In which we learn more about the role Datto has played in the email saga
From The Hill:
Clinton email server company warned about security
One of the companies hired to manage Hillary Clinton’s private server was warned last summer that potentially sensitive information on her machine was not protected with encryption protocols designed to thwart potential hackers, according to new emails released by Congress.
Curious that no one pointed any of this out until 2015 - the letter, as you can imagine, was from Datto to Platte River Networks. Sure sounds like PRN was entirely out of their league in handling the Clinton information:
“Platte has not enabled encryption at the local device. Given the sensitive, high-profile nature of the data which is alleged in press reports to potentially reside on the Datto device, it may be the target of cyber attack from a multitude of highly sophisticated and capable entities or individuals,” it added. “We believe such an event could place the unencrypted data itself at risk, as well as expose both Datto and Platte River systems to collateral damage.”
Which was followed by:
“In its current state, however, the device, and the data that is stored thereon ... is more vulnerable to cyberattack than Datto believes is prudent under the circumstances.”
Which was followed by a letter from Datto's attorney which acknowledges that the information on the Datto device 'may be subject to evidentiary retention requirements'. The letter pleads to have what's stored be moved onto a different device with encryption.
Anyone know why these emails were in the possession of the House Science Committee? Datto told the FBI, apparently, that they did not know if the encrypted device was used.

Hillary picked two savvy outfits to handle her data
Apparently neither agency had any political skills but a few were smart enough to contact their lawyers at the time--though they still screwed up by erasing Federal Records anyway. So, now Jason Chaffetz and his crew are picking at their flesh. One bird is still one the loose, hopefully under FBI protection, named Bryan I-will-not-tell-a-lie Pagliano. I hope Congress scoops him up and throws his sorry ass in jail. He can take the 5th all he wants, but he can't ignore a Congressional subpoena, regardless of what he will say at a hearing.
They must have been selected b/c it was assumed they could
be controlled. Nothing else makes sense.

yeah, and of course everybody pleads the fifth!

(Edit: swapped video)
Thornton and Combetta took the Fifth repeatedly
Thornton would neither confirm nor deny whether he's been interviewed by the FBI.

Taking the 5th repeatedly
makes them look guilty of assisting in a cover-up. That is the problem with Fifth-taking. The FBI question, especially.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
Yeah, well IN ADDITION to taking the 5th...
these guys DELETED emails they were advised by a House committee to maintain. Somebody's telling their mama on them...

The lawyering up of Datto and PRN was subsidized
by Clinton Executive Services. Last year. 2015. When the warnings to Mills came down that the FBI was interested in discussions. Does that sound like a coordinated attempt to cover up? By Clinton Executive Services?

You got a link on the Clinton Exec Services paying for legal?
That would be interesting...

No. Chaffetz insinuated that the legal services were Clinton-
paid somehow I think from some FBI notes he read. We are being blocked out as mere citizens from the details.

It would be consistent for that to be true...
Will those of us here now live long enough to see the release of the docs now classified? (not sure I will)
