Jimmy Dore: Thinking "Greens Can't Win" is a Self Fulfilling Prophecy.

Jimmy Dore and his guests debate this age old conundrum. The first 3 minutes lays out Jimmy's argument for voting Green and why voting Lesser Evils is simply shooting yourself in the foot. But the subsequent debate with one of his "Lesser Evil" guests is quite good as well. Those of you still thinking you need to vote for Hillary to save us all from Trump, you might want to watch this video. Jimmy really whacks the Neoliberal Dems for what they have done under Bill Clinton and Obama. And why Hillary has already proven that she will be as bad, but more likely worse than Trump.

Write in Bernie in Vermont , NH, Washington and vote for Jill Stein everywhere else. It could put Stein over 5% and qualify for Federal funding.

Jill is on the ballot here, and write ins won't be counted without paperwork. Is there some unobvious play going on here?

Also, I was having trouble finding a description of the proposal that wasn't cropped Twitter screen captures. Got a link?

GOTV for Johnson/Weld in NM. They're nipping at Trump's heels (25% to Trump's 29%) and only 12 points behind Her Heinous (37% and dropping) - figures from 270towin.com aggregated polls, accuracy uncertain.

I ran one of their maps with the assumption that Johnson took NM, and it successfully stymied both of the Evils.

If the goal is just to throw it into the House, then this would work.

But the goal of this proposal is to get Bernie elected (I think - it's mostly just a Facebook rant). To do that, he would have to come in third in the EC, and giving Johnson NM's 5 EVs would require Bernie to win either OR (7) or both NH (4) and VT (3) to come in third. Which is harder.

While it is true that he doesn't have to file paperwork in the three states that are the subject of the write in campaign (OR, NH, VT) he does have to file paperwork to accept the result in OR. Unless you know he will do this (which I doubt) then this may not work.

Just to mention, the link takes me nowhere, although copy-paste worked, so thanks!

I'll hope this isn't being kept QT, as it's rather hard to promote, if so, and FSM knows that the corporate-serving snoops will find out anyway.

(Remember that Bernie never actually conceded to Clinton nor did he release his delegates to her.)

A link found there led me here to this interesting explanation, as to how the f-ed up US electoral system could potentially be made useful to the people for once:

How Bernie Sanders Could Become President With Only 130,000 Votes
6 days ago 14 Comments

After reading Dawn Papple’s excellent article in The Inquisitr a few days ago, about how theoretically it was possible for Bernie Sanders to still become President, I shared the article with some friends and found that they were confused at how this scenario could occur, so I decided to write my own article and hopefully answer everyone’s questions, as well as recruit a few hundred people to help me make this into a reality. ...

... Last Question, Crazy Guy; I’m a Jill Stein Supporter Now. What Role Does Jill Stein Play In All of This?

Great question!!

Jill actually does play a role here.

Although Jill herself has stated that the 2016 election is about “consolidating power” to win the 2020 election, Jill Stein supporters may end up helping Bernie Sanders in this scenario.

Jill Stein supporters should continue canvassing, donating and phone-banking on her behalf.

Not only will your activism help Jill in 2020, but a truly concentrated Jill Stein movement in a few battleground states could swing those states to Trump and keep Clinton from achieving the 270 electoral votes required to gain the Presidency.

Our Bernie write-in campaign in no way hinders Jill’s progress.

Wow!! You’ve actually convinced me. What do I do now?

Email me at..

BernieSandersWriteIn@gmail.com

We need phone-lists of Vermont residents.

We also need people who are willing to travel to Vermont for one month or who already live there.

Yes, this is a longshot, but Bernie Sanders’ candidacy was a longshot from the very beginning.

It is worth a try just to keep the government from falling into the hands of either of these two warmongers.

This is our only hope to stop both Clinton and Trump.

I am ready to make the sacrifice, but I can’t do it alone.

Who’s with me?

... Update: The latest results from 270 to Win indicate that Iowa has turned Red, Clinton is at 264 and Trump is at 268. Consequently, if Clinton takes Nevada, she will make it to 270. If the new projections are accurate, both Vermont and Wyoming will be needed to prevent both leading candidates from reaching the requisite 270 electoral votes.

Bernie has always been noted for 'impossible' wins, both of elections and in advances for some of the most vulnerable Americans - and if he'd been 'allowed' to keep the Dem nomination he won, not only Americans but the Earth would be looking at an upcoming landslide victory and a chance of surviving in a more civilized and sustainable world.

In my dreams, the election of progressives supporting the new President Bernie and the new Opposition leader, Jill Stein, would wipe out the corporate parties and systemic political corruption in one populistic go.

"a Self Fulfilling Prophecy" rather than "a The Self Fulfilling Prophecy"?

At any rate, I think Jimmy makes a great point in the opening few minutes that if all the people who agreed with Jill Stein's agenda more than they did with Clinton's would actually vote for Jill Stein, it would lead to a profound and fundamental reshaping of the political landscape - one that would have far more important and beneficial consequences than blocking Trump from selecting any Supreme Court justices, or any of the other lame arguments used to justify voting for more of the same.

I give Jimmy credit, he has him on a lot so it's just not an echo chamber. And Jimmy always shoots down his arguments for supporting clinton. Robert is correct about starting at the local level and make changes. That's just what the Koch bros have done on the right. But who's going to fund it? Soros? He's as neo-liberal as they come. No one on our side that I know of has a billion or so to spare. Jimmy's right. We have to change the direction of this country fast and the only way to start is to send a message to the establishment that we're done with this shit.

the very reason I am voting for Jill Stein. What is amazing is that for the first time in a long time, I feel very content and liberated by simply voting my conscience. If Trump wins, I will feel no guilt. If Trump wins, every one of the Democratic party insiders who forced her Heinous down our throats needs to look into a mirror because they have only themselves to blame.

If Democratic voters (with help from the DNC) managed to nominate a candidate who doesn't win the general, the only place to look for fault is those who voted for her. Seriously, if your chosen candidate can't beat Trump you have some introspection to do.

After all, they've put a stake in the Bushes' heart by leaving "poor low-energy Jeb!" hanging in the breeze, so now it's up to us to finish off the Bush-Clinton cabal by defeating her. Without an office to sell, who's going to pay them for non-existent favors? I imagine there will be hell to pay inside the dems when it turns out they couldn't beat the hand-picked patsy. Of course we'll have to rise up again when Chelsea gets the bug to run for the Senate, but we'll burn that bridge when we get to it.

(In-the-bag Next Governor) buys Napa mountain vineyard

The PlumpJack Group, whose ownership includes Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, announced on Thursday it purchased the Ladera Vineyards winemaking facility and 82-acre vineyard atop Howell Mountain in Napa County.

The group’s CADE Estate Winery in Angwin will use Ladera’s facility and its 74 acres of cabernet sauvignon and 3 acres of sauvignon blanc to increase production of its well-regarded wines, which retail from $32 to $98 a bottle.

The purchase price was not disclosed, but industry sources put it close to $50 million.

• The unique approach to California’s regulatory policy, is that they did require third tier mandatory distribution. It’s very similar to alcohol.

i. There is a third-party distributor that will transport every gram of bud, gram of concentrate, edible to the retailer.

ii. You can’t go consumer direct at this point.

iii. Agricultural co-ops; there is a 5% ownership restriction, meaning if I’m a cultivator I cannot own more than 5% of another license in the market place.

iv. 20 (21 technically) producers, acting together in concert as a cooperative, in fact meet that 5% threshold.

v. Cooperative distribution that is producer driven, focused, built on, and driven by the agricultural community. We know that ag co-ops are good for production.

Tactically speaking; policymakers, your cultivators are screwed, if you don’t permit distribution. [...]

Jimmy Dore is right, I just wish he was able to better explain why he is right than he did in the video.

Democrats have proven time and time again, especially this campaign season, that they will bend over backwards in support of the democratic presidential nominee in anything they do, even when it is as terrible as anything they think Trump will do as president.

Add that the same peoples immense fear of a president Trump has turned him into an enemy that they don't trust, actively hate, and thus will fight anything he does and its important that between two republican presidential nominees, Trump wins over Hillary.

Jimmy's guest liked pushing for us to follow what the tea party did, take 30 years to build up a "ground game". However, what he so obviously left out was that part of the success of the tea party wasn't just running and voting in local races, it was also "losing" a race, using that loss to motivate the base to vote for and run again.

Voting for Jill Stein isn't just voting with our moral convictions, it is the start of a movement, a battle cry.
That is why guests like the one Jimmy had wants to make sure we vote his way, they want to shut down our movement.

So don't let the bed wetters, and people with their heads in the sand decide your vote.
