Substitute Open Thread...

Open Thread Image.jpg

EL is traveling, and there must be an error with his OT scheduling. His Monday OT usually post at 6AM CT. I'm putting up a substitute in order to provide some place for beginning today's discussions. Hope EL is have a great time on his travels, and thought I would use this as a place to comment on the upcoming eclipses in the US over the next year...both solar and lunar.

Path of the annular solar eclipse on October 14, 2023 from the west coast, and total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024 Across Mexico, the Midwest and into Canada.

The Weekly Watch

Creating (Evermore) Control

Open Thread Image.jpg

There's a power grab in plain sight...easy to see for those who look. There's the rapid move toward government controlled digital currency to track your every purchase. TPTB are passing "no protests allowed laws" in some countries. The UN is creating a preponderance of new health regulations in addition to their "Pandemic Treaty". The so called "Green Movement" has become yet another means of control as they require the sale of farmland, dictate the car you can drive, and want to corral you into "15 minute cities". All the levers of control are being driven by a complicit media propaganda megaphone. The Censorship Industrial Complex silences those who reveal their lies with Julian as the most obvious case, and many other examples we'll discuss below fold...

Album of the Week 6-3-23

Afternoon folks!

It's been another good week for uploading music. This week there's a nice acoustic blues album by Larry Johnson on which he is accompanied on harmonica and slide guitar by John Hammond Jr. After that, there's a nice compilation album of Willie Mabon doing some fine Chicago blues. Following up is some blues rock with the Climax Blues Band, one of their early 70's albums when they strayed less from the blues style than later. Following that is another, my favorite album by Osibisa, a band from Ghana. Then there's some rockabilly with the Stray Cats and we finish up the week with a spacey-prog rock album from Hawkwind.

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Friday Night Photos Small World vol 5 Edition

Happy Friday everyone. I hope everybody is doing well. Post any photos, memes, or music you like.

Well it's been another week of cool temps and gray skies and a little light rain on Wednesday. I can deal with the cool temps but I really miss the sun. I'm beginning to think I'm in the pacific northwest and not San Diego.
On Tuesday I had a CT scan done on my heart. The Dr. was concerned about plaque buildup in the arteries because of high cholesterol. The results said there was minimal buildup and I'm at low risk for heart disease. So that was good. Other than that it's been an uneventful week.

These are a few of the residents at the cactus garden and rose garden at Balboa Park.

Open Thread - 6-02-23 - Open Thread Lament

Once fore the light, before time started,
The Big Bang blew, a new universe was charted.

Matter congealed, solar system comparted.
Life sprang forth, man and nature soon parted.

Language was cast, the sonnets were Barded,
The Enlightenment arose, and philosophy Descarted.

Now to the present, with deadline regarded,
The Open Thread awaits, and my mind bombarded.

Hencewhile I sat, deeply broken hearted,
I tried to write, but my brain just f***ed.

Wit and wisdom long since, forlorn and departed,
Neurons and glia, so easily outsmarted.

Then out of the ether, came a thought so unguarded,
It left foreheads unfrowned, and knickers unwadded.

I hope that now, since muse has jumpstarted,
My own mind and words, be forever unparted.
