Barbara Lee for President

Barbara Lee for President_0.jpg

Jill is at 2%. I don't expect her to get enough air time to even put her in the consciousness of Usaian voters. My preference, World Workers might get a few thousand votes.

There are two insane people running on major party tickets, both of whom should be in jail for numerous offenses and, at least in the case of H. Clinton, crimes against humanity. One of them promised on national MSM TV to jail H. Clinton, a plank I agree with. I am sure the so-called "Democrats" (those who have hijacked the party) can come up with ways to throw Trump in jail as well. Hallejuleh!

Then its time to start digging into any corrupt, illegal practices committed by the VP candidates... maybe they aren't jail-able but could be resign-able... a juicy sex scandal, a bit of bribery, WhoTF has bothered to dig so far?

No one expects the Democrats to win a majority in the House, but who knows? Maybe the voters will decide to send H. Clinton and her criminal husband to a high max prison, and then cross-vote Democrats into a majority in Congress to grid-lock the government.

Quite frankly I am not aware of a sane Republican, but the Democrats owe the African-American community BIG TIME! and I am pushing for "Barbara Lee for House Majority Leader" and thus, in the near future, the President of the USA.

Dream on, Alex Ocana.

That's been her slogan for years and I've been voting for her as my representative for years. It was just so extremely courageous of her to be the only member of Congress to vote against the authorization to use force in Afghanistan in 2002. Not because she didn't want to bring Bin Laden to justice but because it gave too much power to Bush to be able to start wars at his own discretion.

That was the reason I posted this bit of a pseudo essay... we need some positive outcome to dream about... some imaginable goal within the media "reality".

Barbara Lee would be the only politician that could knock Hillary out of the presidential primary race in 2020 that I can think of. She could pick up much of Bernies support and not be labeled racist or sexist.

Maybe we've all been too hasty in condemning Hillary Clinton. I mean, if someone who's been such a tireless advocate for the Little Folk as Congressperson Lee can be so laudatory towards Secretary Clinton, does it not behoove all self-identified progressives to follow her lead?

Statement from Rep. Barbara Lee on Endorsing Hillary Clinton as Our Next President

"As a member of the platform drafting committee, I worked with appointees from both the Sanders and the Clinton campaigns to help create a progressive party platform that we can all be proud of.

After much discussion and close collaboration between the campaigns, I am confident that Hillary Clinton will unite the party around the progressive issues outlined in the platform. That, along with the fact that she is by far the most qualified candidate – male or female – to ever seek our country's highest office, is why I am proud to endorse Hillary Clinton to be our next president.

Hillary Clinton has always been committed to public service, helping to lift millions of people out of poverty, particularly children and working families. After she finished law school she worked at the Children's Defense Fund, and as first lady she helped provide health coverage for more than 8 million children.

Like myself, Hillary Clinton is a pro-choice advocate who believes that every woman has a right to comprehensive health care, including safe and legal abortions, regardless of her background or her income. And she opposes the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a bad trade deal that would hurt American workers, families and businesses.

I am impressed by all of the energy and enthusiasm that has surrounded the Democratic presidential nominating process, and I commend Senator Sanders for bringing large numbers of young people and first-time voters into the party.

Now it is time for us to come together as a party to defeat Donald Trump and make sure he never sets foot in the White House."

I don't know about being too hasty, Hillary has developed her record. Barbara is a Democratic Party member and must work within those confines and within the narrow lines of how the election process worked out. She would probably voice a similar statement highlighting common agreements on issues no matter who the nominee was. You noticed she did not comment on Hillary as she stands on foreign policy, as we know they are not in agreement on those policies.

You do remember the personnel that quit working in the Clinton administration after they passed welfare reform because they knew that it would send thousands of women and children into deeper poverty?
How about her work for the women and children in the middle east? Nope, not seeing it.
Not seeing her stand up to her pals in SA who still stone women if they were raped or cut children's hands off if they get caught stealing.
The kids she wants sent back to Hondorus to send a message to their parents, and many of the kids have been murdered after they returned there.
Sorry Barbara, but it is a delusion that Hillary is a strong defender for women and children.
There are many examples I could provide, but I am singing to the choir.

On the other hand she voted with Bernie on almost every platform plank. and has a proven anti-war record. She is the only rep I can think of who would actually have seniority and a position to be appointed Majority Leader. Sure, I would prefer Nina (Sept. 23, 2016. Bernie Sanders Supporter Nina Turner Refuses To Endorse Hillary) but she isn't in the House.

If I remember right, the only one of the Sanders platform committee (of which Lee wasn't but voted with) who rejected the platform, was Dr West.

While we are talking about it... about the only feminist issue that Clinton is sort of firm on is "pro-choice" except that pro-choice is only pro-choice if the society works good enough for poor women to know they can take care of their kids.

I would also like to point out that Clinton only worked in the Children's Defense Fund for a few months, undoubtedly a resume filler. I want to puke every time she mentions it while polishing her fingernails.

From the Light House.

PolitiFact reviewed Clinton's statements on late-term abortions over the years and concluded, "Clinton does not believe that all abortion should be legal. Instead, she's said she supports restrictions on late-term abortions except in cases of rape, incest and when the mother's life and health are in danger." This would mean that despite being the nominee endorsed by the nation's leading pro-choice groups, she is more open to abortion regulation than Sanders.

I liked Barbara Lee a lot, before that. My partner and I had suggested her as a possible running mate for Bernie...back when that was still thinkable.

We know they're undercounting millennials and independents.

Vote for Jill Stein for President, and any other progressive independents downballot, and otherwise the most progressive Dems you can find. Then let the chips fall where they may.

TPTB are trying to make this a self-fulfilling prophecy. Jill wins if you ignore all that and vote for her.

Its just a semi-snarky scenario, way down the rabbit hole the USA is.

I was in town today (in Dominica) and there was CNN in most of the stores... everything was blah blah blah groping from 26 years groping ago and a groping punch bowl full of of smooth faced male and female self-righteous prunes all declaring what a saint H. Clinton and her nasty husband are and what a assaulting piece of groping garbage Trump is. I imagine they are clinturbating backstage. Not a word about the USA>Saudi>ISIS weapon pipeline etc.

My friend who listens to CNN gave me a "report" on what he'd heard on the TV news the past 24, and, even though he frequently talks about how many women he "fucked" (when they were drunk etc.) he seems to think that Trump is a much worser beastie than he is. Meanwhile, back down the road, another friend is just now on her third boyfriend in the past two years. At least the last one was an abusive piece of shit who should have his clinton chopped off.

Really, I don't give a damn what billionaire groupies do to each other, They should all be in jail anyway. Its a puke bag of corruption.

Serve me up a plate of voting for a ban on fracking, a complete overhaul of and demilitirazation of da pol-lice, and a plan to dismantle all of USAian military bases. Stein or Moorhead.

you start out,

Jill is at 2%. I don't expect her to get enough air time to even put her in the consciousness of Usaian voters. My preference, World Workers might get a few thousand votes.

It sounds like you are trying to tell people a vote for Jill is a "wasted vote" because she can't possibly get enough votes. But since, like I said, the MSM is all in for Hill, we don't really know what the Jill votes are. You say 2% like it's a fact, not a claim.

The problem is not what billionaire groupies do to each other, but what the billionaires do to people who don't have the power of billionaires.

I agree, Bill Clinton might be just as bad, and there are a lot of important issues no one is discussing and attention taken away from those.

But what entitled men do to women without their consent is a big deal.

I have to say that she has failed to seize the momentum that Bernie built up. Sure the corporate media are shutting her out, but she has really been running as a fringe candidate rather than pushing her way into the mainstream. Her Vice Presidential nominee, although he seems like a well-intended and thoughtful person, had no name recognition. I would have used a version of Paul Wellstone's strategy. She could have bought some air time in a state where Bernie did well and said, "now that Bernie is out I am the only candidate that favors your interests over corporate interests. My opponents have hundreds of millions of dollars to spend because they are the candidates of the wealthy. I am your candidate. I need to be able to get my message across so consider voting for me and sending my campaign a few dollars." She could use the funds raised to pay for additional adds.
