In 2017, an 18 year old girl and 2 friends were at a Coney Island park in Brooklyn. A police search revealed marijuana and klonopin. The driver was arrested, taken away, raped by the two officers then released. The cops got 5 years probation.
Last year was a good year for the legalization movement. Canada passed the Cannabis Act in June, becoming the first industrialized country to legalize recreational marijuana use.
Vermont and Michigan also approved recreational marijuana, bringing the number of states to 10.
Utah and Missouri voted to approve medical marijuana initiatives, bringing the number of states to have legalized some form of medical marijuana to 32.
Canada just became the 2nd country in the world to legalize pot.
A Mexican cartel chief, Jorge Roman, once called the drug war ‘a sham put on the American tax-payer’ that was ‘actually good for business’.
The only thing the drug cartels fear is legalization.
Just days after AG Jeff Sessions declared war on marijuana, Vermont became the ninth state to legalize.
Most people know that 23 states have legal medical marijuana and four states have legal recreational marijuana (Ohio will vote on legal pot this November).
What most people don't know is that Central and South American countries, the ones who have suffered the most violence from drug prohibition, are moving far ahead of us in the fight to end this costly and losing war.
