AOC = Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I deeply resent the coverage which pretends that it is she who invented the Green New Deal, that is it she who first touted higher taxes on the rich.
The wide-eyed wonder of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez when talking or public speaking yields inconveniently slanted reportage. On the right, the current line that AOC can't put together a decent sentence. This is nonsense. Whatever one may think of her policies, most all of them are or were Progressive. Campaigning for progressives by AOC did not yield any benefit. But I wonder about the districts in which she campaigned.
Republicans have done an embarrassingly poor job at making Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez look bad.
Failing to slander her agenda, they've turned to personal attacks.
There is understandable interest in Ms. Ocasio-Cortez. In particular people want to know her positions on foreign policy.
It has been said that she is silent on the topic,and that this means she condones US imperialism. The issue was muddled by the disappearance of the "peace economy" plank from her platform,noted by S. Khan and reported here by Wendy Davis.
Suddenly Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is everywhere, and she hasn't even won a general election.
This is making real, measurable ripples. This is one example.
If you want to blame anybody for this blame my self-described Socialist friend and fellow father in the neighborhood. I was surprised when he inquired to see if I was going to vote for Ocasio-Cortez for Congress in the NY-14 primary. Gave him my whole spiel about not believing in electoral politics after Bernie was swindled by the #DNCFraud. He agreed. But he thought that defeating Crowley, the Neoliberal Wall St shill/protectorate, would be a worthwhile effort. I agreed.
