Duh!

Yesterday (Tuesday) there was an article in the news: 'Bill Clinton suggests US is more likely to elect female president if candidate is Republican'. Bill Clinton basically said that the first woman elected would probably be from the right wing. I wanna tell him all the upper ranks of his party are center or right-wing too. Hah.

The thing is, I've known this little truth for a long, long time. In English type countries, like America, Canada, Australia, UK (not New Zealand, go New Zealand!) the dislike isn't really over gender, it's over politics, and maybe over the way the person running for high office rose into their role in those politics. Electing a right-wing woman is easier than electing a supposed left-wing woman, especially if the right-wing woman has a political history of her own and is not riffing off that of her husband. An example: Thatcher (whom I despised), in the UK, had her own political history. She wasn't there because of who her husband was and the positions he'd 'served' in.

NOT her husband, but close enough, heh. (from the Washington Times)

Lessons Learned?

Trump seems to have selected Trump loyalists for his cabinet. Many are Israel first people. There's plenty of China and Iran war mongers in the group as well. No doubt we'll have to wait and see, first if they make it through the senate after McConnell installed Thune as a poison pill, and secondly if they live up to their claims of challenging the system. Did Trump learn from his first term of disastrous appointments?

Album of the Week 11-16-24

Afternoon folks!

Another week, some more great blues! Starting out there's a Stax-era album from Albert King followed by some great old recordings of Kansas City jazz and blues pianist Jay McShann. After that we've got a live album from the Neville Brothers, blues-rock albums from Redbone and Peter Green. There's an album from (The Band's drummer, mandolinist and singer) Levon Helm and we finish up with an album from Memphis musician Don Nix.

Enjoy the tunes and have a great weekend!

Good morning, good people!

Well, another week of trying to figure out all these Trump appointees and what they will do that's good or bad. My POV is they will do as they are told to do by Deep State, as always. Still, I have foolishly devoted hours of my waking moments speculating, which is exactly was Deep Stated planned.

I smell a rat.
