Yes, Virginia, Hillary is the Enemy.
It's telling when fellow Liberals negate the merits of my argument by declaring them solely a by-product of "Right Wing Hate Speech". Or by declaring that Hillary is being held up to a higher standard than all the other corrupt politicians before her because she's a girl.
It's telling because this election, like no other before it, has changed the political landscape. It has upended my sense of justice in a way that has permeated almost every aspect of my worldview. It has taken my years of loyalty and activism and turned me into a cynic who views The Clintons as a representation of unchecked money, power, corruption, and hubris that infects our polity.
After witnessing the depraved power grab by the DNC, after reading the WikiLeaks emails and coming to grips with the Machiavellian lengths Clinton's campaign has gone in this election, I am no longer willing to tow the party line in the spirit of "unity". This is not about the Left vs. the Right anymore. This is about the powerful vs the powerless.
I am deeply deeply disturbed by Hillary's "private" positions on fracking; the TPP; Social Security; intervening in the outcomes of foreign elections; the sale of arms to Saudi Arabia; and the fact that Bush/Cheney war criminals like Richard Armitage and John Negroponte are endorsing her while fellow Liberals wring their hands over the daily carnage of women and children in Aleppo yet reward this immoral war profiteering with their vote.
I am outraged that the Clinton Campaign and the DNC colluded with the media in an effort to "elevate" Trump's campaign by instructing the media in a strategy memo to take his campaign seriously ensuring he would be the "Pied Piper" candidate in the GOP primary. Consequently, Trump was given $2 Billion worth of free advertising, and now that he is the nominee, we are being blackmailed into voting for HER. I'm not sure which is worse, the gobsmacking venality on the Clinton's part in hatching Trump's grotesque candidacy with the media, or the gun the Clinton's are holding to our head now that the monster is loose.
Which brings me to why I am so disgusted with the media and their complicity to deceive us. They have effectively become the propaganda arm of the powerful with little pushback from a large portion of the electorate. I cannot wrap my head around the blind allegiance of so many to the stinking rot of what the Democratic Party has become.
Despite what the DNC would like us to believe, this election is not about Donald Trump. It is not about the Russians. It is not about the Republicans. It is not about SCOTUS. It is not even about Bernie. It is about the breath taking scope of the corruption that has been revealed and that we can never un-see.
So, in response to the plea that was made here yesterday over our "misguided" misgivings about voting for Hillary, I submit this essay to refute that patronizing assumption. As my own eyes can see what is happening, it is clear that Hillary Clinton and the powerfully corrupt political machine she is fueling are, in fact, the Enemy.
Comments
Excellently stated...
The Clinton's and the DNC are so corrupt and anathema to everything I believe that I could never support her, or the Democratic party ever again.
If my junk was on fire, and Hillary had the last extinguisher on the planet and all I would need to do to get it would be to cast my vote for her I know exactly what course of action I would take.
Sit back and try to enjoy the smell of Barbecue.

I will never vote for Hillary Clinton--and in case they get any wise ideas, I'll never vote for that mealy-mouthed daughter of hers, either, should she ever run for office.
I used to think that "how they raised Chelsea" was one of the few things to like about Bill and Hill--but once she opened her mouth and started spewing absolute nonsense on the campaign trail, on behalf of her mother, it occurred to me that "geesh, maybe it was a bad idea to raise the kid in the bubble after all?"
My first tell tale sign of how they raised her
Was when hillary ran in 2008 as a rust belt populist against Obama's elitism while Chelsea worked as an investment banker. If they were such Liberals yearning to help The people, it sure didn't rub off on their daughter like it did with Amy Carter.

Wreaking havoc is the best thing to do.
For me, it means President Trump.
Messing up the Republican party, and helping to get the Democratic party out of the Klutches of the Kriminal Klintons. Getting all their cronies kicked in the same direction as Donna Brazille. No more lying, parsing, hedging, "as it stand now" or public and private positions.

I don't respond well to extortion or any other kind of manipulation, for that matter. If the Trump "elevators" are holding a gun to my head, I feel that it's my duty to turn it right back on them. It's no great loss: we were going to have an asshole mega-rich president either way, but only one of them came by his nomination through an apparently democratic process. And he managed to do so in spite of relentless propaganda. The fact that he does not appear to want to serve as POTUS (I think he's in it to help HRC win) is actually kind of a plus for me.

I can't help myself. Schadenfreude is a thing with me, and today it drove me to the comment threads at TOP. It was less funny than I thought because I found a number of people that I had a lot of respect for running around shouting "Comey!!! Russia!!!" These are people who saw through the Obama farce and who supported Bernie, but they stuck around TOP. Now they're completely sucked in.
Both tragic and frightening.
I'd give you 5 stars but gotta quibble: Hillary was tottering
When the music stopped. I completely share your analysis and view. I left the Dem party after Hillary was annointed, after over 30 yrs as a very supportive member. I was never naive, having grown up outside DC, but the utter arrogance, the hubris, the contempt for the people who counted on the Democrats to speak for them is, thanks to Wikileaks, now revealed in all its ugliness. I hope to hell this incompetent, corrupt, warmonger goes down in flames. Can that party ever recover? Think cockroaches.
Thank you for this essay.
I'm still highly distressed at the other one, and what has become of someone I used to greatly respect. You deflated much of the stress of that situation with your writing, and I am very grateful.

Yes, I agree
That's the other side of all of this. The loss of friends I once respected regurgitating the talking point from Hillary sycophants and paid surrogates whose job it is to lie to us. I still haven't processed the implications of it. Maybe we should start a support group. Seriously.

an excellent rebuttal to the latest onslaught of Hillbot trolls who get their kicks coming to cc99%. I guess they miss all of us who haven't fallen prey to the fear, hate, lies and propaganda. Now they have to come over here to get their fix of outrage at those of us who are the left. The latest talking points seems to be that not voting for Hillary is trashing Bernie or aiding and abetting the right wing conspiracy, and the Russians against poor liberal decent Killary.
Man oh man these people are delusional and in desperate need of deprogramming. Talk about being brainwashed. Dkos and many so called 'left' progressive's as well as the establishment media has done a number on these people. The Russians did it is the equivalent of the dog ate my homework. How stupid or frightened do you have to be to fall for the Clinton's politicizing their criminal global enterprise and blaming anyone who dares to tell the truth.
I think I've figured it out
Hillary is using a perverted psychology - tell the truth, it's so horrible no one will believe it.

the captive media is the worst
I'm used to party hacks, the rotating villain of the month game and other means of deception. But the press as full-time propaganda purveyor has taken us to a very dangerous place indeed. From the Bernie Blackout through the current Wikileaks blackout+substance-free Blame Putin campaign, and everything in between, the mainstream media has been appallingly dishonest and manipulative. Rachel Maddow, Chris Hayes and so many others are covered in sleaze. Even more than the complicit DOJ, the use of the press ot manufacture consent is a direct assault on our democracy. And unfortunately, a very effective one. The fact that Clinton, Inc., its shareholders, and its subsidiary, the DNC, are willing to deploy this weapon against us lets me know that they are decidedly not the lesser evil and must therefore be defeated. Four years of a Trump presidency would be a relatively small price to pay to beat back this kind of tyranny.
Exactly.
This is my worst fear. We are being undermined on both fronts. The blackouts and the disinformation. Our impotence has never felt so acute. It's tragic.
There is always Music amongst the trees in the Garden, but our hearts must be very quiet to hear it. ~ Minnie Aumonier
Between the feeling of impotence and the paralyzing
fear, they've got us right where they want us: with no choice (or the only "sane" choice, as they keep telling us) but to reward their lying and cheating by voting for Hillary. The truth is, we still have other options. I no longer have any hope that the DNC can be reformed, so it has to be destroyed. I'm going to vote for Trump in the hopes that his election will cause chaos in the GOP, but more importantly for me, in the DNC.
Wonderful post, by the way!
Wait, what?
I am outraged that the Clinton Campaign and the DNC colluded with the media in an effort to "elevate" Trump's campaign 3 months before he announced his candidacy in a strategy memo instructing the media to take his campaign seriously and make sure he was the "pied piper" candidate in the GOP primary. Consequently, Trump was given $2 Billion worth of free advertising, and now that he is the nominee, we are being blackmailed into voting for him.
Really?
If that's true, can we please consider the fact that Trump and Clinton may be working together? Doesn't that piece of evidence make it much more likely to be true?

Isn't it "blackmailed into NOT voting for him"?
Or did the original poster mean "blackmailed into voting for HER"?
Doesn't make sense the Clinton Cabal would blackmail people into voting against Her - even though a lot of us, free(d) of the Fear Bug, are doing or have done just that.
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
No, the idea is that the Clinton machine wanted
Trump to be a Pied Piper for the Republican vote, basically wrecking any chance that there would be a reasonable Republican opponent to her for Republican voters to vote for.

Especially when both Clinton and Trump - now that the latter appears to be potentially getting serious about the Presidency and as Hillary self-implodes and her health, both physically and mentally, fails - have similar running-mates/back-up Presidents ready even on their own to enact the fascist agenda of TPTB. Guess who I suspect may have arranged/approved this, in case Hillary can't be cheated in or otherwise make it until the election?
(All bolding and other emphasis in following quotes is mine.)
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/jul/15/mike-pence-donald-trump-...
And Pence is evidently a far-right psychopathic windsock paired with another psychopathic blow-hard billionaire, neither of which would help balance the other in serving TPTB against the public interest, even if they had any choice under corporate 'law'.

http://readersupportednews.org/opinion2/277-75/38166-by-picking-anti-abo...
Going by his past, it indicates to me that he's a Party loyalist where he does not control. As President, he would, provided TPTB approved or didn't care.
And he's another opportunistic medical-rape-imposing windsock paired with one operator of the Clinton corruption machine for whom rules and laws - and decency - do not apply. Neither of which would help balance the other in serving TPTB against the public interest, even if they had any choice under corporate 'law'.
Took a break to watch missed Redacted episodes while eating - hadn't known/recalled (does seem to ring a faint bell? Or was that perhaps just speculation about something of the kind?) that Maddow (not that this was astounding, considering,) was one of those invited to a message-framing Clinton cocktail party for media and top Clinton staffers - fully off-the-record, of course - prior to Hill starting her run. (Starting around 16:40, if anyone else missed this.)

Wow! That essay is freaking incredible/inspirational! Thanks so much for writing it. Too many great points to comment on them all, but regarding:
As it always was... Bernie brought us back to the issues and thanks to Julian Assange and various moral and brave whistleblowers, we can hope that Hillary's antics brings on the complete collapse of government now for the clean sweep required to clean out the corruption while life and the concept of democracy still remain.
