Trump and many of his supporters towards their community. I submit to you that the reason is simple: 50 years since the Great Society movement, an enormous fraction of the African American electorate simply does not believe that it matters at all which white person is in charge.

So, as the denialists attempt to play a race card here, we need to keep in mind that HRC explicitly played the race card, insisting that she was the white candidate who "listened to the black community", unlike that condescending and culturally insulated new england jew; and that this explained why black voters in the south should and would vote for her.

And sure, but they surely did. At least, the fraction who vote in Democratic primaries did. Too bad for HRC and DDO's narrative that the rest of them -- as well as millions upon millions of urban african americans in the north -- weren't swept away by her graciousness's accommodating paternalism.
