Al Jazeera is broadcasting the entire funeral

of Muhammad Ali. It is very moving with laughter, worth checking out bits. Louisville is more off the streets right now than anytime but the Derby. The People's Champ.

It's too bad they had Bill Clinton speak

I'd imagine that was part of Ali's wishes, but it shows his ignorance of world affairs when he can on the one hand refuse to fight against the "yellow man" but evidently respect and have give a eulogy by a war criminal responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of children (Iraq in the 90's).

So I am weird, but seeing his casket in Louisville, dead in Phoenix, I thought 'I wonder if his body was shipped UPS to the main hub in Louisville?'

Ya, I don't know either. But it's been said the funeral

was planned for a few years so the eulogy aspect was probably planned also. If it wasn't Ali's specific wish to have Clinton speak, then someone has done him a disservice imo.

Seems like election fraud, hollow endorsements, and the email scandal are the big issues today. Here's something I've not seen at c99 today. Those that know how to get past the WSJ wall can read it directly:

There are new developments in the FBI probe around Hillary Clinton’s use of an unsecured, private email account while she was secretary of state. The Wall Street Journal is reporting the federal probe is focusing on a series of emails from 2011 and 2012 dealing with CIA drone strikes in Pakistan. The emails were written by U.S. diplomats in Islamabad and State Department officials in Washington, and some were forwarded to Clinton’s personal, unsecured email account.

Need cheering up, going to sit down with a good dystopian novel

while it's still considered fiction. Maybe reread Brave New World or The Handmaid's Tale or 1984. Or maybe treat myself to something newer.... What a frigging week it has been.

No 'news' this evening--sorta experiencing a bit of 'burnout' (in regards to politics), considering all the drama of this past week.

Didn't even catch any reporting about Ali's funeral, today. Actually, I'm not sure that I could have stood having to listen to WJC's eulogy--so maybe it's for the best.
