Workin' on a Buildin'

I've almost finished replacing our well house. It was the only structure I didn't build myself on our place. It was thirty something years ago, and we had just (almost) finished the house when the school year started and we were off to start teaching in a new system. A friend helped by building our well house. It lasted these 30 years (or so) as did the air tank, pump and so on, but it was a just in time replacement. I think this new well house system will see us out, supplying good quality water for at least another 30 years. The project brought to mind the type of structures we could construct for a sustainable future, and aroused pleasant memories of building projects past, present, and future.

Climate change--the industry thereof--is a scam.

I'm a proponent of Robert Frosts's poem fire and ice, which I was fortunate enough to hear Frost himself recite a month before he died. I don't know how this globe itself will end--a cold, dark death when the sun dies. A solar super flare. Who knows? It sure ain't me. I would like to see the nightly smirk on Al Gore's face every night when he counts the silver. An inconvenient truth, Mr. Gore and co-dependents, is that climate always changes over time.

Potential Tulsi Breakthrough

As has been noted in another essay, Tulsi will appear in the first night of Democratic debates with a fairly bland array of debate opponents.

The only relative heavyweight in the first debate night will be Elizabeth Warren. Speculation from another essay on this site says that this is an effort to shine a light on a sheepdog candidate--which might very well be true.

FDR F’d US

While Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) was an excellent US President who shaped history, no fundamental changes rivaling the Declaration of Independence, or the Emancipation Proclamation, were achieved. Nothing of great and lasting value was actually created under FDR’s tenure.
