I Got Your Dirty Effing Hippy to Punch Right Here, Liberal Media
The so-called liberal media is still attacking and slandering Sanders supporters and other progressives who refuse to climb on the Hillary bandwagon, as dirty, fricking hippies. You know, lazy shiftless young people or pot smoking brain dead relics from the sixties who just want "free stuff" from the government. Well, I'm here today to show you what a dirty, effing hippy who isn't on board with the deep state's preferred, corporate approved candidate, Hillary Clinton, looks like in my latest video.
[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnqRZGfxUcQ]
Yes, I continue to oppose Hillary Clinton, a political opportunist who's never seen a Middle eastern country in which she didn't want America's military to intervene in order to create "regime change," regardless of the consequences. Who's never opposes a trade agreement favoring big corporations at the expense of workers (until Bernie Sanders popularity forced her - temporarily - to back off calling the TPP the "gold standard" of all trade deals). A candidate whose major political accomplishment was obtaining the New York Democratic party's endorsement of her as its nominee for Daniel Patrick Moynihan's seat while she and her husband still resided in the Oval Office. A woman who still won't tell us what she said at $250,000 speeches given to industry groups around the world, or explain why lobbyists for companies that needed State Department approval while she was Secretary of State made so many million dollar donations to the Clinton Foundation and it's affiliates.
Yet somehow, those of us who criticize her for her policies and corruption and history of playing fast and loose with the truth are the dirty ones, according to our "liberal" media. Even after she won the nomination by any and all means, fair and foul, (mostly foul) they still can't stop shaming us for not backing the woman who broke the glass ceiling. Just check out Katie Halper's article "Hillary's Mean Media is Alive and Well" at this link:
https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2016/08/hillarys-mean-media-is-al...
Little did we know, the media was actually pulling its punches. Once Hillary won the nomination and Vermont senator graciously and enthusiastically endorsed her, the gloves really came off. In a display of shameless schadenfreude, the media gleefully mocked Sanders supporters for being emotionally weak and cognitively damaged. If they wanted to hang around with the cool crowd, they had to remove their aluminum foil antenna from their heads, lick off their patchouli, and sit in the back, silent, hands-folded, and listening to the winners. Stinky, crazy, loud-mouthed losers, needed to get in line, sit down and shut up, immediately.
The media’s “Mean Girls” style contempt isn’t just for Bernie or Busters or Stein supporters. It’s for anyone who is, ever has been or ever might be one. Curiously, the criticism is much harsher than anything we see hurled at people supporting Trump… you know… the fascist whose potential presidency makes not supporting Clinton such an act of lunacy.
Well, here's one damn dirty hippy that will continue to refuse to fall into line and back "Her" historic candidacy. In the meantime, I recommend you read Ms. Halper's fine article of the hypocrisy and cruelty of the "liberal" and "progressive" media who seemed more focused on mocking and belittling young people, old people and any people who had the temerity to oppose Hillary Clinton, the most progressive candidate the US Chamber of Commerce and Big Republican Donors have ever enthusiastically supported for President.

I went to war a Democrat and came back a Hippy.
Mainly because the one who I voted for, who promised to end it... Lied like a exquisitely opulent faux fur rug.
Course, that was when I also started paying attention. Very hard to hide the inconsistency when your audience pays attention for more than one news cycle at a time.
I do not pretend I know what I do not know.
It never ceases to amaze me
how invested the right is in painting these corporate "News" hacks as "Liberal Media". Real, honest-to-goodness Liberals don't punch hippies...
Yes! I occasionally mention on Facebook that I no longer follow
the MSM because they are too conservative, and I get many responses of how shocked they are! Truly shocked! That I could possibly call the MSM conservative!!
Please check out Pet Vet Help, consider joining us to help pets, and follow me @ElenaCarlena on Twitter! Thank you.
Heh, I agree with the shocked folks
I think words like "conservative" and "liberal" miss the point entirely. I don't follow MSM largely because they don't tell me the truth so there's no point in following them. Rather, I find interesting stories from placing like here and newsmap and redstate and lord knows where. Then I research them.
But honestly, if I have to do all the legwork myself, then why would I waste time with the mainstream media who can't or won't do that same legwork?
In my mind, MSM isn't too "conservative". It's too pro-capital and anti-reality.
A lot of wanderers in the U.S. political desert recognize that all the duopoly has to offer is a choice of mirages. Come, let us trudge towards empty expanse of sand #1, littered with the bleached bones of Deaniacs and Hope and Changers.

Ha! You have a point. I consider pro-corporations to be
conservative, but to each their own definition. I certainly consider Faux to be 100% Fear Fantasyland. But the people who object on the Book of Face generally do so because they consider the MSM too liberal. It's fun to shake them up.

Or just plain lazy.
Whatever... let's just say there hasn't been a Woodstein since, well, Watergate. I haven't watched in years, eventually giving up on MSNBC, even, when K.O. was canned. Not that K.O. was the spitting image of Edward R., or anything, but at least you had the sense a telephone was lifted ocasionally.

As I wrote earlier the Democrats are now appealing to the Neocons for support.
Dear god, we are in deep shit
I see it just the other way 'round
Seems to me it's the Neocons who are batting their eyelashes at Hillary and begging her for shelter.
Look, there's now a Neocon on both sides of the ticket, these days, so they're just cashing in their election insurance. That policy was triggered when Jeb Bush and rest got their asses kicked and their Party stolen by an Outsider. The Neocons are publicizing the move because they want the right wing to follow them and vote the last Neocon standing into the Presidency. The Hillary Handlers are also publicizing the move… because they're so far down the rabbit hole they lost all perspective? They have nothing to gain from letting people know that President Lady Parts is also the Neocon queen.

What a team they make.
Bumbling, perhaps. But there's one key difference.
between Trump and Bush.
No one in congress, including the Republicans, will do anything Trump proposes. If they do, they're finished in DC and forever tainted. And if he tries to do anything himself, they'll impeach him, to popular acclaim.
The massive Trump-propaganda carpet-bombing going on in the US right now put a permanent twist in the brains of Americans. Trump's the biggest boogyman we've ever had. Bigger than Osama bn Laden, even.
The elected DC millionaires in Congress know that.
Trump was never a threat in the first place, for that matter. He's just a useful tool.

Nothing warms my heart more than
when someone recognizes me for who I truly am - a dirty fucking hippie chick that wants my fucking free stuff so I can continue to lounge around, smoke my happy stuff, eat my bonbons, and shit all over the establishment. Since I don't really have the luxury of having free stuff, lounging around, smoking my happy stuff (at work), or eating bonbons, I will continue to shit all over the establishment while I work for poverty wages, never being able to fully retire because I don't have any of that fucking free stuff, and vote third party. They are welcome to come on by and kiss my flat ass.

I personally am heating up the oil & tar
and looking around for feathers and a rail. But I wouldn't be unhappy with a bunch of tumbrels to roll around as long as it allows us to lob a few veggies through the stakes. And I am thinking about taking up knitting again!
Maybe we oughta design a new logo for our knitted caps? Maybe NEO with a sword slashing through it breaking it into.

My daughter and myself make our own hair rinse
sometimes. We make a lemon and chamomile tea. The first time we made it - it smelled like goat's ass, so says my kidlet, but it's really lovely now. We try to do arsty crafty stuff but I'm no Martha Stewart or Suzy Homemaker. But we all love art and creation at this house so we are always up for a try at something. (EDIT - there's always something going on by somebody in this house. The art might be just in outdoor tidying, someone who can care for a plant, to me, is an Artiste! Some here have seen some of my son's sculpting and paintings - he's the actual savant LOL> But art is also in how we cook our food, brush our kid's hair, write a note.. Art is everywhere I guess I'm trying to say and it may not always be beautiful or seen as art but I think art is the beauty that we put into our iives and how we live it. END)
My daughter is a selft-taught musician and knitter and painter and so on and so on. I can't even braid hair or sew but I am considered an artist around my house so I like to think that although I didn't pass on any special skills to my daughter, I at least passed on the passion to learn and try.
Heck even my geek spouse is capable of creating something lovely.
Lately most of my creation is food. Seasoned an old cast iron skillet from Sweden I found and took it camping (great way to re-season a skillet btw!!!) and made pancakes and onion rings.
This week my daughter taught herself to knit hats. She's made two baby ones and just finished her own hat. We watch some crappy tv or movie while doing all this stuff. We may not always talk back and forth but it's nice to be 47 and have my 21 yr old daughter spending time with me. Time fades but the time spent together doesn't. I'm soaking it all in.
And that is what makes me a "hippy". I value the little things because that's all we really have. That and goat ass smellin hair rinse. But it's lovely because Danni and I made it incorrectly... together.
"Love One Another" ~ George Harrison
Dammit Janet you are a hoot!
Raggedy Andy says stuff smells like goat's asses all the time. Honestly, I cannot eat goat cheese because it smells like goat's asses to me because of him!
I love art, but am not an artist. I did design my own home and it came out pretty rockin', though. RAndy is a metal artist and can he create some beautiful things. We are both going to try our hand at a mosiac. We have a sun implanted in our back porch outside wall and we've decided to make it more snappy! I think it will be loads of fun.
Thanks providing some laughter to me today - it's the best medicine, you know!

It seems quite a few people
know what goat's asses smell like.
Should this concern me?

Not sure. If you're interested, however, go to a goat farm someday and get back to us with your thoughts on the experience.

Seasoned Cast Iron is Lovely!
I have my husband's great-grandmother's cast iron Dutch oven she brought with her from Norway. He says his mother never used it but I'm betting her mother and grandmother did, because I took it out of a trunk in 2010, seasoned it once and I've used it once or twice a week ever since.
Works of art of the stew persuasion, yum!
Hey, you guys might find this YouTube channel interesting:
https://www.youtube.com/user/jastownsendandson It's about 18th century cooking methods and recipes. Mostly with regard to historical re-enactment type stuff, but may be useful in the times ahead as well. Hubby and I have talked about getting a cast-iron Dutch oven at some point and I think this channel is pretty cool and educational.
This shit is bananas.
I love my cast iron skillets
I have so far found 4 from my Mom's belongings, ones I had never seen in our home. I've seasoned a large and medium skillet. Haven't found a Dutch oven yet.
I was afraid to use them because I have a glass top range but so far it's been fine on it.
First time I used it was camping this summer. Perfect Pancakes at 6K feet

Janet --- beautifully and artfully stated!
Thanks --- can I come visit you and hang out in your kitchen --- it sounds like a wonderful place to be! I miss how my family, mama and daddy, cookin in the kitchen, hanging out around the kitchen table, mama and grandma canning/preserving the Summer garden --- those were the good ole days!
Yes you can :)
We keep telling ourselves we are going to learn how to make jam some summer. Never do. Something always comes up.
My mom grew up on a farm where they put up all their food. But that skill never got passed along. I washed dishes, peeled potatoes and "stayed out of the way". Then came the 70s with convenient food, both parents working and all that power and knowledge fell away.
We just have fun with it.
"Love One Another" ~ George Harrison
I wish I lived in your hood.
I really want to surround myself with a better class of people.
Wonderful comment, Janet.

Hell, years ago,
I had to move to rural Vermont in order to get away from the dirty fucking hippies!
Our village and town are so small that we don't have a village idiot or a town drunk. Nope, we all take turns.
lol, my husband-to-be lived in a commune
near Brattleboro. Don't recall if it had a name!
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
I grew up near a commune in the late 60's.
My dad had a very responsible job and told me to stay away from it, so of course, as a 16 yo, I had to go check it out. Best decision I ever made!

If that makes me a hippie so be it.
Hillary acts like a queen and Trump thinks he is a king.
We are so far from a functional democracy it is pathetic.
But we are #1 in money in politics. And military, healthcare and prisons spending too. Wonder why?

At least then we could criticize them. (Peasants are allowed to hate the royals, just not revolt...)

I became a Democrat
16 years ago. During that time, I've seen the Democrats advocate and prevaricate for drone wars, foreign regime change, and fiscal policy debates on Capitol Hill where I wasn't sure who they thought they were representing anymore.
Except for Bernie. He always knew who he was representing and you always knew who he was representing. And TPTB largely ignored him because he was a lone voice in a room full of people who weren't listening. Until he wasn't and then they tried to kill his message and demoralize his supporters
I #DemExited after #DNCLeaks and a Convention that left me so depressed, I helped my Sister build fairy gardens just to get my mind off TPTB that were laughing their heads off at me. I left because the party I thought cared about people like me, apparently didn't. It wasn't enough that they lied and stole my vote, now they want full submission.
Well, I got a message for TPTB and its this: Fuck you. Fuck you and the horse you rode in on. Fuck you for lying, for cheating, for stealing, and for thinking we wouldn't fight back. Fuck you.
Sigh.
Sorry for the mini rant but once you're awake it's difficult going back to sleep.

You Think the Media Is Bad
Just wait till you see what's happening at TOP. I got flagged there twice today, once for saying I wasn't planning to vote for either major party candidate, and once for saying I was looking forward to watching the ideological gymnastics they'll go through once Hillary
unjustifiably invadeshumanely intervenes in another Middle Eastern country."You argue that you don't want to throw away your vote. That's right. Don't vote for freedom - you might not get it. Vote for slavery - you have a cinch on that." Eugene Debs
Yep. I tell them I haven't decided who I'm voting for, and they
tell me they don't believe me. I tell them I'm still looking for reasons to vote for Hill and they tell me to STFU and go away. I'm not getting flagged enough for the flags to be visible, at least. They're not very effective advocates for Her Heinous, IMHO.
I'm NR over there, so watch your flags. Take a break for a day, maybe, so you can go back later and say "I told you so"!

I GBCW'd Last Night
The thread on subir's latest diary did it for me. The comments were just over the top vitriol, and I started replying with anger of my own. I concluded that it was just emotionally toxic for me there and that I'd be better off moving on.
"You argue that you don't want to throw away your vote. That's right. Don't vote for freedom - you might not get it. Vote for slavery - you have a cinch on that." Eugene Debs
I think I just got my first flag
Today I posted a comment on a diary about how a gay man was exasperated by gay people who are cynical about Hillary. I am cynical about Hillary, though I figure she'll be superior to Trump. That's not a high bar. Basically, that's what my comment said. It was not flagged.
Several replies were posted to my comment. One was overtly hostile, basically engaging in hippie-punching. I responded: "Well, aren't you sweet?"
That was flagged! I had to "acknowledge" receipt of a warning before I could post again. People over there are going nutso. Ah well, once it would have bothered me more.
Hey there, Steven. That's a good point, that they are more
contemptuous of us than of the actual Trump supporters.
Well, the more She slides to the right to pick up Repug support, the freer I feel to vote for Jill. Hill has decided she doesn't need us, She will win sufficient Repug support. So why should I worry? Go chase after those right wingers, Hill. Maybe the final results will be Jill 50%, Hill 40%, Trump 10%.

About the catchy river in Egypt meme
Is 'meme' the word I want? I am not sure.
Anyways, I do wish our betters would look at a map once in a while. The Nile, that great river of which Herodotus said Egypt was the gift, is NOT "a river in Egypt". It is a river, arguably the longest river in the world, in AFRICA which traverses Egypt along with about 10 other African countries.

Can you feel the shame tonight?
I agree with you that the media and Clinton campaign are trying to clobber us over the head with shaming psycho warfare attempts to get us to vote against our better judgement.
I am a female over 50 who will never vote for Hillary because of her ethical deficiencies. What the media and Clinton campaign don't get is this---if I'd WANTED to support her, I already would have. And not a thing they say will get me to change my mind now. I feel that as a citizen who believes in justice, I must not do anything to further aid and abet criminal activity in the white house.
Let them label me-a hippy, a millennial malcontent, a Bernie Bro-I'm still voting my conscience!
I voted for the former NM governor in 2012 but am really undecided still this time because I like Jill's platform and approach a whole lot. Just so so sorry that Bernie got squeezed out by the multiple shenanigans of the Clintons and the DNC.
If they wanted the activist Left to vote for Democrats
they shouldn't have spent all that time propping up the one candidate that could lose to Donald Trump. It's not like we didn't warn them, so they have absolutely no right to complain. The Democrats hate us because they feel entitled to our vote and they're mad that we're not just falling in line and giving it to them. That attitude isn't going to win them any friends.
Personally, I've just tuned out most of the campaign at this point. No matter who wins, it's going to be a disaster. I don't care what the media or the Democrats have to say. I'll probably watch the debates, but for the most part, I've made up my mind and nothing that they do will change it.
The debates
Should be the most watched of all time. Hear they are planning for a third podium, think they should have four.
Come on!
Don't leave us hanging here, where'd ya hear that?

I'd say 'liberal media' is a perfectly accurate term.

Look again at the videos from the Nevada party convention
Never mind the imaginary chair throwing. Take a good look at the conduct and attitude (NOT personal appearance) conduct and attitude of the chair, whatever her name is. That is what we have to look forward to in a Clinton Restoration, is the emboldenment and elevation of every incompetent, swelled headed, pushy, bossy cow salarycrat, male or female, from the assistant principal who can't be bothered to educate your child, to the health dept. official who shuts down your favorite organic farm, an so on and so on.
I will venture on a prediction, that Zika will be used as an excuse to outlaw the collecting of rainwater in all 50 states. Where the mosquitoes are breeding in my town is in flooded basements in bank owned unmaintained houses where the basements have flooded, not in people's yards.
