Looks like there will be a live stream......
HERE
Hope it works
better than live stream of his NH press conference

Apparently the talk starts at 8 EDT tonight.
Life is strong. I'm weak, but Life is strong.
Yup. The live feed link says 8PM. n/t

Sounds like our man is still fighting!
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
There should not be a question:
Thirty years fighting the good fight does not get abandoned for, well, for what? What exactly can the Clintons and/or the Democratic Party offer Bernie Sanders to get him to repudiate a lifetime of activism and fighting for the average American? Answer that question whenever the doubt starts crawling around in our head from some report, sound bite, or ratfucker's concern trolling. I will guarantee Bernie will disappoint some, maybe all, of us at some time over an position or action he takes. The nature of humans is that we cannot ever all agree on anything. It's allowing our great expanding mind to blow it up into our worst nightmares that is the issue. He is the only politician I have known with a long, long record of doing what is best for the most of us. I'll take that record over my fears and doubts any day.
Until, if, he proves me wrong. I won't hold my breath until it happens.
"Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now..."
I'll be there.
Just signed up after an email from the campaign last night that I just saw this morning.
Got butterflies in my stomach. I hope Bernie asks the assembled today what they think he should do. I'd like him to run 3rd party. Maybe he's got the best agenda, and will first take it to the Dem Convention but at the same time is laying groundwork for the 3rd party run whose time has come.
Last night I attended a strangely sobering but uplifting (we know how this movement stuff works) discussion with Julian Assange hosted by Amy Goodman. Hedges, Scahill, one of his team of lawyers and radical lawyer Margaret Ratner were there, as well as the Ecuadorian ambassador to the UN and a taped message from Michael Moore in from the Embassy where Assange is in his 4th year of captivity. Scahill was particularly fiery about the role of whistlleblowers, investigative journalism and the burden they bear, and Hedges was his amazing clear-eyed, resolute, radical scholarly self urging us to bear the burden of participation in mass civil disobedience. If I can finish up an essay I started on it before leaving here I'll post it. Got the infant at my side on a bench in the park as I write this, so that means feeding and nap time are still ahead and then all the other stuff that needs taking care of, like lunch for me, maybe some yoga, the dishes, some laundry.
These are big moments people. There's a lot to be inspired by, and everyone here does that for me too.
Remember though, there are more of us than the MSM would like us to think. Never have I felt that more than now. The struggle continues...
"If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph:
THE ONLY PROOF HE NEEDED
FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD
WAS MUSIC"
- Kurt Vonnegut
What a meeting!
I looked for a video, but there's nothing on Democracy Now (the likely source). Did Assange say when they would release emails?
Like you, I feel we are at a moment in the movement. Glad to hear all those folks have their shoulder to the boulder!
Looking forward to your essay. Have a great rally tonight!

whoa! Bernie says 20,000 ppl have responded to run for office
or to help those running! Stunning! A real revolution!
I can't listen to this anymore
If he cares about our democracy and economic justice he can't leave the Democratic primary fraud out and talk about the koch Bros. Holy shit Bernie get a spine. He's stumping for the Democrat's with his previous stump rally speeches. Okay I got a grip I'll hear him out. I do not like where this is heading however. Hope I'm wrong. I'm outraged Bernie. I'll tune in later for the punchline if he's got one.
That is nothing but a democratic party stump speech.
It is clear as day his ONLY method of addressing all those "emotional" issues he brings up to purposely affect his fans is through the Democratic party. Those supporting Sanders are supporting the democratic party, it's a simple as that.
This blog has an issue. It's either Bernie and Democratic party or it isn't. I don't think it can be both for the democratic party and against the establishment as Sanders said.
the site has no official stance, thus can be both
some are for Bernie, some are for blowing up everything. Some will actually vote for Hillary Goldman Clinton. Put me in the blowing up category.
Ya I know. I guess it depends on how one feels about the
democratic party. I just saw a few comments on here excusing Bernie even if he does endorse Clinton because that's politics.
There's a big disconnect there Shah for me. The Dem party is the establishment, the opposition in effect. Sanders just plainly stated his revolution is about electing more and better Democratic party politicians at all levels, school boards on up.
I don't see how that can work together with an independent movement outside the political/electoral process.
I tend to see the good in people, ignore what I don't like
yes, I saw that comment, too and responded to it. I don't know if it's enough for me to kick that person out of the house (if we were having dinner....or for me to get up and leave if it were at someone else's house) but once a politician knowingly lies or does something we know he/she doesn't believe in, or something that I don't believe in! then everything else he/she says becomes suspect.
Ya, bummer.
I watched that entire speech. Not sure how to describe my stance now. Maybe I'll go on a rant.
not necessarily good that I'm so forgiving
sometimes I get into trouble that way. I mean forgiving of people whose opinions I strongly disagree with, not politicians. I'm totally unforgiving with politicians.
Anyway, I bet shaz has something to say about it.
Ignoring this disconnect
of the partisan Dem. voter who chalks this Dem. partisan duplicity up to political necessity isn't anything I would do. It's how you end up with weasels and cowards winning the day. I feel sorry for the duped 'followers' who thought Bernie was the Shoe that would lead us out of the wilderness.
To say this is politics and therefore something you should either ignore or accept is nothing I am capable of doing. I wouldn't let them in the house to begin with both personally or politically. If nothing else the last few decades have shown me how the public at large has accommodated this insanity.
I trust my lying eyes and while I see good in all people i just don't want to have anything to do with this bs.Partisan politics as they stand are a snake pit that is totally disconnected with the reality were all facing. I've dealt with too many apologist's weasels politically and personally to ignore the bad. A weasel is a weasel and a pol is a pol.
The people who shrug off this insanity as that's politics are either in denial or just don't understand the that what you win is more important then winning. Especially if you coalesce with the enemy. Victories for Compromise. But hey, some people, a lot of people think this is a dog eat dog world and we should all consent to the pragmatic reality of screw you I've got mine. It's Chinatown so go along with what they euphemistically call electoral politics.
I trust you now more than ever
and appreciate it whenever you see me being too nice.
Hey Al...
I'm not going to say anything, but come on, man.
When has this blog taken that stance?
Well, not trying to be disrepectful here.
I'm not referring to your stance, for sure it's tried to be non partisan. But look around and that's not what I see from a significant percentage on here at this time. And to me by virtue of people's continued support for Sanders and his revolution, that means support for his plan for the Democratic party, to "revitalize" it.
I watched that entire speech. First time I've done that since 2008 with Obama. I wanted to see what he said tonight. Sanders at one pointed talked about challenging the establishment. Then he clearly supported the Democratic party as his singular tactic for his revolution, to elect more politicians and get more people involved, with the Democratic party.
I believe the democratic party is the establishment. So how can one work against the establishment while also work for it? That's what there is on this blog now, people who are all on board with what Bernie is advocating and people who aren't. I don't see that working together which to me is a problem. I'm speaking for myself of course, but I've absolutely had it with the democratic party and consider it part of the opposition for any real revolution. I will criticize it and those who support it. I don't think that's what you want. So maybe it's not the blog's problem, maybe it's mine.
Aw come on, man...
I was being tongue in cheek. Gotcha!!
Aw, I'm too easy man.
You know, that was my nickname in high school, "Easy Al". Even had an Easy Al fan club (bball)
Down in Peoria...
there's a world famous, ahem, Gentleman's Club, called Big Al's (google it). That's what I think of every time I see your username.
Corrupt: Both Parties + Koch buying candidates
He mentioned both. Angrily.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
Okay riverlover
he is addressing both parties angrily but he is running as a Democrat. I have heard this speech over and over and i agree in theory with what he's saying. So we all know but come on Bernie what are you going to do about it? Other then stop the Hairball or work withing a dead fascist party? He did not lose fair and square because of the corruption he's talking about so why bill this speech as 'where do we go from here'.
Like your sig line. I wish Bernie the current left wing official Shoe would show some obstinacy. It's just not possible to be for what he preaches and call for voting and infiltrating for the Democratic fascists. When you look at it are the same damn thing as the Republican's sans the theological idiocracy. The least he could have done is not go into his excellent song and dance but actually offer a way forward for a real political revolution instead of a pep rally for the unbelievable possibility of using the Demorat' as a vehicle for his populist agenda.
Oh yeah the Democrat's aren't the KKK. big whoop. Tell that to the poc globally and here in the US that are systematically disenfranchised, imprisoned, shot dead, impoverished and bombed. I sincerely hope he pulls through and says don't vote for the psycho bitch and this was a rigged primary, but I doubt it. This speech is insulting. He's just another complicit pol. His intentions may be good but no thanks. This is no direction home for his followers or even his supporters like me. At least I saw this coming and did not invest my heart. i've learned the hard way that a pol is a pol.
I agree, but I think I heard him free us
to take the movement out of the Democratic Party. He may be bound, but his ideas are ours, as well.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
Exactly
This movement does not belong just to The Democrats. It's nice to hear it put that way, cuz it's true!
And not for nothin', but I am seriously weary of the supposed argument that
it's not like it's a disagreement. It's not even an argument, really, it just tries to look like one! It's like "Well, you ran as a Democrat, you're a sellout and you're just like all the rest of them". Right, because he would have gotten anywhere trying to run third party from the beginning. Dude should be a Democrat, he stands what the damned party used to stand for! This supposed argument seems to me to really be more about Dem leaders being pissed off that he ran as one of them and then helped them expose themselves as the frauds they really are. OOOPS, right??! So with that in mind, here we all are--and how on earth can anyone realistically expect him to go all "She STOLE IT!" to the press before the fucking convention? And if he doesn't, he's a chickenshit capitulator of some sort? AYFKM? He used them! He beat them with their own stupid club! Far as I'm concerned, that makes him a damn sight smarter than one of those Pols we're always on about--yannoh, one of them smart guy DC slickers that's just like all the others
I mean, ask me after the convention, but for now, I want to see him beat them with their own stupid club some more before it's all over. They've sure as hell got it coming.
Why is he bound? What binds him?
Seriously what binds a pol who just got the shaft from the party whose banner he ran under to be bound to their duplicity and rigged outcome? What did he free us up to do? Run 7000 more weasel progressives as Democrats'. No thanks I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of the so called progressive Dems. in my city and state that rode in on Obama's coattails. The better progressive Democrat's I voted for and donated to and campaigned for that once elected showed their true colors and are now wrecking my city state and country. If his ideas are ours why not stand up and fight this rigged primary and this endless bloody war and the disaster cappie party that he will not take on. Because why?
Bernie's live stream started.. actually an hour ago /nt
https://www.euronews.com/live
no endorsement, no concession. Love it! nt
I don't know what you hear in this speech
I just hear he is going on to campaign for his issues the way he did before. And I don't think that is something to get upset about over.
You want him to answer a question you have, he doesn't want to answer for you. I guess you have to wait for it til after the convention. For a reason. It's normal from him to expect that his supporters can wait for that answer how he will deal with the democratic party or will not deal with them long enough without falling him into his back.
You want to blame him for campaigning? Why? Now? What for? He is exactly doing what he can do right now, imo. Anything else would be giving up. He is not giving up, you are.
Let's meet again after the convention and let's continue the conversation then. If you can't stand his stump speech anymore, don't listen to it. I can imagine you will regret it, when he isn't any more able to speak and you have to listen for other bs from your favorite con candidates.
