Afternoon folks!

There's some great stuff this afternoon! Starting off, we've got New Orleans piano professor Champion Jack Dupree with material from a bunch of albums he recorded for the Blue Horizon indie label in Britain. After that, we've got a fine acoustic performance from Buddy Guy and Junior Wells live at Guy's club in Chicago. We go back to New Orleans for some funk from The Meters and then we go next door for some serious electric delta blues from the Jelly Roll Kings. Finishing up is a solo album from the Grateful Dead's keyboardist and backup vocalist, Keith and Donna Godchaux.

Starting off in New Orleans with an album from barrelhouse piano player Champion Jack Dupree, we then move on to an album from Taj Mahal, with a stellar version of Horace Silver's "Senor Blues." Following that we go to a live album from Muddy Waters and then a raw, rootsy album from Big Bad Smitty. After that it's blues-rock time with a live Hot Tuna album and we finish up in the diversity department with a folksy kind of album from The Be Good Tanyas.

We've got a bunch of great stuff from New Orleans this week, starting off with Champion Jack Dupree (with Mickey Baker on guitar and Hal Singer on sax) and followed up by a great compilation of stuff, some from names you probably know and other stuff not, all of which is worth a listen. After that we've got an album from Aretha Franklin - some of it is a little schmaltzy, but the rest of it is solid r&b.

After that, it's on to George Thorogood, Blue Cheer, an EP from Dr. Feelgood and J.J. Cale's best album. We finish off with an album from Dutch prog-rockers Focus (with guitarist Jan Akkerman, who's about the same calibre as Jeff Beck).

Here we go with three blues albums this week, King Curtis and Champion Jack Dupree start us off with a live album followed by albums from B.B. King and Bo Diddley. After that, there's an album of folkey/bluesy acoustic music from Paul Geremia and some electric blues rock from Blues Magoos and ZZ Top. We finish off in the diversity department with an album from British rock band, The Rumour.

There's some great blues in store for you all this week! Starting off, there's a double album from Muddy Waters fronting a super group on a half-studio, half-live album, following that there's a compilation album of Champion Jack Dupree's New Orleans piano blues and the blues selections finish off with a compilation album of Sun Records recordings from the 50's/60's with some great stuff from Billy "The Kid" Emerson, Rosco Gordon and a bunch of much lesser-known artists.

After that we've got blues-rock albums this week from Johnny Winter and a live album from DC blues band The Nighthawks. Finishing off there's a rock and roll album from noted Texas blues singer Lou Ann Barton.

Well, I've got a good pile of stuff for you this week. Starting off, there's a european record of Champion Jack Dupree backed by a jazz band, followed by an album by Chicago blues sax player A.C. Reed. After that we move on to the blues-rock stuff with albums by Harvey Mandel, The Climax Chicago Blues Band and Rory Gallagher. There's also an album of studio jams by Peter Green.

Then in the diversity department there's a double live album from the Flying Burrito Bros, a double live album from Weather Report and we finish off with a Rock and Roll (perhaps New Wave) album from The Vapors.

There's a solo acoustic album from John Hammond, The Butterfield Blues Band's East-West album and a more or less straight up rock album by Dr. Feelgood. There's also an interesting album from Geoff and Maria Muldaur, a Steeleye Span album and a David Bromberg album to boot.
