Why I love C99!

We just had a remarkably childish, mean-spirited troll "diary" posted, since we all know from under which bridge the troll scuttled out from.
I clicked on it, thinking someone was being snarky or funny, but nope, just a troll wanting to display for us all the reasons why there will be no unity.
I started to comment "yawn..." but then thought - why bother? Honestly, who gives a shit?
And all my beloved C99ers obviously thought the same, and can't be bothered wasting their time in unprofitable arguing with intellectually challenged trolls when there are interesting, stimulating discussions going on everywhere else.
THAT in a nutshell is why I love this place.
And the beauty of it is, indifference really is the one thing that trolls can't stand.

The reaction is everything. If s/he doesn't get one, it really does get boring. From the link I posted, you can see how badly tops numbers are declining. Trend is down and down. They have no one left to troll.

I'm torn. I'd love it to stay there with no reaction.
But it's hard to fight our natural instincts to fight back, even when the attack is pointless and absurd.

And we have all experienced friend/cohort fall-away. Fall-away would be a great animal name, other than order words that escape me. I think that might pass.
Fall-away is good. Trees in the woods self-prune lower branches when leaves cannot get enough light. If the tree is healthy it has already shut that branch off from anything other than accumulating back the available nutrient out there. And the scar closes fast. The branch did what it was supposed to do, until it was superceded. Lower leaves on trees are physically larger to catch photons.
