The Thieves Roar Like Fish In The Sand

There are demons
in the endless wood.
No one believes in them
but they are there
to sizzle like poisoned water
in the heart.

Twigs crack in the wind.
We fumble the tools,
our tongues stutter.

Light is a danger.
With it we see only
to the edge of it.
