Making flagging anonymous meant that there was no way to put together patterns and that made it possible for a bunch of newbies to flood the system. Occam's razor points to those newbies being paid by Kos or someone contracted by him. There was no connection between what the website was and what it became. A change like that costs money and takes planning. It doesn't just happen due to a change in the ratings system or a change in site policy.

Another tidbit - Quantcast view numbers are currently going through the roof. That just doesn't happen under normal conditions - this is a very detailed plan - not some semi random results of a change of heart by a blog owner. There is a great story for an investigative journo to be had here.

I think that you have described the cover story, the one for public consumption. - the real story is potentially much more interesting.

There's a bully group over there who will flag anything that displays any doubt about anything to do with vaccines. They label it all CT. At least one of them appears to have "earned" a moderator position. They told me that there were a whole bunch of comments below the original that explained all the studies that have proven the current timing is the best timing. But since they hid the original poster and I can't read hidden threads, I have no idea what they say. This is the problem with hiding people you disagree with, if you have a good point nobody sees it!

But like I said, I think it's just a misstatement of fact at the most, if it's not true, and I don't take that group's word for anything. If I had a small child, I'd investigate it independently. Since I don't, I don't care enough to look it up. I was uprating someone trying to make what sounded to me like a reasonable point.

Now, of course, the anti-anti-vaccine bullies intersect with the Hillbot bullies because Jill Stein said, in effect, that she thinks she understands why the anti-vax parents have concerns. So it gives them a club to hit Jill with. And since she has the audacity to run against Her Heinous, any club is a good club. The kitchen sinks will now fly again. And if it turns everyone off to Hillary, that's our fault, not theirs.

I saw one bunch of stats that tracks where Kos readers came from and went to, so since then I've been coming here first, then going there, then coming back here, just so they'll know that this is my priority, and shortly after I get there, they chase me away again.

Some of the bullies would be delighted, but if Kos ever wants traffic it should make him nuts.

My only regret is my suitcase full of jokes about what that place has become that will remain forever in the "lost luggage" bin.
