There always seems to be a lot of contention around "billionaires" and politics. For example, in another thread here, there was angst that Bernie's Our Revolution organization might be soliciting major funding from the likes of Tom Steyer and George Soros.

I got an email this morning that I found odd. Mark Warner, one of the remaining conservadem Senators and one of the few to escape the 2014 bloodbath, is coming to Los Angeles in order to raise money. A lot of money. For the cut rate price of $1,000, I could see one of my least favorite Democratic Senators who has literally no real reason for being here; if I'm feeling opulent, I can spend $5,400 to be a host.
