Everyone knows about NATO membership, but few are familiar with the fact that NATO has "allies" and "partners".
They include such countries as Japan, Australia, and believe it or not, Russia (from 2002 to 2014).
When Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened Trump by saying his government will seek “new friends and allies,” everyone (including me) thought he was bluffing.
I totally did NOT see this coming.
One day the Qatar/Saudi rivalry wasn't even on the map.
The next day this happened.
My local paper ran an opinion piece by Charles Krauthammer on Sunday. It was called My vote, explained and you can read it here if you're interested. -> Washington Post If you've ever read his stuff you know that Krauthammer is a Neocon for sure and as crazy as any of them. There's never been a war of choice he couldn't get behind and, although he says he won't vote for Hillary I'm sure he'd support her vision of an exceptional America raining death and destruction across the Middle East and elsewhere. Mr. Krauthammer is also, apparently, an imbecile.
Things are threatening to spiral out of control in Syria. The civil war threatens to become a much larger all-out regional war, much like the bloody Second Congo War 1998-2003 that enveloped half of the nations of Africa.
