Slip slidin' Away
Yesterday I was out celebrating the third day of my vacation,
Catching the "New Moon Low Tide," conveniently happening around dawn, all this week ...
(convenient from the perspective of great light for photography, and the unusual lack of crowds)
WHEN, I got this "ear-worm" stuck in my head, during my Low Tide Oregon hike;
(Must have been all the non-stop News "stories" I'd been hearing on the topic.)
And the "ear-worm" went like this:
Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump ... Trump, Trump, Trump;
Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump ... Trump, Trump, Trump;
Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump ... Trump, Trump, Trump;
Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump ... Trump, Trump, Trump;
Trump! ... Trump! ... Trump!
That was the refrain, which would repeat again,
keeping seemingly perfect time with the ebbing-tide surf.
To dispel the non-stop Media creation that restlessly filled my idle mind, with the drumbeat of 'flying monkeys'
I had to concoct another ear-worm, that could ever so doggedly take its Zen-focal place:
Paul Simon - Slip Slidin' Away + lyrics
Slip slidin' away
Slip slidin' away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you're slip slidin' away
Because afterall,
there IS ... much more to Life
than just Politics ...
Gasp! ... Shudder ... Guffaw!
To that end, I started building a Youtube Web-page a while back, which captures some of my "idle-time" hikes.
Because afterall something's got to fill that 'endless void' of Media {cough} "reporting" ...

Here's some sample content (which is decidedly Un-Trump-like):
If people let me know, that they like such 'interludes' ... I may just keep uploading my journeys, to be virtually shared by all those with the inclination (and the bookmark).
Because afterall, there's got to be something more to Life, than trampling politics ... and endless ear-worms ...
... seemingly-stuck on permanent loops.

Thanks Jamess, for glimpse of the world through your eyes.
Haunting beauty, both eternal and volatile.
Oh, and thanks for the earworm.
In my ear, it's accompanied by this tune:
IMAGINE if you woke up the day after a US Presidential Election and headlines around the the world blared, "The Majority of Americans Refused to Vote in US Presidential Election! What Does this Mean?"
I like
you fun-house version better, Pluto.
It's not so ominous in its focus.
Thanks jamess. But it's my default earworm.
You can take the dog out of Disney, but…
Been enjoying your posts, here.

Now you can cuss me for that ear worm, but maybe it'll get the other out of your head. All the best in your travels!

going "tramping" are way more prepared than I usually am.
Then again, I almost always got my rain-gear handy.
Thanks for the rousing-about chorus, Lookout.
That's one to remember.
Please keep posting
the photos from your journeys. These are wonderful!
Thank you Floande
for that feedback.
I'll keep at it.
Of course, I have so many to pick from. It could take a while.

I love that Oregon coast line
Crisp and pristine and reflection inducing.
Beware the bullshit factories.
I've been
I've been doing a lot of "reflecting"
over the last several days.
Not looking forward to rejoining the 'slipstream'
next week.
Nice pictures
I'm glad you are having fun at the beach.
I'd give anything to return to Bodega bay and go up the coast.
I used to be able to go to the ocean every weekend when I lived in California.
Sigh!
I went up the coast to Washington on my way to Montana and stopped at that beach by the bridge.
I didn't notice that trail you took that picture from.
Hopefully one day I will be able to travel and get back to the ocean and photography

I hope you can find the time and the means,
to reset that internal clock -- and just slow it all down again.
That beach with the bridge is in Heceta Head Lighthouse state park, near Florence.
That ridge trail starts after the Lighthouse Residence, but before the Lighthouse. (on Google Earth.)
But I found it by climbing the hillside at Low Tide.
It was a special morning -- had the place all to myself.
Good for my soul ...
Hope you don't mind if I save these pics to my computer desktop slideshow. They have a powerful "bring you back" thing.

I came to the conclusion recently,
one of the key joy of photography,
should come from the sharing of photography.
Glad they speak to you in such a powerful way.
I know the feeling.
Wonderful glimpses of Oregon Coast
Thank you for sharing that beautiful scenery. Going to Rockaway Beach for a few days in September and already looking forward to dawn and dusk as special hours for appreciating the light on the water.

Thanks Exdiplopat
If you get a chance
check out Oceanside (south of Rockaway)
and Canon Beach and Ecola Park (north of Rockaway).
Dawn and dusk are usually the best times on the beach.

You forgot to include the phrase, "Oregon is heinous, so stay away"
All it does is rain rain rain rain rain rain rain rain rain
Heinous, I tell ya! Absolutely heinous.
Thank you for capturing our heinous coastline.
