Pardon me while I engage in a bit of shameless self promotion. As you may or may not be aware, I make videos for a living. 
But I'm not just a "video person". See my bio below, I have more skills you can shake a stick at! (Where did that saying some from?)
The Pitch
Why do you blog? Share your truth? What are you trying to accomplish?

One Problem
One of "issues" I've seen over the last several weeks working behind the scenes for C99p with the fund raising team, is that many "progressive" organizations, bloggers, business, what ever, many don't do a very good job of leveraging SEO or video to expand the reach of their message, yet business pay tens of thousands of dollars to stay on the front page of google.
Now, most bloggers, writers, artists, Ma and PA business, just don't have the technical knowledge, nor the budgets to compete with major business, ya know like those "think tanks" or the Department of Commerce that are spreading that crap (message) about Climate Change being a liberal Hoax?
These same companies and organization are pouring, hundreds of millions of dollars into "Dark Money Funds" to drown out the "message" Climate Change is Real, Man made and not happening 50 years from now, but playing out before our very lives in real time. (Koch Brothers, hello?)

It found that the amount of money flowing through third-party, pass-through foundations like DonorsTrust and Donors Capital, whose funding cannot be traced, has risen dramatically over the past five years.
In all, 140 foundations funneled $558 million to almost 100 climate denial organizations from 2003 to 2010.
Meanwhile the traceable cash flow from more traditional sources, such as Koch Industries and ExxonMobil, has disappeared.

Hopefully, I just proved, that getting on the 1st page of google doesn't have to cost tens of thousands of dollars. We can fight the Kock Brothers and those like them! All it "cost" me, was some time and a little effort. (of course the costs of my computer, software, years learning ....) but, hopefully, you get my point.
Nut shell = I'm just saying, if I can get on the front page of google, imagine what that can do for you and your message there as well!

If we want to fundraise, we need to grow our membership.
I regularly use the icons in the diaries to repost them to FB and Twitter. The more people that see and read our essays, the more people that will visit our site, and the more visitors we have, the more members we are likely to get. We have good writers, we just need to promote their work.
c99 could benefit from a "most shared" plan like the one dkos shares on its FP. We don't have to have that section on our page, but we do need to do it. As I said, I try to share essays as often as possible for all of the writers here, not just my own stuff. One of the problems I have when reposting is that no one formats their essays with sharing in mind. Quite frankly, they are often obtuse, plain, and unappealing as hell. If a book is judged by its cover, I can't imagine why anyone would click on some of what I repost. It is worth reading, but it doesn't have any cover appeal.
If writers would insert
and view everything above as a lede, it would help a lot. They need a good title, a little tease/intro about the article, and an image relevant to the story above the
I don't profess to know squat about social media, but I did get a team of amateurs together to promote our job training programs. I know a little more about FB than I do Twitter, but I know c99 is awful at it. Perhaps a class or two here would help. When and how do we use the videos you are making for us? We should be using them too, right?

Proof reading. Some of us use have great grammar, then there's me....
Who is good proof reading? Maybe there a way to integrate grammarly, I think you can do "plugin" into certain browsers, but I'm gun shy of "plugins" for browsers. (personally I'ld rather have a"live" person proof read so they understand context, style and such things...where a "program", not so much)

Grammarly is free and paid.
For internet, free is good enough. it works with Chrome. I have it, but it can only work so many miracles. My point isn't grammar. It is social media and formatting essays so they are repost ready.
