Good Morning!

Welcome to Tuesday's Open Thread. Today we are featuring Mimosas al fresco along with a little thing we call brunch. A meal where cocktails at breakfast is not only socially acceptable but also gives you an excuse to take a nap afterwards. It's a time to get together with friends and family, splurge a little, and no matter what you're wearing, the experience always feels a little special. From my memories of birthday brunches at home to New York City harbor views from Windows on the World, I’ve always enjoyed the elegant indulgence of an afternoon brunch. So, come as you are, pull up a chair, enjoy the scenery, and have a glass (or two) of Mimosas because it's brunch time!

In the current debate concerning the proliferation of anti abortion laws, I keep hearing how men want to control women’s bodies. But this argument is belied by the number of women who support these bills including the governor of Alabama who signed their bill into law almost as soon as it was passed by the legislature.

I was particularly moved by an essay Magi referenced a couple of weeks ago by Marc Doll. At the beginning of the essay he squarely lays out the climate crisis by leading each paragraph with But it is worse than that.

It was the last long paragraph that set me thinking in a new direction. I have encountered most of these ideas before. Maybe it is just the way he frames it.

There is a path forward.

Listen up, peasants. We are getting a little tired of repeating ourselves.
Bernie can't/won't win. It's not possible, in the exact same way that you can't have universal health care or a pause in our endless wars of choice.
It's absolutely bonkers that you even have the nerve to think you could have things that most of the rest of the world take for granted.
Your rulers will define the limits of your reality, so shut the Hell up about Bernie!

Today, Duncan Campbell of Sussex University has doxxed the brilliant pseudonymous cyberanalyst Adam Carter. Adam has made an extensive insightful analysis of the internet persona “Guccifer 2.0”, whom our Deep State has assured us is the Russian source of the Wikileaks DNC emails. Since Adam’s analysis knocks this theory into a cocked hat, the servants of the Deep State are at pains to smear him. You can read Campbell’s mean-spirited bilge here:

Tulsi Update: 19 May 2019 (Rogan Bump, Oliver Stone)

Tulsi's 2.5 hour interview with Joe Rogan 6 days ago resulted in a solid attention bump.

The YouTube version of the video has so far garnered more than 1.6 million views, and on average his podcast downloads are about double that number.

After that interview, Tulsi's Instagram account gained 11,000 new followers and her Twitter account gained 30,000 new followers. The more people watching her on a regular basis, the better!
