An extremely short note but I was in the hospital since Friday morning with severe pneumonia. It came rather too close to getting me permanently so from now on I'll be sure to be careful and take better care of myself. I'll write more later.
Also consider getting a pneumonia vaccine shot. My mother died from pneumonia. I've had it twice, and one of them was nearly fatal. I started getting flu shots every year and pneumonia vaccine every 7 years and haven't been sick since.
I get all the shots but apparently this has been hanging on perhaps for as much as a year and finally decided to get nasty. The Doctor says they got all of this round and here is hoping there is never another round.

In addition to the pneumonia vaccine most of us have been getting every 5 years - there's a newer one, think it may be for people over age 60, not sure. Just got it this year at suggestion of my Doc.
Also, for those over 65, there is an additionally stronger Flu vaccine too.
I'm in that block of people who are susceptible to lung infections. Glad to here that you are out of danger. But, my question is (and I assume you've researched this) is how do defend against something like this??

Last month, a friend was in intensive care for almost a week w/pneumonia -- very scary. Rest and destress -- that's what the doc told her, so I assume it's good advice

I just want everyone to know that, while in the hospital, Michele was actually worried about mailing the necklaces I bought from her. Just goes to show what type of person she is.
Lady Michele, don't fret, get as much rest as possible, and be a little selfish for once. I know that taking care of your brother is on your shoulders, but I pray that some of your family will help you with him so you can heal and recharge.

I almost died from the flu shot, severe allergic reaction,
but hey, sure, the rest of you get them! Herd immunity.

Fairly new pneumonia vaccine
