Larsen C Breaks Off from Antarctica
Submitted by The Wizard on Wed, 07/12/2017 - 2:00pmAn iceberg the size of Delaware with enough water to fill Lake Erie twice, about one trillion tons, just launched itself from Antarctica. The ice-shelf was floating and displaced its own weight in water and therefore will not raise global sea levels. However, it was the plug that kept land based ice from sliding into the ocean. When that happens, global sea levels will rise.
