I agree with the part of the caption which begins with "suddenly realizing".
But the opening lines? I recall hearing Senator Sanders on Thom Hartmann's show repeatedly discussing the things he was hearing from the American people before he decided to run. He spent a fair amount of time talking with groups of people in various places, and gave the matter a lot of thought, before he announced.
I know that this political cartoon is intended to vent some of the disappointment we all feel considering how things turned out (so far), but I can't go along with disrespecting Senator Sanders making the kind of mistake which more accurately belongs to Marco Rubio or Rand Paul.
Sanders didn't assume he was sought as most of the GOP options had. He didn't hear divine voices telling him to run. He'd heard the voices of American voters. He'd gone out and asked.
as far as Mr. Fish goes, he can plant this one right in his nether regions.
"...suddenly realizing he hadn't wasted the last 15 months of his life running as a FAILED CANDIDATE..."
I am having a real hard time here finding anything redeeming in this guys support of the pay-to-play war mongering liar who had no qualms okaying weapons deals for some of the foulest governments that exist today as long as the family slush fund got it's cut.
How's the old phrase go? With friends like this who needs enemies? And if we sit here and passively take this kind of treatment we will NEVER have a damn chance to build any kind of movement to take back our country from HillBillary's oligarchs.

This Mr. Fisch alos feels blessed to have been a part. The rally at outside RFK Stadium on Thursday, felt like a Grateful Dead concert with all the love there. I was thrilled to meet new people (including Brother Cornel West), but also to reunite with a number of the most dedicated volunteers from the Maryland effort. While our state proved that is the quintessential Clinton state, it was an amazing journey that brought me in contact with literally thousands of Marylanders who were excited to see Bernie supporters and eager to read the flyer we had designed to state teh case for the Sadners campaign.

Representing the 99% at the Dem Nat'l Convention in Philly.
Much can happen in six weeks before the convention. Let's hope Bernie does well in DC...20 delegates up for grabs. Still counting in CA. Currently the delegate count is 2202 $hillary to 1829 Bernie... a 373 delegate deficit. There are 741 Super delegates. We will see what happens.

That maybe Bernie started out as "only" running for President, but in fact has energized such a mass of regular citizens that he has made a much larger impact than merely a campaign. He has energized us by reminding us that the bill of rights and constitution was written for ALL residents, and that the power lies with the residents not with the presidents. Bernie has changed America, not just for this election cycle but for at least the next generation. Some are now calling him the most powerful man in Washington: http://www.inquisitr.com/3185706/bernie-sanders-may-have-lost-the-race-b...
I still believe Bernie will be the one sworn in January 20, 2017!

Vowing To Oppose Everything Trump Attempts.
I agree - I find this troubling.
The minute I read it, I had a visceral reaction to it as dissing everything Bernie stands for.

Thank you so much! I found this arrogant and patronizing and

Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
Why don't we all
write about how Bernie has already lost today?

I read something else into that cartoon.
