Chicken Shack

Album of the Week 3-15-25

Afternoon folks!

Here it comes, there are some blues for you - starting off with albums from harmonica player Little Sonny and Hound Dog Taylor and the HouseRockers. Following that we've got some r&b albums from Curtis Mayfield followed by some serious old-school r&b from Joe Liggins and his Honeydrippers. Then we have a nice acoustic blues album from Jesse Fuller and after that it's off to blues rock with albums from Band member Levon Helm and brit blues band Chicken Shack. Then we move into the diversity department with an album of ska from The Selecter and an album of british folk/rock from the Oyster Band.

Enjoy the tunes and have a great weekend!

Album of the Week 10-28-23

Afternoon folks!

This week there's some great Chicago blues to take your mind off of the news, starting off with an album by Fenton Robinson and followed by a double album compilation of Lowell Fulson's Chess recordings. After that we're on to some blues rock with probably my favorite John Mayall album with some excellent guitar work by Mick Taylor, then there's an album from Chicken Shack, a brit blues band that featured a massively underrated guitarist Stan Webb and Christine Perfect (later McVie from Fleetwood Mac).

In the diversity department, there's some country punk from Jason and the Scorchers and a great album of old-timey music from The Red Clay Ramblers - it's a good one, check it out!

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Album of the Week - 3-25-23

Afternoon folks!

There's some cool stuff this week. Port Arthur bluesman, Phillip Walker leads off with an album, followed by Taj Mahal playing some fine acoustic blues. After that Doc Watson with Merle and some friends plays a bunch of fine bluegrass. Following that it's back to blues rock with The Flamin' Groovies, Roy Buchanan and Chicken Shack (featuring a fine, underrated guitarist Stan Webb and keyboard player Christine Perfect, later Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie). Some prog-rock follows that with Curved Air and we finish off rockin' with The Radiators.

Enjoy!
