FDA to be culled due to Sch1 marijuana?

For immediate release: Presidential candidate Clinton to fire FDA head "first day on the job".

Ms Clinton has suggested that the days of big pharma/big alcohol and private prison profiteers controlling the half-century long war on marijuana (and perhaps other medicinal plants like kratom) are finally over.

"We will not become the anti-science party, the dinky digited deplorables have that platformed already. I am committed to seeing that my administration begins its eight year reign with a clean sweep of the lobby-go-round at the FDA, who have been unable to find even one case of peer-reviewed science indicating that medicinal marijuana demonstrates efficacy.

The inspector Clouseau ineptitude characterizing the efforts aside, if we continue to deny study of medicinal plants we might as well exchange our logo with an ostrich."
"We will also be looking at the ATF, DEA, militarized state and local policing agencies as well as judicial sentencing guidelines, our experts at the Institute of Medicine* suspect there may have been some interagency ideological cross-pollination" (couldn't be bee's, Bayer/Monsanto...)

There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know.

Think about it. Since the marijuana industry can't legally have bank accounts for their "ill-gotten" gains, they can't easily make anonymous billion-dollar donations to her foundation. Seagrams and Anheuser-Busch can simply make a wire transfer, instead of having to back a dump truck full of sloppy $20s to her door. They've already lost the battle, simply because she doesn't want to be bothered to carry all that dirty cash (let alone have to count it!), when there's so much clean, untraceable, automated, booze-derived cash out there...

That for some reason Lynch couldn't prosecute any one for. I'm sure that after they paid the fine she gave them and since they probably didn't have to admit any wrongdoing, they are using a different account.
We have seen what happens when no one is ever prosecuted.
The CEOs of the banks weren't and since they are bigger than ever now, the next crash is going to be spectacular.
But this time they are going to take the money from the people who have it in their banks.

just a few weeks after ACL surgery on my right (kick-drum!) knee. Found that 2 Percodan and 4 shots of 100-proof Stoli was just about right for that set of circumstances.

Hmm. For this debate, I'd up the Percodan count a little, though. Maybe 4 each, for symmetry...

Just like my dear departed gray-haired mammy used to tell me: "Your liver's a muscle, son; if you don't use it you'll lose it." (;-)

eight year reign? Just, wow. I know she's arrogant, and we all know this is highly probable, but the hubris in that statement gives me chills.

As If. We'll not be the anti-science party? Really Hillary, when we're told we should believe all that you tell us, you have the audacity to make that kind of remark?

Pandering to the millenials is all she's doing. Hoping to God something will resonate with them and appearing ever more desperate. I think she'll win because I think she's got this thingy rigged two ways to Sunday, but it would be nice in many ways to see her lose, and lose big. I would love to see that smirk wiped right off of her face, but then again, there's no guarantee she doesn't want the Rump to win. The way she campaigns does make one wonder.

Due to the unwarranted scheduling of this drug as anything above CIII is ridiculous. No known reports of addiction (physical dependence) and relatively few reports of addiction (mental dependence). With so many different substituent compounds, much work needs to be done. Some of the cannabinoids will probably have no beneficial effect. Some may actually be harmful. But I suspect most cannabinoids will be found to be beneficial. I have seen people, formerly on Oxycontin and Percocet discontinue or drastically reduce the use of opioids due to successful use of MaryJane. But this ridiculous Federal restriction by scheduling it as CI (class 1) inhibits medical research. We don't need to look hard for the responsible parties: Alcohol manufacturers and Big Pharma. Since MJ makes the strongest rope in the world and excellent paper, further use of this plant might even take a bite out of the Koch brothers' income.

with addiction potential. Plus a nastier and more serious side-effect profile. I believe this should be classified either CII or CIII.

Ditto, a friend (Vietnam era vet) gets 30+/- vicoden/week and a fentanyl patch as needed (morphine) prescribed by the VA for his pain management.
Thank goodness for MMJ as he has nearly replaced the vicoden and stopped using the patch at all (which was never a pretty sight).

Israel Is Cornering The Medical Marijuana Market
https://forward.com/.../israel-is-cornering-the-medical-marijuana-...

Since 2014, U.S. firms have invested about $50 million in licensing Israeli medical marijuana patents, cannabis agro-tech startups and firms developing delivery devices such as inhalers, said Saul Kaye, CEO of iCAN, a private cannabis research hub.

“I expect it to grow to $100 million in the coming year,” Kaye said at iCAN’s CannaTech conference in Tel Aviv this month, one of the largest gatherings of medical marijuana experts.

Scientists say strict rules, some set by the Drug Enforcement Administration, limit cannabis studies in the United States, where the legal marijuana market is valued at $5.7 billion and expected to grow to $23 billion by 2020.

“In the United States it’s easier to study heroin than marijuana,” said U.S. psychiatrist Suzanne Sisley, who has researched the effects of cannabis as a treatment for American military veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

When you think “Israel, the Start-up Nation,” you don’t necessarily associate it with cannabis—but it’s time to think again.

CannaTech’s conference March 7-9 brought hundreds of visitors from all around the world to Israel, a country leading and accelerating cannabis innovation, in order to showcase recent advancements in medical cannabis.

The conference hosted a range of speakers from academic, scientific, medical, agronomic, entrepreneurial, investor, media and even political perspectives.

Many maintained that it is not random that Israel is leading in this innovation.

Even pretend-protective government agencies are a waste of money under off-shored corporate law forbidding regulation of involved corporations, who get to regulate the public in setting domestic law to maximize corporate/billionaire profits and get virtually all public money through being used for military and other costs involved in global conquest at the cost of their economically (Trojan Horse 'trade deal') conquered victims or via thousands of law-suits - by thousands of corporations and billionaires for hundreds of millions or billions of dollars - against legal attempts to protect the people/environment in any fashion, likely rapidly bankrupting the country and also then placing them in the possession of the international banksters, (think Greece,) for faster milking/slaughter of excess population by some of The Right People.

So, my thinking is that Hill's just saving money for her paymasters by doing away with such agencies immediately. Mentioning marahoochi is supposed to appeal to Millennials and make her win look good - bet it polled well - and they used it as an excuse they thought people might swallow for beginning to shut down the FDA and other such agencies intended to protect people against the abuses of predatory corporations such as those Hillary serves. And who will doubtless be able to patent and control all crop plants - natural or not - very shortly, once we're all under corporate law. Monsanto's already tried, ages ago, to patent naturally existing genes, such as those in pigs, never mind plants and I believe some human genes as well? (Haven't been up to trying to keep up on this for some time.)

Edit: started reading this thread while half-asleep last night and and finished reading it when getting up still-asleep, having forgotten the snark aspect, since eliminating protective agencies is a corporate candidate trait. But leaving this to stand, since eliminating protective agencies is, as stated, a corporate candidate trait.

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.
