GOS blows its TOP. Calls Jill Stein "DICTATOR IN WAITING!" on the recommeded list.
This poor hysterical kossacks only evidence for her "DICTATORSHIP IN WATING," was she said that people needed to put pressure on the system to pass her agenda.
Stein was asked another question before exiting: if given so much power, how do you prevent the president from becoming a dictator? What actions of the presidency could go too far? Rather than answer, Stein offered a response that Bernie supporters and those who wanted “real Democracy” would need to put political pressure on the USSC in order to advance their goals. Stein offered this assessment: “Political pressure on the USSC led to gay marriage, abortion rights and more… we must also pressure the courts.” In other words: what we can’t get through executive order, we’ll get through public pressure on the courts.
And with that, Stein exited, answering no questions about how this future would function. As of this morning, July 20, it is unlikely that Jill Stein will make the ballot in any form in Kansas. With the Republican convention happening now, Stein’s early July meeting stands out as the difference in vision of our political parties and vision of the future.
Today, we have two American parties now proposing virtual dictatorships. Whether it is right-leaning in Trump or left-leaning as Stein, there is really only one campaign in America right now that understands what a president actually can and can’t do in the way of change. There is also only one campaign that seems to understand that minority voters are worthy of outreach and discussion
I think this is really pedantic, and it is shameful no kossack pointed this out. They really look like blithering idiots. I wonder what their private polling is showing that got them to twit out like this. At least they aren't ignoring her anymore.

Hell no!
I'm saving it for either when Clinton gets her clock cleaned in the GE or whenever (if) she gets indicted for all the bullshit crimes her and Big Dog have grifted.
Meantime, this is good news to my eyes--it means Jill Stein is starting to poll better and better. That's some shit, isn't it?
I guess we're doing better for Jill than I thought we were.
She merited a hit piece! Somebody's internals are showing some good stuff they haven't shared with us yet.
Good. [Grumpy Cat]
Life is strong. I'm weak, but Life is strong.
my thought exactly!
as I laughed my ass off...
She hasn't done so bad for us either.
I think she has been with us every step of the way. To the best of her limited resources, I think she has attempted to emulate what the more powerful (and more plentiful) leftist parties did for FDR. A few months ago, I thought it was noble in a hopeless sort of way. Yet here we are, heading into the convention with a little extra leverage because of her. I actually find that rather impressive. Of course, it's still very unlikely that we prevail at the convention, but impressive nonetheless.
The DK piece is ridiculous. Right now, at this point in our history, those types of people do not exist in left wing parties in the United States. There is not a single person planning how to maneuver their way into a leadership role within the Working Families Party so that they can force the world to bend to their will. Even the mighty Green Party ain't quite there yet. Dr. Stein is one of us.

I have to bite my fingers not to say that if they're all so scared about a loss to Trump, then they need to push the party to nominate Bernie next week.
Anyway, I agree - if TOP smears Jill repeatedly, then she has gained Bernie's stature. They may come to regret their previous Bernie stances - no progressive will believe their further smears now.

That diary is embarassing.
Chris Reeves is pumping out the kool-aid and the orange lemmings are drinking it up.
edit: Thought about logging in to that shit-hole and making a comment but decided not to give them anymore site hits. They aren't worth it, they aren't even fighting the same fight. It's like the NFL....no matter which team you root for, the NFL wins. They are playing the game while being played.

If you click his profile, he is one of the twits Hill put on

Yeah, I remember him a couple months ago
with his anti-Sanders diaries. I'm not clicking his profile and will take your word for it. I imagine he is trying to primp to his base donor class because he isn't getting it from the average person. This season, along with Obama's failure to make change, have really awakened my eyes to how corrupt the entire thing is.

I feel so dirty...
I went over there today just to see what the lunatics were up to. I figured they'd be in a rage over "Lock her up!" but they seem only mildly concerned about that. I glanced at the rec list, read the article about Jill Stein the dictator and was just about to exit out of la la land when this diary title caught my eye "One sentence shows why Hillary Clinton will win this election."
I couldn't resist, and had to click before I left to see what possible words of wisdom Hillary might have uttered that would make someone think that one sentence would determine the winner of this election. Sit down before you read this! Are you ready? Okay, here we go...
No, I am not making this up! I was so shocked, dumbfounded, confused and intrigued, I had to read on down into the comments. 231 comments and counting on how this will change everything. Hillary will be able to reach out to Millennials and all those people playing Pokemon Go to register new voters and register them to vote for Hillary. I do believe they have officially jumped the proverbial shark!! They have truly lost their minds over there!
I was almost tempted to log in and rec the diary to keep it on the recommended list so everyone can see what a bunch of fools they are. Come to think of it, that's a pretty good idea! I think I'll go back over and rec the diary!!

Does anyone else suspect that the NSA were developers?
Talk about leading a bull around by a ring in its nose. Lemmings off a cliff (only 2 casualties so far?). Many cars getting totalled...
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
That and how suddenly it appeared out of nowhere
(seemed like it to me, anyway).
I was reading something about that thing earlier in the week, btw, and meant to post it here (or maybe I saw it posted here by someone else? I lose track...) Apparently, when you download and set up that game, it's EULA (end user license agreement) strips your right to sue them if anything bad happens to you while playing it; you have to settle for arbitration.
Whether that's the NSA or some asshole startup app designer with a shrewd legal team, that doesn't matter. The minute you see that, you go find another game. That's crazy!
That's a totally standard clause
probably written originally by Microsoft corporate shysters and copycatted by everybody else who wanted to make sure they could get away with anything they damn well pleased.
If you read the fine print, you'll find very few EULAs that don't include something like that - "If anything goes wrong, sucks to be you, sucker!"
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
Heh
that might be why the only game app on my phone is Solitaire. I actually read those things, lol! If Solitaire has one, though, I'm not worried about it. If I'm walking around playing it, and doing things like "walking into heavy traffic", I've got a bigger problem than "arbitration agreements"...
This is my favorite so far.
This reminds me...
of the Simpsons' episode with the news clipping of Grandpa Simpson yelling at a cloud. The person who created this is such a judgmental prick. "There is a bar up the street and around the corner. Go there, have a beer, and seriously think about your life choices." Really? Sounds like the same Clinton supporters who are bashing millennial. I guess this is the new version of "you kids stay off my lawn!"
I didn't read it like that
But I can see you have a point.
Still, I think the game is intentionally a giant distraction and the fact that people are walking into heavy traffic as they play is pretty telling.
Now, get off my lawn!
Distractions are...
necessary to be able to live a healthy life. Sports, pop culture, etc are all distractions. Why all the hate for Pokémon Go? (not necessarily from you) If you live constantly thinking about how fucked up this world is, you are going to go crazy. I have had to stop concentrating on world affairs a lot lately. It just pulls me down. I have been playing softball and playing Pokémon Go. It has made things a little better for me.
Agree about a small amount of distractions. See the caucus
critter diaries, for example. But we also have to face life so we can make it better. You're right, distraction has been around forever - bread and circuses. Pokémon Go is just the latest version. But it is designed for people to move around while playing, and so they are trespassing, walking into traffic, crashing cars, etc. I posted a couple videos about it last night in Video News, if you're interested. It's bad enough when someone walks into a light pole while texting, but you can text sitting down. Pokémon Go is designed for you to walk while playing. It seems to take the absurd to a whole new level. Or it could just be that I too am at the "get off my lawn" age!

The people...
who are doing the dumb things have no commonsense as it is. Pokémon Go is just an excuse. If it weren't this, it would be something else. And most people don't walk and "play," they tend to find spots where someone has used a Lure Module and let the Pokémon come to them. The walking is generally in small areas where they are trying to pinpoint something that is nearby. They don't walk long distances staring at their phones.
Then why are they walking into businesses and onto
private property where they are not wanted, and driving while playing?
Please check out Pet Vet Help, consider joining us to help pets, and follow me @ElenaCarlena on Twitter! Thank you.
There are 10,000,000...
people playing this. The number of people doing truly stupid things is pretty small compared to the number of people playing.
I realize that, I'm just trying to understand the basic premises
of the game without playing it myself. If they're supposed to be following a Lure Module, why aren't they?

I saw a demonstration of it this morning
I'm home sick getting back my strength after heat exhaustion from working in basically a convection oven.
On Live with Kelly, Kelly and the actor who plays the prez in Scandal were given a crash course and a camera man followed. It's not something I care to play, but my son likes it.
Funny, Westborough (sp?) Hateful Church is a hotspot for the Pokemon creatures. When I heard that I thought how hilarious! They've got zombies with phones in hand, roaming the grounds, and I'm sure the hate mongers inside are freaking out. I love it!
Speaking of zombies with cell phones
Where do you work? I work outdoors part-time, and it has
been rough!
Westboro, I believe.

I work in a warehouse outside of Houston
Not climate controlled, and I test computers and wipe the hard drives. The 6 of us who do this will have 10-13 systems each, running (generating amazing amounts of heat) all day. Sometimes they aren't finished before quitting time, so they're left running over night. It was only 94 there today, but in a concrete oven, add at least 10 degrees to that, and never stop moving or sit down.
The pay isn't great, but the benefits are. It's just unbearably hot. I'm pushing 50, and had a weird virus 5 years ago which has made it very hard for me to tolerate heat.
My manager is a racist too; so I've been applying other places. The last three people to be fired are black. I'm not black, but I'm not his race either, and I speak to, even eat lunch with the last two black people in the whole facility, so he won't even make eye contact with me.
If I had to work in the sun, I'd literally die! Stay hydrated!
I thought computers need a cool environment? Could you
all together convince him to turn on the AC for the sake of the computers?
I work mornings and stay in the shade as much as possible. And yes, PowerAde is my best buddy (sorry, pets)!

There is no AC in Houston
Other facilities around the country have AC, but not here.
TPTB sit on their asses in way cold offices. They only care about numbers. By 11am, my thinking begins to get foggy and my numbers start to tank when humidity is over 40% - often it's well over 60%.
Been racking my brain as to how to get AC installed!
Talk to a lawyer
Cruel and unusual punishment? I honestly think you have it worse than I do working outside. At least I have breezes.

You wipe hard drives?
Like, with a cloth?
(Sorry, I couldn't resist, much as the non-indictment STILL makes my blood boil).
Take good care of yourself in this heat. And I'm sending positive vibes that you and your coworkers can escape your racist boss.
I use a cloth on rack servers ;)
And on the outsides of systems, monitors, printers, hand-helds (Blackberries). The woman makes me want to puke!
Thank you!

I thought about creating a new account over there and doing
a version of the Colbert technique just to see how much outrageously stupid crap I could get them to like and rec just by making it praise Clinton but ultimately I just couldn't do it.
Too much negativity there that I would rather not expose myself to, and honestly, poking lunatics with a stick has never seemed smart to me.
But then again, it does sound like it could be fun and I never claimed to be particularly smart.
"I used to vote Republican & Democrat, I also used to shit my pants. Eventually I got smart enough to stop doing both things." -Me
Shah tried that
with some of his comments at dkos. These snarky mocking comments were taken seriously and garnered a huge amount of rec's from the usual suspects. They really do believe anything that reinforces their cult programming. I noticed that in the threads the big hitters like Denise managed to whip up the obligatory 2 minutes of hate for the evil far lefties Cornell West, Nadar, Bernie and any one who refuses to kiss the Demorat's collective ass. Step out of line and your a white privileged racist, sexist Dr. Commie Rat even if your female, black or a person of color.
These lunatics don't know a stick when it does poke them. Actually their addicted to the sticks. It makes me laugh when they start foaming at the mouth about how the ' far left' is just like the tea bagger's. First time I've been there in months and it was really embarrassing to think I was there for 10 years. Scary that. I see no reason to play with them and lend their insanity any validity. It's pathetic and sick. Why are people with a unwashed brain in there head still there?
That would be a blast.
I bet you would be loved as long as you have a mean authoritarian streak that comes out here and there.

Trolling is seriously hard work
if you want to be good at it. It's easy to shake the tree hard enough for a few nuts to fall out but it's really hard to keep it going. I've never worried about getting caught because the pointing and laughing is all part of the game. It's the very good trolls I really envy. That's the few who can really stir up a hornets' nest and get away without getting caught by the hornets.
"Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now..."
People who walk into traffic while playing a game would
be pretty compliant voters. That is if there's a Pokemon ready to lure them to the polls.

I stayed completely away for about 2 months...
but in the last couple days I've been unable to resist the temptation of seeing how they were dealing with some of more recent events. I almost choked when I read that diary I mentioned above. A year ago a diary like that would have been overrun with insults and the diarist so humiliated they'd never think of posting there again, assuming they were banned for being stupid. Today, loony tunes thoughts like that are on the rec list with the support of nearly 300 who recommended and hundreds of others who yell "Fuck yeah!!" in support. And we thought the tea parties were the crazy ones? As a good friend describe a particularly obnoxious right winger... "They're crazier than a shit house rat!"
“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”

I'm sure they could do that
But are Pokemon GO player of voting age? I thought it was a children's game.
The people, united, will never be defeated.
I think a lot of millennials play, too.
That pic been getting around
And still funny
When I was a kid, Republicans used to red scare people, now it's the Democrats. I am getting too damn old for this crap!
I hadn't seen this before
and I laughed so hard I've got tears running down my face.
I don't know anyone who plays but I think there's a charming aspect to it. I mean, at least they're outdoors, right? I read an article somewhere about cities (their gov'ts and urban boosters) being really pleased to have all these people visiting public spaces.
Of course, trespassing and walking into traffic is stupid...but a lot of people aren't really used to operating on their feet, LOL. They're more used to cars, couches and desks. Maybe they'll adjust and get the hang of RL.
oops, double post
sorry!
Not to worry!!!
Others explained all of that in the comments. You see, if the kids are out there playing Pokemon, then their parents are with them and you'll be able to register their parents to vote. They have it all figured out!! Pokemon Go vote Hillary!! And then walk off the cliff!! Fools!!

38 AND PLAY
I am 38 and also play... Our local Pokemon hunting group has people in range from their teens to their 60s. IT is a nice refreshing way for people to congregate and talk. Also, if the Hillary campaign did it at our park, we would just surround the table and make sure no one was able to talk to them. Almost all of us are "NeverHillary" Jill voters, with a few Trumps and Libertarians mixed in.

Oh, I'd wager money it's HRC's campaign.
Now that they won against Bernie in part by smearing him mercilessly, they will try to eliminate the next threat to her coronation by smearing Jill mercilessly.
Of course every time they pick a new target, it works less well, because they lose all the people who liked Bern plus those who like Jill. TOP struggles to stay relevant when most of us realize their politics are silly nonsense these days.
So that's why I think a smear on TOP is actually good news! It means they feel a threat. They're taking Jill seriously! Good, then we actually have a chance to win. But we do have to make sure that they don't get away with hacking the voting machines.
Please check out Pet Vet Help, consider joining us to help pets, and follow me @ElenaCarlena on Twitter! Thank you.
That's not going to work
Millennials and people that play electronic games are not that stupid. Just shows me how clueless the Clinton Democratic machine is. Man they are barking up the wrong tree. They need to hustle the fear and hate demographic. Gamer players are pretty savvy and all the millennials I know are hip to their jive. They know a fix when they see it. They need to fish for potential Dem. voters in another hole.
My millennial granddaughter is an indie who from the beginning of this insane election cycle has been a Jill Stein supporter. Bernie was too into the endless bloody war for her. She plays electronic games but would laugh if the Clinton Dems. tried to get to sign up. At 18 she told us all why bother voting it's rigged. She did register eventually as an Indie.
The Pokemon go players here seem to play in the parks. A few years ago Mt. Tabor park up the street from us was full of people dressed up in medieval grab and fake swords running around in the trees playing some game. It was entertaining to come upon them. For me as a city walker and bike rider what drives me nuts is people in their honking huge earth destroyer's who at stop signs are texting and yaking on the phone. Crossing the street in front of them is a perilous undertaking.
It's like their site's been hijacked by Monty Python or

Did someone say "desperation?"
Hooah!
Love that Ft. Hood cavalry Stetson! I can hear 'Garry Owen' as Bernie's background melody.

Desperation - exactly. Realizing how many Bernie Sanders supporters are now supporting Jill Stein. Very sad.
Now as for the Pokemon sentence. That's so dumb, I believe it.

This happened five days ago. It's probably changed since then, but it was a nice symbolic victory.

The current drivel at GOS makes it very hard to remember,
but it was a very good site for a long time. I got there right after the 2004 election, feeling very bad about America in general. Over the last 12 years, that place was devolved from my "go to" click in the morning to a place I haven't visited since LD's Bernie News Roundup flew the coop. It was one of the few reasons that I remained.
Like many here, I refuse to give kos the clicks. I almost clicked on to read the hit piece on Jill, but did not.

I joined 2004. It was a life saver. When the whole country was praying to Reagan every am, it was a niche of sanity. Then Kos had lunch with Bill Clinton, and it became a PR site for the Democratic Party.

I was politically adrift in 2004. Bush was somehow reelected and all seemed lost. A friend put me on to dKos in Jan 2005. I joined on my second day. What a mess it has become since then. GOS and the Democratic party have traveled parallel paths over the last 4 or 5 years. Meh. Even without the March Edict, it was time for this hillbilly to "exit, stage left"*.
When I joined up (my user ID# was 39,000 or so) I thought that dKos may stay committed, a' la Morris Dees and The Southern Poverty Law Center. There are still a few. Alas, not the Great Orange Satan. Calling it a liberal or progressive site today is not unlike those who claim that it was the Republicans who elected Lincoln and fought slavery. Well, it was the Republicans. And any resemblance of the Republican party of 2016 to the Republican party of 1866 is purely coincidental.
*10 points for identifying that cartoon character
"Just call me Hillbilly Dem(exit)."

Yogi Bear?
(I could use Google but that would be cheating!)
We can’t save the world by playing by the rules, because the rules have to be changed.
