(or at least according to Amazon) is a new book, Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton's Doomed Campaign. This book is no doubt for those who are still amazed at what a loser Clinton was and is.

First off, from what I know of it, I like Susan Bordo's other stuff. The stuff on Descartes is good -- the analysis of inwardness and of the Cartesian masculinization of thought. And I liked the "Male Body" cultural/ historical overview, the comparison of gazes and so on.

Even though, as I pointed out in my previous diary, the "Left" is at best a point of pride on a few Facebook profiles, the Right feels obliged to restrain any sort of deviance because, you see, austerity planning has its beneficiaries. So they run articles in places like Vox warning us that phenomena like Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn are not the solution to our problems.

Caitlyn Johnstone has been writing some pretty good articles lately. Today she hit one out of the park.

Her framing of the issue in this article is just a masterpiece - and if it catches on, it just might be a way to fight back against the warmonger Democrats in the public mind.

So okay the protesters didn't show up when militias armed by the Pentagon fought those armed by the CIA. Isn't stuff like that the reason they're refugees in the first place? Better late than never, I guess.
