Heart-breaking. Political and financial elites are immunized
from the rule of law, while legitimate whistleblowers like Manning, Snowden, Ellsberg, McGovern, Kiriakou, Schoolcraft (NYPD), etc are marginalized, discredited, threatened and imprisoned.
Must be so lonely and despairing, bearing the heavy weight of truth and righteousness in a world so deeply corrupt and in thrall to money and power.
Manning is a hero to the world, to all who have been senselessly killed or victimized by the insanity of war and imperialism.
Maybe it's time for a letter-writing campaign to thank and comfort her.

That's the saddest thing I've read all day.
The way that whistleblowers have been treated by the Obama Administration is absolutely unconscionable. What the hell happened to the transparency we were promised? After waging a massive PR campaign against Snowden and pursuing the harshest measures against anyone trying to leak information and hold the government accountable, Obama has the goddamn nerve to protect Hillary, who actually did put state secrets at risk? Who we know was likely hacked by foreign governments because of her hubris and extreme negligence?
I honestly can't imagine what Manning is going through. It's difficult enough just to be a transgender woman in America, let alone face endless hostile repercussions from one's own government just for trying to bring immoral conduct to light.
And another thing
Assange - an Australian citizen- is facing charges of treason under US law should the Corporatist States Government get their vile mitts on him. I'm still waiting to see the attempted justification for that set of trumped up charges.
