Fake news. Diligent reporting. What's the difference?

The other night I was watching NBC news. They had a segment about how Putin was assembling a dossier of President Trump's strengths and weaknesses, and his psychological makeup. They even interviewed a Russian speaking man who said exactly what they wanted him to say.

Was this fake news? Was it real news?

Irony of ironies. After railing against digital media and people getting their news "free" for the better part of a decade, the tides have once again turned, and traditional media was able to adjust their oversized-creaking wooden surfboard to catch the wave... barely.

The Fix for Fake News? Give us Tools, not Censorship.

Restrictions on free speech are all the craze now in Western Democracies (Demockrazies?). In the US, we’ve got the various “protect the people from fake news” initiatives. Of course, the self-appointed and designated “protectors” are Corporate and Government entities, mixed with billionaires who think they are as good and wise as Buddha, Solomon, and all the Saints. (Said blessing comes with one’s first billion dollars, apparently.)

National Geographic notices gender

I've got to admit that I have mixed feelings about today's of news. As a child National Geographic magazine covers were the items in the library upon which certain of my peers could unleash their prurient interest...hoping to see the occasional bare breast of the savage woman of color dressed in her tribal garb.
